Nov 15, 2011This is a platformer with great animation and a fun world that doesn't take itself too seriously. Nothing revolutionary here, but players should be happy.
-
Nov 1, 2011It's certainly one of the better virtual control schemes and you'll only occasionally find problems with it, especially when required to jump and attack, but overall, it retains the engaging gameplay from the original.
-
Nov 1, 2011Fans of the Metroidvania genre of platformer will find a great example of the genre here.
-
Oct 31, 2011A terrific port for this substantial side-scroller that comes highly recommended if you haven't played the DS original.
-
Oct 29, 2011This is the same Shantae: Risky's Revenge we know and love, but on much better screens. If you beat this game months ago, there's little reason to download it again. If, on the other hand, this is your first time playing, then by all means. It's $2.99 well spent.
-
Nov 2, 2011Add the odd cruelly-placed save point, and you've got an adventure that occasionally explores the agonies, as well as the ecstasies, of gaming's past. At least it's honest.

Oct 31, 2011But in the mobile space (no matter the platform) we need to be able to save and quit in a heartbeat. Maybe we're grabbing a fast turn while waiting in line for coffee, or staving off a few minutes of boredom on our lunch breaks. We game on a micro-level on these devices, and the games need to understand and respect that. It's unforgivable to expect us to have the time or where-with-all to find the stupid save point just so we can hit "home" and get on with our lives.
