    A legendary game. One of the best games ever. For today it‘s a bit old, but it released 1998! One of the most important games ever and fun playing it today. I prefer the 3ds one, but the game on the N64 is also cool.

    Para mí no es el mejor juego de la Saga, pero si está en el Top 3, sin dudas es muy bueno, tiene una gran historia, los viajes en el tiempo son muy buenos, y que más puedo decir que no se haya dicho sobre éste gran juego

    Kinda overrated, still a great game. But (in my opinion at least) games as Windwaker and Breath of the wild are better, the exploration is way better. And the story was was more captivating. Don't get me wrong: Ocarina of time is still an amazing game, especially for the time. But it is not as good as it was.

    I'm one of those people who think that this is the greatest game of all time, no matter what quality games are out now or will be out ever. This is just plain the best game I've ever played. Why? Partly because it was the first good game I've actually played. When I first got a Nintendo 64 I was considerably young, and yet every game I played I thought was absolutely horrible. All I had were simple objective games, and as a child I thought they were hard and pointless. Then one day Ocarina of Time was brought home and I at first refused to play it. So I watched my uncle play it for a while, and straight away it was something entirely new and different. Also at the time, it was the most real (to me at least). What brought me in was the ability to actually explore and get to know people, even if the people you talked to all repeated the same things over and over no matter how many times you talked to them, but it didn't matter. This game was something new and exciting to me, and to this day I get this good old nostalgic feeling whenever I play it. It has one of the greatest stories of all time for a video game and was one of the first to create its own sort of universe and it was one of the first 3D environment game where you can see in all 360 degrees (after Mario 64 that is). Plus to this day people are still discovering new secrets to the game and so many in-depth theories arise from this title alone based upon this game that keep it interesting. The characters feel like characters and the visuals are some of the most cinematic of its time. The gameplay is also very fun, which of course is one of the most important things and there are very involving puzzles that are simple enough in appears but very complex when you get down to it. There is so much that I could say about this game, but sometimes even looking back, I'm at a loss of words at how awesome this game is.… Expand

    I would like to start this review by stating I don't have a bunch of nostalgia towards this game. The first time I played it was probably around 2007. Since that time, I have probably replayed this game and the masterquest at least 10 times. There is a reason this game is considered the best of all time.

    After reading the negative reviews I felt the need to review this game as well. It seems that most negative reviews either a) complained about the graphics of a game from 1998 or b) said they didn't finish it because it was too hard. Beyond that there was maybe 5 or 6 reviews that actually felt thought out beyond "graffiks bad so game bad".

    On to the good stuff. This game is beautifully written, musical scores are perfectly timed, and the freedom to progress the game as you see fit feels so good. It opens in this upbeat forest and things seem so happy and good. As you progress further you begin to realize that things aren't as happy as they seem.

    The ending fits into the Zelda saga perfectly and it really makes you sit back and think about everything you just went through. I loved this game. And if you are looking for a good Zelda game to get your start in the series, this fits perfectly.

    Personally, my favorite Zelda game is Twilight Princess, but this game still deserves a perfect 10/10.    … Expand

There were so many games that have been released over the years that have gained the title "Best ever", but this one, this one struck. It hit gold alright. Platinum. I'm not gonna lie, I thought the game was just unfair at first. I've gotten used to games where there are markers on the map or compass. A clear and distinct direction as to what/where the player should do or go. Being my first Zelda game, I was lost. I didn't know what to do at first. I didn't know how to act or where to go because the game doesn't give me the objectives directly. Ocarina of Time (and the other Zelda games as well) relies on player exploration. A player that, in order to progress through the game, had to explore almost every nook and cranny to progress through the story, and it was beautiful. I spent tons of hours into this game, finding new stuff to discover in every place I went to and the reliance on my intellect to do puzzles that were either really fun to do or just plain confusing and unentertaining. Now I'm not going to say that I didn't use guides because that would be very hypocritical of me, but I did. Not a Zelda veteran in case you still don't know lol. The story was really good and have twists that I didn't see coming, especially with Zelda. That hit hard. I like how the time travel stuff in this game doesn't get confusing nor convoluted as such with other different pieces of media that tackle the same concept and tries to explain too much. OoT had it simple with time travel. Though, I'm a little disappointed that going back through time wasn't utilized more in terms of importance to the story. Sure, the game makes you go back through time to get an essential item needed for the next temples and the gauntlet in the Spirit temple but that's basically it. It might be annoying for some people when the player constantly jumps to different timelines, but IMO, it would've been fantastic because the idea would've possibly explored more of the Pre-Ganon world and how things turned out the way it gets in the future within our and Kid Link's eyes. Plus, time travel is just fun. The combat system is cool and is what I mostly love about this game. It was really fun slashing up fiends while using the best tactics I need to come up to on the spot to get the upper hand against enemies and bosses. Speaking of bosses, OoT is probably the only game I've played so far that balances out the difficulty of each boss in every temple. They're not too hard nor too easy. And the final fight with Ganondorf was hype all the way through. I enjoyed that fight thoroughly and gave me insane amounts of goosebumps and sweat. The game's graphics aren't necessarily bad, but it doesn't hold up well compared to the pixilated entries of the Zelda franchise, primarily A Link to the Past. Is the soundtrack in OoT supposed to be soothing or eerily creepy? I hear both. All in all, it's just a great game from head to toe. Definitely deserves 10/10.… Expand

    In my opinion this is the second best game of the history. It has very good game play and mechanics (except the temple of water). The graphics are also very good for the time. If you haven't played this game you are stupid.

This game is widely regarded as not only the best Zelda game, but the best game ever made in general (although Majora's mask trumps this in my opinion) and for a damn good reason. The main plot of this game is probably the best one I've ever witnessed in a video game. It is very well made, with hidden secrets all across the game that are stillUndoubtedly one of the best games of all time. Out of all the Zelda games that I have played, the only one that pontentially ranks up to this caliber is the Stone Tower temple from Majora's Mask.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Nintendo basically started and stabilised norms on video games the way we know nowadays, period. But they didn’t know that the tendency of games having a deeper meaning and lore, would be something that fans would want and appreciate. Luckily, and I meant it, the history in OoT enable the Zelda team to create and fit all Zelda games in a (quite messy) timeline. OoT has a branch where Link coming back from the future creating the child timeline, the branch that he left behind the adult timeline, and finally the one where Le loses to Ganondorf, the downfall timeline. Which was a genius move to use OoT as fork.
    OoT created and break a lot of boundaries in the game world, have an amazing story, intriguing, by giving backstories to most of npcs, secrets, it’s fun, and entertaining. 11/10    … Expand

    This game is just amazing, I've played it on my childhood and I loved it, nowadays I bought a n64 just to be able to play it again and enjoy the temples/dungeon and soundtrack like the first time I played it as a child. If you have the opportunity to play it you should not miss it.

Is the Mona Lisa any less a classic just because it wouldn't hold up to the standards of modern pieces? Would you give your grandmother a 2/10 simply because she is old? BUT, you may wish to thank Ocarina of Time for the modern gameplay mechanics/environments/stories/etc. that you take for granted now - because it certainly (whether you'd like to believe so or not) paved the way for all of them. Seguir a jornada de Link em hyrule atrás dos fragmentos da tri force foi algo lindo, vivendo o passado com hyrule em seus dias de glória e ver isso mudar para um reino sombrio cheio de perigos.     Added "Z-Targetting" or targeting enemies, which was a great implementation of the genre (for those who say there isn't!)
    and apart from "the temple of the water here and the temple of the water there" yes, it is a bad temple. But you know? The game has other good aspects. The story and character design is good, with a lot of races.
    And it is still improved with the 3ds remake, which improves the graphics and controls, making the water temple and the damn balloon game better for this version (Some put a 2 or a 0 for the balloon minigame, Oh my!)
    In my opinion, a true art that any fan of video games should play at least 1 time. And in my opinion, it has not aged badly at all, it is still pleasant to play, and well, if the controls or graphics bother you a lot, you can play the 3ds remake! Let nothing stop you wanting to play this masterpiece.    … Expand

    This is, undoubtedly the best game I have ever played. I grew up playing this on the 3DS remaster and I've never had more fun, this game has everything you could ever want; a good story, interesting characters and a banging soundtrack... What more could you want? It will allways hold a special place in my heart which is why I believe this to be the best game I've ever played/has ever been.

    First of all, play this on the 3ds. The only thing it adds is boss rush, and it makes the water temple a LOT better, which is the only bad part of the entire game. After playing the water temple on oot 3d, its literally my favorite dungeon. But this is my second favorite game of all time, buy it.

This game was King of the N64 with Super Mario 64 being the closest thing to it. Otherwise, the dungeons are great. Gohma and King Dodongo are very easy, Morpha is underwhelming, but other than those, the bosses are great. The story is also cool. The concept of time travel is executed greatly. I can see it's bad graphics, but it came out in 1998, so that's why. It's an amazing game that you should play… Expand

    It is difficult to describe how this game has helped me judge the quality of a game for the rest of my life. This game was amazing to me as a kid, is still amazing to me today. One of the best.

    Aún no tengo palabras para describir lo que este juego me ha hecho sentir, sin duda alguna puedo decir que es el mejor juego de la historia y mi favorito. Me ayudó muchísimo en su momento.     One of the best games i ever played, no matter what people say about this game, it is a masterpiece. I recently played it again, at first I was afraid that it was not as good as they had told me but it turned out to be one of the best experiences of video games

    As the name says The Legend of Zelda has lived up to its full potential becoming an everlasting experience that has aged perfectly fine, even to this day getting your hands on an original copy of this game feels truly magical like the first time I played it back on the Nintendo 64 era. Gaming industry wouldn’t be the same without this monster of the game, arguably the best game ever made.

    I just finished the 3DS version. And I love it. It was amazing and I feel like I’m going to be replaying it soon haha. I loved the music, the boss design, the characters are so special and each one of them shine in their own. And this princess zelda is my new favorite along with the princess of twilight. A masterpiece.

Сюжет хоть и был довольно простой, но сопровождался обилием кинематографических вставочек на движке игры. Особенно порадовала демонстрация эмоций персонажей через сменяющие друг друга модельки лиц, для тех времён вполне неплохо. Графика хоть в целом и слабенька, но высокое внимание к деталям это дело компенсирует сполна.

    Трудно представить, насколько круто окарина времени воспринималась тогда, если даже сейчас она неплохо играется, разве что управление и камера могут показаться неудобными, но это мелочи. У нас тут небольшой, зато компактный мир, где на каждом шагу либо секретка, либо мини игра. Линк постоянно приобретает всё новые и новые инструменты, от грамотного использования которых и зависит продвижение дальше, так что всё завязано на внимательности и смекалки игрока, а не на прокачке чего либо. Можно конечно качать здоровье через поиск секретных сердечек, но это не более чем дополнительные права на ошибку. В общем, образцовая игра от нинтендо и довольно знаковая для индустрии в целом.    … Expand

Both are great times, and OoT is a fantastic game I would recommend anyone. My only gripe is that it can get a little boring sometimes, running around Death Mountain for the how many-th time. Everyone keeps comparing this to BotW, but if it wasn't because of this game, BotW wouldn't even exist. This game created the 3D Zelda gameplay we all know and love. If you are going to complain about the graphics, then play Ocarina of Time 3D and stop complaining about it. I think that's all I have to say. You should definetly play this. Even today I don't even know what makes it so special and addicting, and I've played it 3 times by now.    … Expand
