    Diablo Immortal uses many, if not all and more, of the most blatant and egregious monetization practices to extract money from the you. It is an embarrassment that this game left development with the way it is currently monetized.

    Avoid at all costs.

    Every single aspect of the game is monetised. The rest of Diablo Immortal is so heavily monetised it makes cheap Chinese money sinks blush.

    The core gameplay centres around gems. Specifically "legendary" gems. While Diablo has four tiers of equipment, the bulk of their power comes from gems. With legendary gems providing the most power and utility. Legendary gems can not only be upgraded to increase their base stats, but they can also be socketed to allow for further upgrades, deepening not only the need to grind but also the temptation to use your credit cards as a shortcut.

    To obtain these legendary gems (or the materials required to create them from scratch) requires money. A legendary gem can be obtained via "free" options, but the chances of obtaining a five star gem without spending any money are so rare they may as well be non-existent.

    As gems are the backbone of endgame/competitive gameplay the means of acquiring them are heavily monetised. As disgusting as this practice is, its made even more abhorrent by the way it is pushed. Every single accomplishment in this game is punctuated by an alert to the store to purchase some pack with an arbitrary value attached to it, ie this pack has "400%" extra.

    The core game is solid enough from a gameplay perspective. It is a Diablo game at heart. Though its essential a remix of Diablo 3 with many assets cribbed from it. The extra layer of complexity added to it via the gems mechanic would be welcome, if it didn't have such a heavy price tag associated with it.

    Bugs are heavily prevalent with it. With items being lost, primary attacks not registering due to latency issues, HDR/gamma settings on PC making the game hideous to look at, the map overlay bleeding out of the map window onto the entire screen making things hard to read, controllers not being registered at certain points of the game etc. This kind of thing could be forgiven during a beta, but added into a very unsavoury mess of microtransactions that take advantage of addictive personality behaviour, the whole package leaves a very sour taste in the mouth.

    Games like Diablo Immortal should be banned outright. At this point it isn't a point of a game being paid to win, its a question of a game outright preying on people's weaknesses. Just because there are no blatant lootboxes in the game doesn't mean that gambling mechanics aren't present. This philosophy of game design isn't just cynical, its a blatant disregard for it's players', sorry, customers' well being.

    The only thing this game did was make me reinstall Diablo 3 for nostalgia's sake.    … Expand

    You need $100,000+ to max out 1 character. I am NOT exaggerating - look it up. Someone actually calculated that you need this much to max out one character. And there are seasons, so you will need to spend this again in another season.     Game is clearly targeted towards Asian audience where such monetization is culturally acceptable. DI presence in the west is simply a byproduct.
    Game itself is too easy, there is no need to dodge anything to kill even boss enemies. Ofc all that is correct until the point where everything is too hard without spending.

    It's sadly a pure lootbox and payment $#!tshow. The game could be good, but to be honest it is just a great capitalistic nightmare. The whole loot and equip progression is built to generate purchases and if you just want to play the game you are nearly locked into not progressing at all. Such mechanics should be forbidden by law like in Belgium and the Netherlands!

Due to the limitations of being a mobile game, things are extremely slow and boring, the monster density is pathetic and the game just feels a lot clunkier than D3 or D2R. On top of that, the PC port is the worst port blizzard has ever done.Even if you think the P2W aspects aren't that bad, or you are a whale that doesn't care about it, there's only a mediocre diablo experience here.     So i played this game for a total of 2 hours, before I fell asleep. The gameplay is boring, I didn't have to think at all, skills are basic, with absolutely no modifiers to them. No passive skill trees, no talents, no nothing. All the customization you can do to your character probably unlocks at level 50+ (which im assuming is gems in gems). if you don't want to grind 5 years for aSo i played this game for a total of 2 hours, before I fell asleep.     In my opinion, the visuals and combat is pretty good with all things considered but it is 100% P2W. Not to mention the bugs and unfinished polish of the game make it seem like an absolute joke. Some of the npcs that are supposed to be walking will get stuck in a T-pose state. They will still move to where they need to tho.     What a shame, and completely unnecessary. Blizzard sold over 30 million copies of Diablo 3, there was NO reason to go "pay to win". They got gready, and they will likely end up loosing money on this deal. Instead of selling another 30 million plus copies, at 60-30 dollars a pop, instead, they will be forgotten in a month.

    To touch on my latter statement from the above. If you play the game through and through, you WILL be time gated for a month. You need gems to upgrade gear. However, by playing without the assistance of using real life money you can only obtain like... 3 gems per MONTH. But.... if you buy it all off the of the cash store well you can keep going. Blizzard implemented a "feel bad" system where if you buy a gem and it doesn't proc to an legendary gem you have to pay a little over $100 for the system to auto-proc that for you. Keep in mind that ONE proc could take $100. Now do that at least 12 times. Note! I haven't even gotten into the deeper microtransactional problems either. Haven't explored that and I never will. Miss me with all of this digesting and reprehensible system. I'm good.

    Disclaimer. Personally, I do not care about paying with real money for in-game cosmetics. You know, things that do not make your character more powerful in any way possible. I can literally care less. Even if those looks are better than anything farmable, again zero F's given.

    Final note, Diablo Immortal reviews are currently deactivated on google. You search for "diablo immortal review" and you are redirected to critic reviews. Which the world over knows they are literal shrills who have sold their souls for a $40k/salary to these degenerate gaming companies while simultaneously pretend to be the public gamers best friend.     Good gameplay, however Very pay to win, can pay to have better drop rates for the end game grind, and buy the materials to craft essential things, via platinum. Blizzard made this shameless cash grab, this is basically pay to win Diablo 3.

I really hope that one day politicians will finally catch on what's going on in the gaming industry and ban all kinds of microtransactions outright.     I've been a Diablo fan for some time, and I was excited for this game, after several hours of playing I came to the conclusion that it's not worth wasting my time, the gameplay is not bad, but p2w practices jeopardize the whole good experience, don't waste your time with this garbage, unfortunately I don't have hope in blizzard anymore.

    Diablo Immortal is a great ARPG game but it is has one major problem. Gear, and character overall progression is P2W. This is a big problem is mobile gaming alone but Blizzard took this situation and made it worse! I was really looking forward to this game but I will no longer support this game or any company that monetize player progression with in app purchases.

    This game uses a ton of recycled diablo 3 content. It is insanely aggressively pay to win, packed with mtx and is a massive scam. Do not play this, do not buy anything.     I'm bothered by the bland story of the world's destruction, which was vehemently influenced by the online nature and spirit of the game or the inability to change the camera. The game looks and runs very well, and you can also adjust the graphics settings on more powerful devices. I'd leave the disdain for the online elements of Diablo Immortal to the eternally doubting and overlooking, because just as you can recognize a good poem, you can recognize a fundamentally good game.     It is undeniable that Diablo Immortal's monetization system has problems and makes the more advanced stages of the adventure unpleasant, but the fact remains that the Blizzard title has brought one of the best experiences in the action RPG field to the mobile market, and it really is difficult to find on the App Store and Google Play Store another free to play with such high production values. Diablo Immortal is an excellent pastime for those who want to complete the long cooperative campaign and, above all, could represent the perfect entry point for those who have never approached the series: even without putting their wallet in, in fact, it remains a pleasant adventure to live while waiting for the fourth chapter to make its debut on the shelves.
