For anyone who is looking for an old school MMO Albion Online is a perfect fit.

There's nothing quite like Albion Online in the modern climate of MMOs, and frankly, it's a breath of fresh sandbox air.

Albion Online remains very motivating despite the large grind, thanks to the many and freely selectable options for character development.

Overall, every player’s experience will differ based on how you choose to play the game, but Albion Online has provided a quality sandbox game with a strong initial build to work with.

Albion Online is a fun sandbox MMORPG with a clever progression mechanic and deep player-economy. The mid to late game grind and hardcore nature might turn away anyone looking for a more casual experience.

You could kindly call Albion Online old-school or hardcore, which might appeal to gamers with a nostalgia for the days of corpse runs, griefing, and ganking. Less graciously, you could say it is repetitive, cynical, uninspired, and opaque. In truth, MMORPGs that survive their infancy often grow into very different games than they were at launch. Patches and player input often have a way of shaping a game for the better, and given time, Albion Online may evolve as well.
  7. Albion Online is the best game to remember old school MMOs' and somehow the worst of the new ones.

Albion Online, the brand new MMO PvP game, from the Berlin-based studio Sandbox Interactive, is portrayed as a sandbox MMO with a player-driven economy and robust PvP. However, it falls short on both its promise and entertainment value. With thousands of players online simultaneously, a huge landmass to explore, and plenty of room for Guild vs Guild combat, Albion Online has potential to be an outstanding experience — but this is yet to be the case.

There is not much content for small groups of friends. End game maps are dominated by large guilds. Lack of PvE content as well (Though it is a PvP game). Devs keep restarting the server but keeps losing hours of save data. One day had over 5 restarts and rollbacks. They also by default allow any guild member to take your items on your farm. Prior to joining a new guild, I changed the default setting so only I had access to my island but a rollback reverted this change without me knowing. When I joined the new guild, someone came and stole all my horses which were very expensive. Devs won't even tell me who did it. Losing time and resources because of server issues is so frustrating. Devs have been very slow in dealing with exploits. In 2 weeks there has been at least 4 exploits and none of it fixed though in their fairness they did say they'll ban anyone doing 2 of the exploits but it is still possible to do them.

On top of that, their support is abysmal. If you lose resources due to any exploits abused by other players, they will tell you tough luck they don't want to do anything to affect the economy even though the situation originated from their lack of insight. If you lose resources due to server issues, they will tell you tough luck we don't have the logs to verify what you lost. This includes losing premium currency! Anyone who had converted premium currency to silver prior to a forced server reset/rollback will lose both the premium currency and silver when they log back on. You would assume any good support will restore either the silver or premium currency but they won't. They'll say they don't have the logs. What!?! I can understand if you don't have the logs if someone lost what they gathered but for PREMIUM CURRENCY? I'm just glad I only lost $5 of premium currency...others have lost over $50. Game concept while cool has been executed poorly. Overall experience has not been great with Albion Online.

I have fun with this game, but there is to many bugs and some wrong decision.

Minor offenses receive instant 200 year bans (not joking), even if you can prove you did not commit an offense.

The game is horribly optimized and runs poorly locally despite utilizing a minimalist art style.

If you enjoy frustration, don't value your time, and have an excess of money, then this game is for you.
