Jun 28, 2020Beautiful, melancholic "Journey" with an aestetic from "Ashen" with the freedom of a bird in the sky fulfilling our need of exploration with words of wisdom, prayer and hope for the betterment of mankind.
This 3 hour work of art must be experienced to fully understand it's message and meaning. -
Jan 13, 2019This game is not so much a puzzle platformer as an exploration game. The story was great. The mechanics were alright, though the flying too some getting used to. The world is pretty barren of land and people to really get invested in why I should care about saving this place. The puzzles could have been a little more interesting.

May 22, 2021Atmospheric, original, not particularly challenging, and relatively short if you pay attention to what your character is told. These could be pluses or minuses depending on how you feel about casual games but the abrupt non-ending (with no sequel and the developer has disbanded) is disappointing.

Oct 1, 2021A simple but very cute game. You can walk through in two to three hours. It has a very interesting visual style - minimalistic, but very beautiful. Riddles are simple, but interesting enough.

Feb 10, 2022PROS:
nice style of the game
nice gameplay
nice OST just needs a bit of chores
enjoyable to fly around while listening to the OST
simple controls
free roam good looking visual landscapes
CONS:
story too short/feels empty
no sub-stories
might get lost cause there's no indicator of where you should go next so you have to read every text on screen -

Dec 11, 2017AER creates a beautiful fantasy world with a wonderful flying mechanic to explore it, but ultimately doesn’t give players much to do besides repetitive platforming puzzles.
-
Nov 13, 2017AER is a pretty and charming game, but doesn’t have enough of its own original ideas to feel fresh, and it is plagued by a few flaws that prevent it from being a true standout in the genre of artsy indie exploration games. That said, the experience itself is fun and pleasant, even if it isn’t particularly memorable. If you already like these kinds of games, you’ll enjoy AER, but if you don’t, this isn’t what will make you fall in love with them.

Nov 9, 2017Featuring a stunning low-poly art style, a wonderfully well-integrated soundtrack, an ingeniously simple control scheme, an interesting transformation mechanic, and impressively designed temples, AER has a lot going for it. It’s unfortunate that the experience is as short as it is and there is no way to keep track of what’s been seen. A few more environmental puzzles and a simple journal would fix my only complaints about this exploration-heavy title.
