    While Galaxy of Pen & Paper does have some flaws in terms of customization options, it’s still an enjoyable game. I love the pixel art style and the chiptunes are fantastic. There is plenty of content in the game to go through, so this is a title I’ll be playing for a while. The dialogue is humorous, the battle system is fairly streamlined, and it’s overall quite challenging. I’d recommend giving Galaxy of Pen & Paper a try if you’re into D&D or role-playing games in general.

    Expanding the original Pen and Paper formula, this new game from Behold offers more space but almost the same structure, with its strengths (humour, characters management) and flaws (repetitive quests).

    The core design of Galaxy of Pen & Paper represents a solid improvement over the original game. It has more new ideas and executes on them better than Knights of Pen & Paper 2 did. The production values feel a lot higher, too. Overall, you can feel the years of gained experience between the game that made Behold's name and their return to the brand. I just wish they would allocate more points into their bug-busting and difficulty balancing skills. I suppose it says something that even with its flaws, I still think RPG fans definitely ought to check this one out.

    Galaxy of Pen & Paper may not fill you with exactly the same delight as Knights did when it first came out, but it’s a welcome way to extend the fun and probably the most logical direction to go after two journeys into fantasy. Space, we welcome your vastness and look forward to taking these new quests as far as they go.

    If Galaxy of Pen and Paper were simply a sci-fi reskin of Knight of Pen and Paper, it would be a fine–although underwhelming–game. As is stands now though, almost everything Galaxy of Pen and Paper does to differentiate itself seems to either make it perform worse or find some other way to be frustrating. Simply put, if you're looking for a sci-fi RPG to enjoy, look elsewhere. This is not the game you're looking for.

    Galaxy of Pen & Paper is one of the most fun games I've ever played. It is a blast of nostalgia that takes me back to the late nineties when IGalaxy of Pen & Paper is one of the most fun games I've ever played. It is a blast of nostalgia that takes me back to the late nineties when I was playing colorful turn based rpgs on the television and playing in colorful worlds of the mind using the GURPS on my kitchen table with friends.
    This game is funny, filled with quips and running jokes. It functions on this beautifully crafter meta-level where your interactions with your friends who are playing the campaign are as important as the battles you are playing in the campaign.
    Speaking of battles, both the ground battles and ship battles are engaging and familiar. The skills system is versatile and easy to switch between useful attack and support options.
    The real strength of the game is it's story. It's not emotionally impacting, it's transporting. It successfully put me back into my childhood. The table of characters have wonderful dialogue options that make you feel like both the GM and the players. The supporting NPCs are funny and surprisingly self aware and the villains are straight out of Saturday morning cartoons.
    The only issues were with non-consequential NPCs, they were roped to one of four dialogue choices. I experienced one bug, that resolved itself with a reload.
    This game is five dollars but it feels like a game of a much higher caliber. Please buy this game, it will make you giddy with nostalgic glee and engage you the entire time. Behold Studios should know that this game is wonderful and that they should continue in their current direction.    … Full Review »
