Featuring a stunning low-poly art style, a wonderfully well-integrated soundtrack, an ingeniously simple control scheme, an interesting transformation mechanic, and impressively designed temples, AER has a lot going for it. It’s unfortunate that the experience is as short as it is and there is no way to keep track of what’s been seen. A few more environmental puzzles and a simple journal would fix my only complaints about this exploration-heavy title.

A beautiful game with great flying, only held back by confusing interiors and a short duration.

AER memories of Old is a very good little poetic game which will hook you up with it's amazing graphical style and the ability to play as an eagle to improve the freedom feel of it all. Only the shortness of the adventure may stop you from buying this at full blown price.

Aer Memories of Old is a beautiful game. A place to come back from time to time to enjoy a flight. Forgotten Key has created a complex tiny world explained well and full of little secrets but, at the end, it feels small and we want more and more.

I very much enjoyed my time with AER Memories of Old. It’s not perfect; it’s a little on the short side, its puzzles are a bit lacklustre, and it has an overt religious message — although if anything, that it adds to the world that AER creates. It’s beautifully designed, and if you stop often enough to take in your surroundings, you’ll find a very strong, moving narrative. If nothing else, though, it’s just so much fun to fly around.

    It's missing a gripping story.

AER is trying so hard to look like those beloved games from which it is being inspired, but fails to do so. The game is filled with bugs and does not tell us an interesting story all along. Even though some aerial moments are quite a delight, the total lack of wind is incomprehensible, as is the rest of the gameplay. Why would you want to play this? We are still looking for an answer.

(played this game before on epic) An amazing game with amazing indie visuals, great cutsceneless storyline that will keep everyone satisfied, great mechanix, character designs, great soundtrack... i could keep on forever. The only bad thing is its a bit incomplete and the ending is weird, but thats pretty much it! There's not a game i would recommend more and I honestly think that if the game would be 60$ it would be still worth buying.
I could go about this game forever, but you should see for yourself.

Initially, I didn't have a positive impression"AER: Memories of Old" proved to be a relatively short but surprisingly enjoyable experience. Initially, I didn't have a positive impression of the game, mainly due to the character movement when not in flight mode, which felt somewhat off, and my initial confusion about what to do. These factors led to some frustration and dislike towards the game. However, I soon realized that the key to enjoying this game is to approach it with an exploratory mindset. Once I adopted this approach and went with the flow, my perspective changed entirely, and I found myself thoroughly enjoying the journey.

One of the game's standout features is its freedom in gameplay. It doesn't hold your hand and explicitly tell you what to do. Instead, it presents you with tasks to advance the story, but it's up to you to discover and choose when to tackle them. This open-endedness allows you to explore the world at your own pace and immerse yourself fully in the experience. The story is intriguing and unfolds through dialogues and text throughout the game, making it essential not to skip them. By paying attention to these interactions, you'll be able to fully grasp the depth of the narrative and understand what's really going on.

While "AER: Memories of Old" may not be considered a masterpiece by some, I believe it deserves a playthrough for its unique and enjoyable elements. Playing the game with a relaxed mindset, without rushing the experience, is the key to fully appreciating the exploration aspect it offers. In a gaming landscape dominated by fast-paced action and intense challenges, this game serves as a refreshing change of pace, offering a calm and tranquil experience that sets it apart from most other video games out there.

The colourful low-poly graphics are nice but could be better, the gameplay of the bird and most of the puzzles are nice, but could be better, the soundtrack is very relaxing and the story is sort of ok, despite having an underwhelming conclusion and not really being a main part of the game.

AER is a small relaxing little game, but you should probably wait for a sale.

AER Memories of Old is a short but enchanting experience in which you explore a world made of floating islands.

The game basically alternates between two gameplays: the exploration of the open world, where you fly around as a bird; as three dungeons where you solved basic puzzles. I think the devs probably got inspired by Zelda: the Wind Waker as I found quite some similarities with it in this game: the cartoony graphical style of course, but also a large open world made of islands, with the Tower of the Gods right in the middle. The gameplay is limited to the strict minimum: moving and jumping in human form, or flying in bird form.

This game doesn't give in challenge, it is only there for you to enjoy the exploration and the poetry, with a calm, sometimes melancholic atmosphere.

My only disappointment was the endgame. Otherwise a enjoyable experience.

Note for the completists: there is one of the achievements that can't be unlocked if you progress too far into the game so you might as well read at least the description of the achievements, if not a guide, before diving in.

Schade. Expand

Most boring and ugly walking simulator i ever see.
No guys. It's not design. You can't fool me. This is cost savings and nothing more. The animation shows everything, it is done badly. Physics is buggy.
Even blueprints in the unreal can give much more interesting control.
The stories are completely uninteresting. In Doom 3, diaries are a thousand times more interesting to read than this rubbish.
