Mar 27, 2026AI LIMIT: Eirene’s Furnace of War delivers a combat-focused post-game DLC that retools the base experience into a roguelike structure, offering tougher encounters and rewarding mechanical depth while sacrificing the exploration and variety that originally defined it. Its core loop can feel repetitive and occasionally undermined by permanent upgrades, yet the heightened difficulty, Chaos Rifts, and reworked enemies breathe new life into the combat system for players seeking a greater challenge. Ultimately, it is a divisive but compelling add-on best suited for fans craving more of AI LIMIT’s fast, measured combat at the expense of broader design balance.

Jun 24, 2025AI Limit delivers a solid but somewhat uneven Soulslike experience, offering engaging combat driven by its attack-focused Sync Rate system and versatile frame abilities. At £29.50, it is an affordable entry into the genre, blending a gritty, anime-inspired sci-fi aesthetic with cryptic world-building. SenseGames’ debut succeeds in capturing the rewarding challenge of Soulslike combat, with solid boss fights (Hunter of Bladers is one of the better ones) pushing players to master mechanics. However, late-game areas can recycle enemy styles. Cramped spaces leading to unavoidable deaths and some collision issues also introduce frustration, occasionally disrupting the flow of the game. Despite those flaws, the lack of a stamina bar and its aggressive combat focus make AI Limit more accessible than traditional Soulslike entries. My 25-hour journey through Arrisa’s mud-soaked world was mostly enjoyable, even if some aspects did not feel as polished. It may not redefine the genre as a whole, but neat mechanical changes offer a worthwhile alternative for fans waiting on the next big hit in the genre.

Apr 17, 2025If you're a fan of games like Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and Lies of P, AI Limit is a decent entry on the same end of the soulslike spectrum. Don't expect graphics, level design, or combat on par with the two aforementioned games, but instead a simple soulslike, with a few good ideas, some nice weapons, and actually pretty good character design.

Apr 9, 2025AI Limit is a Soulslike game that's generally well-crafted, really enjoyable to play, and manages to capture its own unique flavor. It's anchored by its original gameplay dynamics, but it's still a little too dependent on its predecessors.

Mar 25, 2025If like me you really have a hard time saying no to a soulslike, and you are out of candidates, and the idea of playing with an attractive maiden is a bit unnerving, your best option is to take another look at Elden Ring and look for some templates for the character editor. But if the Interregnum has really really bored you, then I guess AI Limit is not the worst choice you can make, just don't expect a memorable experience.

Jun 20, 2025Although the anime aesthetic is eye-catching at first glance, AI Limit delivers functional but reductionist gameplay, quickly becoming exploitable as the player masters the parry system. The result, as a whole, lacks consistency and identity, stuck in a gray and overly protocolary approach within its genre. It may still have some value to the niche audience it's trying to reach, but it's still a factually forgettable bureaucratic experience that fails to stand out from the crowd.

Apr 3, 2025With clever iterations on soulslike conventions and a sharp implementation of videogame fundamentals, AI Limit has frequent thrills. But its derivative art direction, tired level design, and uninspiring narrative make it hard to recommend over its obvious inspirations. FromSoftware’s oeuvre draws on literature and visual art to feel unique and daring; AI Limits’ influences are limited to other videogames, and it’s all the lesser for it.
-
Mar 27, 2025Ultimately, AI Limit does not have the scope or impact that titles such as Elden Ring and Bloodborne have but it still manages to hold its own in the soulslike genre thanks to its unique combat system and engaging environment. However, I still believe that such an environment and story is wasted on occasion and AI Limit could have benefited from straying away from the soulslike genre to explore a more RPG-focused narrative.

May 27, 2025AI Limit doesn't revolutionize the genre, but it brings some interesting ideas that Souls-like fans might enjoy. Its combat has potential, though it's held back by technical issues, outdated design, and inconsistent worldbuilding.

Mar 25, 2025Its budget-friendly price tag, paired with the wealth of content within the world of AI Limit, makes it a no-brainer for fans of this frantic type of combat experience. Even if you’ve never played a game like this before, this is the perfect stepping stone toward “getting gud”, even if the punishment isn’t as harsh as some other games. [Recommended]
