    The game is just kind of "meh". It's not necessarily a bad game, but it suffers from a lot of the same problems as other MMOs:

    1. Endgame PvP content is dominated by people using the exact same "meta" gear set ups, there is very little balance. 2. Instead of making the later game more difficult, they mostly make it more of a grind. Literally, harvesting a higher tier tree takes    The game is just kind of "meh". It's not necessarily a bad game, but it suffers from a lot of the same problems as other MMOs:

    1. Endgame PvP content is dominated by people using the exact same "meta" gear set ups, there is very little balance.
    2. Instead of making the later game more difficult, they mostly make it more of a grind. Literally, harvesting a higher tier tree takes significantly longer, for no apparent reason other than distinguishing it from lower tier trees.
    3. They didn't separate out servers by country/region, so a majority of the chat is not english, including important things you need to communicate.
    4. The movement set up on computer is goofy (there is no option to move using A-S-D-W, and instead you have to click everywhere).
    5. it is not entirely "pay to win", but if you really want to enjoy the game, you need the premium subscription, which is $15 a month. That's more per month than a lot of other, better MMOs charge.

    So overall, there is nothing to really make this game "bad" or "terrible", it just missed so many opportunities to be better that there are better MMOs out there (ESO, FF14, Guild Wars, BDO, etc).    … Expand

    Terrible game support for players, terrible ban system, i got banned for "third party commerce" just because a friend gave me silver to help me buy gear, when i contacted the support they told me the ban was correct and not negotiable.

    I'd say overall I got really into the grind building up spec for gear and gathering/fishing. Unfortunately SBI promotes a toxic player base and ganking which by the way doesn't require a ton of skill just 5v1 with stun, root, slow, silence etc. etc. If you make any sort of complaint the players will deny their own actions and say "it's just a game, get good, why you so mad bro?     game allows all kind of human deprativity to go on. Dungeons are not instanced and even dungeons that you can get a map for arent instanced. Even paid dungeons people can come in after you start clearing dungeon and it bugs the dungeon now you cant loot the chests it goes to them. Each time i bought a map for solo dungeon another person came while i was clearing the dungeon and tookgame allows all kind of human deprativity to go on.     This game is P2W. That's a fact. I've met people who have given over 1,000 to the greedy devs. Truly crazy imo.

    This game had a chance at being great. They scammed thousands with lies and changing where the game was going. Never added key things. Removed other better thing. So then they add a bunch of useless crap. This game lost 80% of it's player base in 1 month.. I could go on for    This game is P2W. That's a fact. I got it because the ads say " There's a place for everyone, find yours. a sandbox mmo that has something for everyone". utter bull **** the entire game is geared towards pvp and if you want to get ahead quickly you need premium which if you want to use in game money is 10mil sliver. or 12$ real dollars a freaking month, and for what? to have your **** taken by lazyOver this crap game.     Do you just enjoy the gather/crafting side of the game? tough **** everything you spent all day gathering/making is gone in seconds. do you enjoy farming and raising animals? well get used to spending all of your time on your island, which you need premium to get btw, to only log in once a day because there is a 22 **** hour timer on the farming. Not a single thing in this game has value because "lolz pvp full lot" wtf am i spending all my time gathering/crafting/farming for if it has 0 value? There is more pvp **** to do than non pvp **** this is also the only mmo i've played that cant figure out how controls work. qwerdf are hot keys of all damn things, and you click/hold to move instead of, oh idk every other damn computer game ever that uses wasd to move, 1-5 for hot keys and click/hold for a camera.

    the only thing that is funny is with out us, the ones who only enjoy the crafting/gathering/farming, there would be no resources for the pvpers, they would have to stop being lazy and do it them damn selves then they can see "oh getting ganked is total **** Doesn't matter what gear you have if there are enough of these **** pvpers in a group your ass is down and your **** is gone, 0 protection for gathers and non pvpers. oh you want to craft/gather more than t4? tough **** risk all your stuff by going into the red zone that has the higher tear materials.

    Want to water your crops/nature your animals? nope needs focus and focus is premium, sorry. Want to get more yeild on something you are gathering? nope need premium, want to pay less tax at the market? oope need premium, because of course you do. Want more fame/money? yep premium. want 20 free learning points? guess what of **** course you need premium.

    First few mins made you feel like there was a story but like the ads its total bs, do not waste your time find a better mmorpg to play    … Expand

    Absolutely a trash game, full of scammers, toxic chat moderators, garbage and scam everywhere that are allowed by the team, There is a system of scammers corrupted with some insiders of the game. Don't play to this garbage.

    This game is really hard to rate... Firstly i like how the economy works, everything is crafted by players and this is the reason I started playing this game. On moments it can be really fun but most of the time this game makes me feel sad, and games should not do that... So many disgusting thing can happen in 1 hour of playing this game, like every 10 minutes getting ganked by 7-8 people,This game is really hard to rate...     Great sandbox MMO. About 2 free expansions (large updates) a year and a playstyle for just about anyone. Come play it is free but I would suggest subscribing.

    Game only one server in US.
    The dev is German and they know what they are doing. Make outside US player as chicken to be killed by US players. That make game fun for US players and keep the player base.

    Actually many sandbox games are not well made like this one. It's requiring an emptiness in your life to hold you as a slave in this pot. If you lost your mind, go ahead, play it.     Do you not care about 200v200 battles (ZvZ) or are in a small guild and dont wish to join a mega? Uninstall the game.

    That's basically it. They constantly announce changes only to back pedal on them a few days later. They add in band-aid fixes to player created problems rather than solving the underlying issue (portal zone invisibility shrines). This entire game is nothing but massive battles now, any type of small group PvP content is either infested with rats (Hellgates) or so clique based you'll never get in a good group and your only option is to form groups with random people you meet in discord (crystal realm battles) only to get destroyed by old GvG main teams with 150-200 battles played because there is no MMR system in this game and they prefer to farm the newer players in low level crystals than push higher keys. Oh you want to gank? Good luck finding anyone in the now insanely massive black zone that isn't travelling with a massive group or 5 inches away from their safe space hideout.

    Finally this game has a terrible server/host. There's always connection problems with this game for people in certain regions and when you get into those massive 200v200 battles the server/game can't even handle it. You will need a lot of money to play this game if you actually do enjoy the large scale battles, which is even harder to make now with the gathering changes and lack of consistent ganking. But don't worry, you can buy in game currency with real money ;)    … Expand

    if you are into PvE, this game is not for you. if you are into solo content, this game is not for you. if do not like grindy games, this game is not for you.

    if you are into a grind heavy game with zerg pvp this game maybe is for you.

    Yeah, just installed and unistalled. Got a security error due to lighting effects...which supposedly means I have to turn of my rgb to play.... nice

    I've been apart of the game since Beta 1 so I've seen a lot of history of this game. The game itself is good, but the devs are awful! My gold (about $60 worth) got caught unintentionally up in the gold market bug when free to play was released and I have YET to be reimbursed!!! I enjoyed the game while I could but my support ticket with the devs has been on the back burner for OVER 2I've been apart of the game since Beta 1 so I've seen a lot of history of this game. The game itself is good, but the devs are awful! My gold (about $60 worth) got caught unintentionally up in the gold market bug when free to play was released and I have YET to be reimbursed!!! I enjoyed the game while I could but my support ticket with the devs has been on the back burner for OVER 2 months with no response at all. I can't anymore recommend this game to anyone and will now leave my honest review on all platforms.     Not free to play, they want me and my significant other to pay $18 to buy two premium accounts so we can login two accounts at the same time using my Aster Multiseat PC. This company has shady business practices and will do anything to make you pay, do not spend a cent you will regret it.

    What a terrible game. i played it for about 5 hours, then ran out of things to do. "sandbox" means they didn't bother to put quests in after the starter quests. "You choose how your adventure evolves" means you can choose between which thing you want to grind crazy amounts of. It feels like the game you would play if you don't have the talent for WoW.     They market themselves as some great new innovative game, but its the same f2p grindfest bs with a top down perspective instead of over the shoulder cam that have been out there for forever. With that paywall, that makes slightly more content available if you pay them money. Kill 1,000 enemies, rank up, get your new set of gear, now go kill 10,000 enemies...all without quests, storyline, or any interesting content. Or you can gather items, which is even more grindy and boring.

    I don't really know what to say, it's not even a good pay to win game, because even if you pay, there is still a huge lack of content. I reached tier 3, rode out of the starter area in search of things to do...and realized there wasn't anything. It was just more of the exact same thing I was doing.

    It feels a lot like runescape..if you took away all the quests, and most of the professions, and made the map interconnected procedurally generated zones. I think runescape is boring, albion online wishes it was half as good as runescape...but it isn't.    … Expand

    The whole game is waiting in a qeue to get into a server. They try to annoy you to make you buy premium. I enjoy waiting to get into the game for 30 minutes to cut down birch logs. Game is awful.

    Awful game, 150 ping in Europe, they have just one server and is in America, I can't believe this is possible in 2019. I wasted 60 dollars on the game because I really had high hopes about it, I feel so disappointed in their reaction when I told them I want a refund.     I dont think what these game good, and i cant understand how to play cuz my gameplay is 90% lobby waiting after kicking, and now i have so big butthurt, what ill writte these review, i dont know, maybe its only my problem, but i give my score for my gameplay, and my score is bad, cuz i cant play how min. 1 hour, to understand something, im just dont know how to play, and i dont have 1000 ruble or more, to buy everymonth a premium to fast recconect, and i cant get 2.5kk to buy for silver in game, i just cant play in this anyway. (bad englich (when i played WOW i have 60+ fps on medium-medium-low graphic, in Albion online 20fps in full city, with not very strong graphic, in WOW in fulled city-55-70+fps, in Albion not good optimisation for my laptop, i dont have tablet, and i dont know why cant do these optimisation on laptop version)    … Expand

You will have issues logging in when the game is popular, which only last a week or two when they change to free to play or some other gimmick. The developers are liars and incompetent.     game says it renders high frame rate while eyes see stutter fest and low frame rate basically a lie and looks like Nintendo 64 games looked like in 2019 that is horrible

Each hero have 4 spells :D AWESOME!     I have to edit my Rating due to the Progress I’ve made. For the first hours of the game - everything is cool, you'll have fun, and you can chill-grind Stuff, what will be the most part of the beginning. But the further you progress in the Game you will realize that:
    - You are more or less forced to have an active big guild, or you will not have access to certain crafting stuff, nor decent    I have to edit my Rating due to the Progress I’ve made. For the first hours of the game - everything is cool, you'll have fun, and you can chill-grind Stuff, what will be the most part of the beginning. But the further you progress in the Game you will realize that:
    - You are more or less forced to have an active big guild, or you will not have access to certain crafting stuff, nor decent dungeon gameplay
    - The bigger the better - you will find yourself often in the position that you are overrun by an even bigger group of pvp'ler (bring friend with time)
    - it's not about individual skill, when Albion is something it’s more or less about how long have played the game and trained your skill+ same for you grp mates. Even if you have the best 5 man team you will most probably loose against a team that is there for a while even with the same Tier as you. The Skills aren’t supposed to be very skill-shotty because the game is to indirect (compared to modern Mobas e.g) and you have only like 2-3 skills to push from time to time.
    - The Community is kind of demanding. If you want a semi good guild you have to (normally) give them something in return - mostly your time to grind or to attend on their Actions. But even for a semi good guild this is often more than anyone with a normal job can handle.
    - Some territories are blocked by big guild /Alliances so that you won’t have access to their resources. If you try to do so, you’ll most probably die trying.
    I could go on further.... I admire the team behind Albion for their dedication, but they made some really bad design decisions or haven't enough talented people hired (e.g. UI / UX is kind or the worst, proting Albion to Mobile in the First place…)
    Most Players I Know that are kind of “competitive” and Ok in their Progress have simply no job and play like most of their “free time” – which is ok for me, but if that is the main factor I’m out.    … Expand

    You could kindly call Albion Online old-school or hardcore, which might appeal to gamers with a nostalgia for the days of corpse runs, griefing, and ganking. Less graciously, you could say it is repetitive, cynical, uninspired, and opaque. In truth, MMORPGs that survive their infancy often grow into very different games than they were at launch. Patches and player input often have a way of shaping a game for the better, and given time, Albion Online may evolve as well.

    Albion Online is a fun sandbox MMORPG with a clever progression mechanic and deep player-economy. The mid to late game grind and hardcore nature might turn away anyone looking for a more casual experience.
