    A 2020 Review - 7 Days to Die, Alpha v18

    Score: 8/10 Mediocrity Score: Definitely Not Mediocre. If it weren't for its unpolished nature - this game could easily be a 9/10 or dare I say - a 10/10. Survival thriller meets RPG-esque builds and progressions.     If it weren't for its unpolished nature - this game could easily be a 9/10 or dare I say - a 10/10. Survival thriller meets RPG-esque builds and progressions. Rough edges or not, this game is an absolute blast and I expect to see more and more content to be added over the foreseeable future. So incredibly close to being a top-tier game. I'd nickname this "The Rust Killer".

    Tags: The few words that come to mind are: fun, potential, exploration, and engrossing.

    Quick Take: My original review within the first 10 hours was scathing. I gave it an initial score of 4/10 because of how unpolished it is and because of that, I quickly wrote it off as a dismal attempt at a game in a very saturated genre. I was wrong. I found myself frequently recalling how much fun I had reviewing the game. Which led to me reinstalling and relaunching my little, hellish world. Since writing that negative review, I've managed to play 72 additional hours within 2 weeks. For me, that has NEVER happened. 7 Days to Die isn't a particularly pretty game. It has no plot or setting in a larger world. At a glance seems like a very average survival game. I personally made the mistake of jumping the gun and judging too harshly. But why should you play what still sounds like a pretty average game? Because it is fun. Spectacularly fun. That is the #1 reason why I've decided to grade it an 8/10.

    Pros:
    - Incredibly fun. An end-of-your-chair thriller. You'll shirk your real-life responsibilities to play more.
    - Every building is its own dungeon of sorts. Incredibly varied - full of secret rooms, traps, and sweet loot. Also Zombies.
    - Strong RPG qualities - leveling, unexpectedly large skill tree, character builds/classes, and a large variety of quests.
    - Challenging AI. Even at a high level, the game finds ways to bring about more difficulty and more scares.
    - Finally, a post-apocalyptic survival game that could entirely be played and thoroughly enjoyed in a singleplayer mode.
    - Robust crafting system providing an abundance of items, resources, and materials to create a vast amount of objects.
    - Super customizable server/world options. Admin/singleplayer cheats are really, really fleshed out.
    - Can dismember and decapitate zombies.

    Cons:
    - Graphics and physics are quite unpolished. The world is missing a lot of the "filler" objects that make a world look less bare and cookie-cutter. Appearances often look vague, blocky, and sometimes out of place.
    - Vehicle physics are laughably bad.
    - Difficulty scales with leveling, but rewards do not appropriately scale.
    - Only non-enemy NPCs are basic traders/merchants.
    - Many of the non-combat paths seem like an after-thought. Very shallow.
    - Base building is tedious and boring. It's more useful to re-purpose and fortify existing in-game structures. This is often blocked/forbidden on online servers.
    - Leveling becomes SUPER slow to progress.
    - Quests often feel like either a waste of time or overly difficult & resource expensive to complete.
    - Online servers are a dime a dozen. Most public servers are empty/low-population or entirely looted. PVP is awkward and very unbalanced.

    Concept: Fully fleshed-out survival game. Strong RPG elements make for a more strategic and complex approach to gameplay. Survive and thrive in a world with zombies that are constantly evolving into stronger versions while also growing in numbers. Looters and dungeon explorers dreamland, which is incredibly important for keeping my attention and bringing back to find out "what's behind the next door".

    Graphics: Weak, but not awful. Has continually improved over time, but still needs a lot of polishing. A lot of objects, structures, and foliage look unnaturally places and all very similar looking. Cities are designed in the squarest fashion looking very fake.

    Sound: Appropriate for a survival horror genre. Mostly ambient sounds like crickets and the wind. It really makes for a more bleak, lonely feeling within this existence.

    Gameplay: Roller-coaster of intensity, energy, and noise. Sometimes the game is calm, peaceful, and quiet - and in a flash can quickly become loud, violent chaos that has erupted out of nowhere (see Blood Moons). It makes for a thrilling, at-the-edge-of-your-seat experience.

    Entertainment: Singleplayer brings a more paranoid, thriller of an experience. It's challenging, but also at your own pace. There is an incredible number of places to explore and secret, hidden-away places to find extraordinarily powerful loot. Playing with a few friends makes it even more compelling and entertaining of an experience. Very fun. Very rewarding.

    Replayability: The addition of leveling, skill tree, randomly generated worlds, and an ever-increasing difficulty of enemies and points of interest - there is much to come back to. Online, multiplayer servers are a big value-add for replay value.    … Expand

    Alpha 19 patch plays pretty good, u see the progress the game makes its just getting better and better, if they keep it up and somehow in the future release the game i will check it again.

    So far its worth its price u will have a lot of fun especially with friends.

    Geliştiricilerinin üzerinde çalışmayı bıraktığını düşündüğüm en iyi zombili, hayatta kalma oyunlarından birisi olabilir. İnşa açısından bayağı kapsamlı lakin dediğim gibi bayağı bir geliştirilmesi gerekiyor. Arkadaşlarınızla oynarsanız kesinlikle saracağını düşünüyorum ^^

    Another game I've put wayyy too much time into. Love the game, I wish it went somewhere, it's a bit too much of a sandbox with no structure though. Tons of fun...but eventually I just run out of anything I care about doing. I suspect this game will never reach 'release' status. I just tend to play it everyime there is a new major update.     Ultimate sandbox, zombie survival game like minecraft, DayZ, with horror elements. I'm really scared when 7 night come. With party is more fun.

Definitely DEFINITELY worth every penny and twice. If you haven't checked it yet - go buy it during the sale or full price, doesn't matter.     Это игра уместно вместила в себя приятные концепты и системы гейпмлея.
    Начнем по порядку.
    1) Огромный генерируемый мир 2) По сути это майнкрафт, ты можешь ломать все и тебя не остановят ( только зомби который свалились в твою яму) 3) Красота мира после апокалипсиса, разрабы не поленились и детально все нарисовали и построили! 4) Система навыков, тут разработчики игрались с ней с    Это игра уместно вместила в себя приятные концепты и системы гейпмлея.
    Начнем по порядку.

    4) Система навыков, тут разработчики игрались с ней с момента выхода, меняли создавали заново, но вышло более менее годно. Навыки реально интересные и влияют на крафт/урон/выживаемость и другие факторы!
    5) Продуман кооператив с другом! Миссии можно выполнять вдвоем и получать в 2 раза больше награды, это радует!
    6) Система base building! Строй свою крепость для защиты от орды зомби и черт побери - это интересно !
    7) Так же каждую 7 ночь в игре происходит наплыв зомби и нужно выживать, отстреливая их! Черт он бегут за тобой даже если ты под землей !
    8) Приятная картинка глазу
    9 Система крафта ( правда нужно искать схемы и инструменты для крафта что иногда нудно)
    10) В этой игре продуманы все подходы геймплея! Каждый найдет себе занятие ! Убивать зомби ? Строить дом? Копать шахты? Путешествовать ? Строить ферму овощей? Крафт? Все есть в этой игре и она максимально реиграбельна    … Expand

    Одна из лучших игры про выживание в мире зомби. Но разработчики должны приложить больше усилий, чтобы довести ее до релиза.

    В игре присутствует не много багов, они встречаются крайне редко, в плане графики не идеал, но смотрится в полне не плохо + есть моды(хотя они есть вообще на все и с модами игра очень сильно преображается в лучшую сторону), сочетание выживания+зомби+песочница в игре реализовано очень хорошо, без модов игра достойна 8 баллов, с модами все 9В игре присутствует не много багов, они встречаются крайне редко, в плане графики не идеал, но смотрится в полне не плохо + есть моды(хотя они есть вообще на все и с модами игра очень сильно преображается в лучшую сторону), сочетание выживания+зомби+песочница в игре реализовано очень хорошо, без модов игра достойна 8 баллов, с модами все 9

    отличная игра, наиграл уже более 1600 часов, начинал еще с 14 альфы, а скоро уже будет 20 альфа. С каждым обновлением выглядит все лучше и лучше.

    Хоть игра и не совсем оптимизирована, но по моему это один из лучших симулятор постапокалипсиса про зомби. Это не просто какая-то стрелялка где тебе нужно ходить по уже давно надоевшим локациям. Это песочница, здесь ты можешь построить всë что душе угодно от сельского туалета до огромной базы для защиты от орд зомби. Также здесь много разных настроек миров которые ты можешь выставить так,Хоть игра и не совсем оптимизирована, но по моему это один из лучших симулятор постапокалипсиса про зомби. Это не просто какая-то стрелялка где тебе нужно ходить по уже давно надоевшим локациям. Это песочница, здесь ты можешь построить всë что душе угодно от сельского туалета до огромной базы для защиты от орд зомби. Также здесь много разных настроек миров которые ты можешь выставить так, как тебе удобно (размеры генерируемой карты тоже можно изменять).… Expand

    Игра моего детства, если кто помнит эту игру в далёком 2015, то не надо её оценивать на 4-5 балла, тк данная игра все это время менялась(ДАА, ОНА ЭТО ДЕЛАЛА), игра преобразилась в 2019 году и честно заслуживает все 9-10 баллов

    Игрушка отличная, начал играть, как только вышла. Ух, как вспомню, когда еще мир кубический был))) Единственное, я надеюсь с оптимизацией всё таки разберутся. Наиграл в неё 3к часов.

    Начал играть в 2014 году. Игра с каждым обновлением становится всё лучше и лучше. Одна из моих любимых игр. Рекомендую!

    Сыграно уже более 1000 часов. Могу сказать так, да игра не идеальна, да в игре есть баги... но то как она затягивает своим геймплеем это - нечто! Мы с друзьями приметили её ещё в 2015 году, точно сказать не могу. Начали играть и по итогу всё наше свободное время было поглощено этой игрой! Мы исследовали мир, дома, фабрики, бились с ордами зомби! Было круто и весело, а ещё теперь выходятСыграно уже более 1000 часов. Не фан зомби тематики, но очень хорошо провожу время исследуя, создавая и вкл симулятор копотеля) Разработчики продолжают обновлять игру. Проблемы? Это альфа. Спустя сколько лет? 6? ДА это проблема: команда разработчиков не большая и они сами не знают когда примерно будет релиз.     After whopping 10 years spent in Steam’s Early Access, 7 Days to Die still feels unfinished, which makes it quite difficult to evaluate. My reason tells me to tear this game apart for tons of bugs and pretty much non-existent optimization, but my heart wants to give it a high rating. After all, I spent over a hundred hours in it and had fun for most of that time.

    7 Days to Die, in my opinion, is dated in a lot of ways. Some of the mechanics feel unnecessarily tedious, the game doesn’t look incredible, and the engine is undoubtedly on its last legs. In other ways, however, the game is revolutionary, featuring a core mechanic loop that I am shocked no other games have replicated and a surprising amount of player freedom in its gameplay. If nothing else, 7 Days to Die will quickly become the next Stardew Valley or Rogue, inspiring a variety of new games and becoming the forefather of its own genre.
