    This game deliberately unfairly disadvantages minors and even some adults. If you're not allowed to go anywhere then you can't get anything in this game, besides there's WAY too much grinding for rewards you'll never get.

    Don't waste your time or money on this garbage and get Emerald or Platinum instead.

    This game is such a good idea conceptually. The theme around all of the Pokémon series is travelling the world, discovering Pokémon, and having the ability to do so in the real world is a great idea. However, this game slowly became less of a game and more of a billboard. Nowadays, if you want to get a specific, early-game Pokémon, you have to wait for a celebration of that specificThis game is such a good idea conceptually. Additionally, with the seasonal events and missions, the game seems to revolve more around marking your calendar and going to a real-world event rather than playing the game normally. Another problem is that as you progress through the game, certain goals will have to be reached, some of which are unrealistically challenging or entirely luck-based. Some features are also limited to certain areas or require transportation or other things in the real world that may not be available to all players.
    In conclusion, I think that this game started off alright, but slowly became desperate for content and community involvement as the years went on.    … Expand

    Pokémon GO is the result of not listening to your community + heavy monetization of your game. The change to Remote Passes was the nail in the coffin, and it just showed how little communication there was between Niantic and the playerbase. The game doesn't feel rewarding enough to motivate you and go out to get some new Pokémons, and Niantic knows that.     Pokemon go is the Most Overated Pokemon games of all time. It was an awesome game in 2016 but then It started to became horrible. Nothing is good about this Game anymore. They have completely ruined The best Part about this Game the gyms. It used to be you have to stay in a gym for as long as as possible and if you are able to stay in a gym for a full day you will get a Pokècoin and ifPokemon go is the Most Overated Pokemon games of all time. But Now it's is if you stay in a gym for one day you get 50 coins and that is it if you have two pokemon in different gyms and they both last. One day it is still 50 coins. It ruined the fun out of gyms and if it is torchering to see your pokemon staying in a gym for really long that you are begging for some one to take you out. Their is A crap toon of. It is annoying for your bag to be full or you're pokemon storage to be full. Peapole are stupid enough to complain that pokemon unite a game that is actually Awesome about their Microtransactions awhich aren't even that bad, but But not Pokemon Go. The game has a crap ton of glitches, The sound is hard to listen to because it sounds terrible, and the grafics are trash.     Game is still glitchy, BUT the worst thing is Niantic. Every time they see a way to exploit their customers they do it immediately. The second they started selling balls in the store they made pokemon take 3 times as many balls to catch. (they do this periodically still), This month they made "remote battle passes" so they dropped the capture rate from 95% to 40% so now you Have to buyGame is still glitchy, BUT the worst thing is Niantic.     Garbage support, no humans to talk to even after all the information they had asked for had been provided. The pvp system is very shady and seems like no matter what you do your team is always at a disadvantage. The game is so buggy that for them to have in game purhasrs is a bold move indeed. Don't go anywhere near any of their games, especially Pokemon GO.

    This is a game which is trivial to beat but almost impossible to enjoy. It is the antithesis of every Pokemon game before it. Resources collection is miserly and time consuming. There are still horrendous, game-breaking bugs after nearly 3 years which Niantic has absolutely no interest in fixing.

    The battles are just see who can tap the fastest and who has spent the most money on this game.

    While pretty fun at first this game gets incredibly repetitive after a while and the updates haven't helped. I stopped playing it after a couple of months and the only thing that kept me still playing up until that point was the fact that some of my friends also played it and we had fun together.     The thrill of walking around, exploring was awesome, really unique and innovative. But the battling gameplay was rubbish and the app drained battery life too fast.

    Its fun for a while. After you catch all the Pokemon, it just gets boring. Same Pokemon, same everything. The updates are awful. Nothing good. They seem to disable the game with each update. It won't even work if you go like 5-10mph. Very buggy too. Come on Nantic, stop sitting around with billions of dollars partying and make your stupid game better.     Honestly, I don't see why many people are so into such a dangerous app game. I only played it a little bit, and about the only /real/ entertainment I got from playing it is when I took a photo of my pet ferret with a Horsea last year.

    If you one of those gamers who really don't want to get hurt, let alone get killed irl, I strongly advise you avoid this (cr)app game.

    No se puede pelear con los pokemons, simplemente te los encuentras y les arrojas pokebolas mientras hacen el tonto saltando y haciendo ruidos esperando a que los atrapes. No poder usar tus pokemons implica no poder levelearlos, y para esto metieron un hilarante sistema de "caramelos mágicos sacados del c***", donde al darle esos caramelos los "leveleas", ¿para qué?, para nada, porque noNo se puede pelear con los pokemons, simplemente te los encuentras y les arrojas pokebolas mientras hacen el tonto saltando y haciendo ruidos esperando a que los atrapes. No poder usar tus pokemons implica no poder levelearlos, y para esto metieron un hilarante sistema de "caramelos mágicos sacados del c***", donde al darle esos caramelos los "leveleas", ¿para qué?, para nada, porque no pode usarlos para combatir ni npc, ni gimnasios, ni siquiera pokemon salvajes o duel. Solo podes meterlos en bases y pelear contra pokemons de otras personas de una forma pobre y patética comparada con todos los demás juegos de Pokemon.

    Dejando la jugabilidad de lado, el juego consta en hacerte salir todos los días a caminar 90 kilómetros para atrapar 2 putos pidgey y 5 ratata, y de paso perder tu celular en el camino porque algún ladrón te lo robó.
    ¿Quién carajo tiene tanto tiempo libre para salir a caminar todos los puitos días y encontrarse todos los días con lo mismo?, con pidgeys y ratatas.
    Además de esa estupidez sin sentido, está el hecho de que hay pokemons que solo se encuentran en ciertos lugares del mundo, yo supongo que los creadores de este juego eran tan ajenos al mundo real, que de alguna forma se imaginaron que la gente tiene dinero suficiente como para viajar a distintas partes del mundo por un puto bicho virtual.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It was promising when it was advertised/first came out, but now it's just gone down hill. This game probably had the most potential and most hype in the history of games, but absolutely failed to deliver.

    - Rural areas, and even some suburban areas, are completely screwed over because barely any pokémon spawn there. This effectively cuts out a good chunk of their playerbase, and a good chunk out of their score. (-2)

    - The battle system is only kept for gym battles. (-1)

    - Everything is repetitive. I don't know anyone, online or offline, who still plays Pokémon Go. There's nothing fun or anything new to do any more. (-1)

    - There's no major updates (besides generation updates, which are going to happen every blue moon). (-1)

    - Niantic is too afraid to modify the game (in terms of actual gameplay, not pokémon) after they published it. No Pokéstops/gyms have been added/removed from Niantic, and there's not much players can do to modify/improve the game (-1)

    - Speaking of Niantic, let's face it, Pokémon Go is just a reskinned Ingress with pokémon involved. (-1)

    Overall, they did have a good idea (which I'll give a +1 for), but they ultimately failed to bring it to what it was expected to be.    … Expand

The sucess of Go to me was the simple early game progression as the community as a whole slowly grew in power and gained more cooler and rarer Pokemon, watching Gyms go from Pidgeottos to Charizards to Dragonites. Once that community progession halted andIt's hard to deny the overwhelming success of Go and the impact on popular culture, however, as a game, its far too starved of content. The sucess of Go to me was the simple early game progression as the community as a whole slowly grew in power and gained more cooler and rarer Pokemon, watching Gyms go from Pidgeottos to Charizards to Dragonites. Once that community progession halted and levels would theoretically take around a month and your Pokedex was filled it really lost its charm and became a grind for that extra bit of CP or evolve that final rare Pokemon which you already know your Dragonite is superior to and youll never use it.

    Gen 2 helped but adding new Pokemon along the road in a game like this isnt going relight that flame.    … Expand

This idea did take off and was able to initially get players to go outside and experience the idea of catching the original 150 Pokemon, reflecting on the 20th anniversary of Nintendo's Pocket Monsters.The idea of Pokemon Go is definitely a great idea that could define a era where gamers not only can play games, but also engage in exercise, social interactions and get outside more. This idea did take off and was able to initially get players to go outside and experience the idea of catching the original 150 Pokemon, reflecting on the 20th anniversary of Nintendo's Pocket Monsters. Unfortunately, Pokemon GO is no different of a mobile game than say diner dash, candy crush or clash of clans and by its third month of release, the hype died fast. The launching of the app came with a myriad of problems: awful crashing, using lures to get people to be robbed, raped or beaten up, putting pokemon in holy and respected establishments that caused outrage, rural areas had virtually no diversity in pokemon, terrible rng based pokemon catching that any main Pokemon title could do better and maintenance that kept players away from the app when it was supposedly ready for launch.

    The influx of downloads might have been a reason why it was unprepared, but when you take a iconic name and know that many who are downloading are the same people that played the originals as kids (along with being one of the most popular franchises of all time across most of the world) you should have anticipated more and refine your systems to handle it better. Making a team based allegiance on top of that (with stupid memes and competition) is just downright pointless. Because it is free and a mobile game, it also sells lures and other microtransactions that go through your time duration even if you are not on the game! It is stupid and should never be allowed.

    The updates of adding the Johto region is admirable, but with over 700 Pokemon now, it is much easier to just play on the 3DS of any of the new or latest Pokemon games and trade and catch there. Also it's combat is better too, and if you can't get THAT right, then you defeated your own concept entirely. Overall, Pokemon GO is a subpar app that has cool concepts that are mired by technical and social problems that plague it to this very day.    … Expand

I caught pokemon after pokemon and it was so much fun. Now the game has turned into rubbish. Niantic, you can go jump in a lake with this pile of crap. You made it so that YOU CANNOT EVEN PLAY THEWould give this NEGATIVE stars if I could. This was a game I lived for when it first came out back in July. It seemed like an awesome game, so I figured why not play it? I was hooked instantly. I caught pokemon after pokemon and it was so much fun. Now the game has turned into rubbish. Niantic, you can go jump in a lake with this pile of crap. You made it so that YOU CANNOT EVEN PLAY THE GAME IN A CAR PERIOD as a passenger, and I cannot even do anything more than a brisk walk and the game will cease to function. All that is in my area is dumb common pokemon, or nothing at all. I will not recommend even my worst enemy play this pile of trash. I would highly recommend getting Pokemon Sun and Moon if you haven't done so already, its by far a much better game. Even when and if Generation 2 comes out, it won't be fun anymore because you cant even use the game anywhere. This game sucks and I am so upset that Niantic had to turn it into this.....this terrible excuse for a game. I really am flabbergasted as to why they'd do this, but something is telling me they want people to PAY instead of make it a free game. Goodbye Pokemon Go and good riddance.     What started off being a great concept, was quickly driven sub surface by a bunch of Californian air heads who from their Ivory tower thought up how they wanted the game to run. No rooted device, no travelling over 30mph, no mapping software be it theirs or 3rd party and why? Because they want you to go wandering around doing a f*cking history tour of all the pokestops. It seems like Niantic had already cashed out and have abandoned the game. So sad. Don't waste your time, this game is going no where, learn from our mistake, you can skip this game without any regrets.     You don’t even have to like Pokémon to enjoy Pokémon Go. During the previous year, Pokémon Go has tuned its ideas and it’s now even more original and addictive. This is a one-of-a-kind game.

    Improvements and additions over time – including the Raid-style events for catching legendary Pokémon, as teased in the original trailer – as well as ongoing tweaks to fundamental systems stand to improve Pokémon Go as a game, but the quality (and novelty) of the experience of playing, particularly as part of a group, is already there. Go could still one day be the legendary game its immense potential hints at.
