    This is an excellent, well polished, competitive game. You can pay or you can be free to play (like me), but the developers show that they care for both kinds of players. Sure, you will lose, because others have to win sometimes. People who pay will have easier access to the most rare cards, but F2P can get them too eventually, and they are not necessarily better.     It is very competitive, and in matches you will be paired against people who has scored a similar number of victory points (trophies) as you, regardless of card level and strength. Some think that it is not fair, but it is in fact the fairest pairing method.
    It is interesting how many hate reviews are there in the users side, and that may be because the game is very intense and causes adrenaline rushes and strong emotions. Give it a try and try not to get addicted. I have been playing this for 6 months and it's been great :-)    … Expand

    Highly recommended to play, this proposal Supercell is really addictive and recommended, with a simpler mechanics for the casual player and the addition of several good characters. Perhaps many fans of the series may not like, but I charm. Of course it is not a 10, but we must try to match as many unnecessary negative comments.

    You guys have it all wrong. This is a must-play, strategy game. It is not a pay to win, I am currently a lvl 9 player with 3400 trophies (at the highest arena) and I haven't pay a cent. The game is addictive and simple but at the same time you need a lot of strategy and fast thinking. The developers are always balancing the cards to make the game fair. It's quite simple, the one thatYou guys have it all wrong. This is a must-play, strategy game.     Best game ever! Highly addictive and fun, battle with your friends too. Gets frustrating at times, but all good games do! New cards are constantly being added in, so it never gets old. Also good social glue. 10/10 everyone must play.

    I've been playing Clash Royale for three years now. Some may critic the lack of progression, but this is non sense. The game is the same don't matter how much you progress. Hard duels, intelligent gameplay and strategic thinking about your cards. Play it right now if you haven't.

    HogRIder_officil here, I plan to give this game a 10/10, regardless of this not meausuring up to the OG COC, I still find it of Highly Standard comparing it to the MotherLand that was COC, great visuals as well, and won't lie to you I'd like to get me some of that Mother WItch cheeee.... se.     You start with your deck of 8 cards which compared to games like magic that use 60 cards might seem like you wouldn't have enough cards to do much but it actually works really well you will soon find yourself playing this game as much As you can. You open the game and start with battling the first trainer as you place your troops down they charge across the battlefield towards the enemies towers, the trainer places their own cards and the strategy begins. You begin to figure out how to counter the enemy troops and edit your deck. You figure out what troops work well together. Whe way the troops work is you have a ten elixir which is always regenerating every troop is worth a certain amount of elixir when you place that troop th takes it away from the elixir that is saved up so this way it isn't just spamming troops.
    Every win you receive a chest which has new cards and coins. The chests all take a certain amount of time to unlock for example, if you get a silver chest it takes 3 hours to unlock so you would generally unlock one during the day where as a gold chest takes 8 hours to you would probably want to unlock it over night. As your deck grows you can upgrade the cards you already have with the coins you receive and integrate the new cards into your deck.
    The ranking system is based on wins. Every win you will receive a certain amount of trophies, the more trophies you get new arenas are unlocked and new cards can be discovered. Real money can be spent on this game to buy more coins or chests that are super rare. When you get a certain amount of trophies you can make or join a clan. If your friends are in the same clan you can friendly battle each other. When you friendly battle you don't lose or gain trophies but you can prove yourself the best among your friends.
    Overall this game is very well made and is super addicting. It's really easy to learn and figure out the game never gets boring because you are always battling new people and getting new cards. Once you find that deck that works well for you there is no stopping you!    … Expand

However, that is just because they don't think that they are able to reach the top without winning. I am one of the top people and I haven't spent a penny. You just need to learn how to play the game. The balancing was very well done in my opinion and they are constantly updating the game to balance it even more. The gameplay is fun and almost never gets old. You can donate cards to friends and battle them which is always a blast. The only thing that can make this game better is if Supercell figures out a way to have clan wars.… Expand

    This is the best mobile game of 2016, period. The card system is great, and balancing is never an issue. It is a free to play card-tower defense game. I really like this game, the card system is really good.

    aunque en sus inicios era muy pay to win la diferencia con ahora es mucha aunque claramente alguien que gaste dinero en el juego tendra una ventaja considerable contra uno que no con las actulizaciones los jugadores que no gastamos en el juego podemos disfrutarlo al mismo nivel ademas de que supercell no ha abandonado al juego ni a su comunidad

    Great game, it is sometimes good to have a challenge and it is very simple and straight forward. And no card is too "OP" (e.g. Prince, which can be countered by Barbs or Skeleton Army). However, the only thing that prevents a 10 is Chest Opening times and Gems being needed for quite a lot of stuff.

    -Some games I found my self against someone with 2 level higher cards.

    -Also, some cards need to be nerfed very badly. These cards can easily destroy your towers and ca make you want to rip your hair out when you have to face them. (Witch,Balloon,Princes)

    -Also I do find that opening chests take annoyingly long to open.

    Positives:

    -Being able to face your clan mates is fun and you truly test who is the best in your clan.

    -The level up or tower gets stronger is a point a like about the game. (if you reach level 3 then your tower becomes a level 3 tower that can take more damage and deal out more)

    -It has great strategy on that you have to out do your challenger while you both have the same elixer points.

    Was totally addicted to this game, but when I reached royal arena (pretty far away from the start) it's become too boring and too punishing for me. I get too many ties and too many loses and I don't know why. But I can't say this game isn't good, I even think it's really a masterpiece, but you have to pay money to feel good at higher arenas.

Clash Royale is a card based game with the sole objective on either have more towers destroyed than your opponent(s) when the time runs out, or destroy your opponent(s) King Tower. Clash Royale has two different battle types: 1v1 and 2v2. Alongside these, different game modes occur in event fashion (come into the game, then leave shortly after) such as “2v2 Draft Challenge” where you, your teammate, and two opponents concurrently build decks for that individual game by four rounds of picking 1 of 2 cards you’re randomly presented with. The cards you don’t select will go to an opponent. Game modes like this is what keeps the game lively and new alongside Supercell’s (developers) constant updates including new cards, new arenas, etc.

    Why does this game deserve such a high score? From reading the negative reviews as well as hearing the opinions of my colleagues, I get the gist of the negativity is from the “pay-to-win” aspect “unbalanced” cards, and “broken” matchmaking. There are some issues amongst these that warrant a bit of negativity, albeit not as much. Instead of “pay-to-win” I’d like to call it ‘pay-to-gain’ as “pay-to-win” suggests that those not paying are losing, which is untrue. The game is designed for growth to be slower as you progress, it is meant to be a challenge. The microtransactions allow you to buy gems, aka the reigning currency in Clash Royale. With gems you can buy coin, chests, enter in challenges or open battle chests immediately. Buying gems allows you to rapidly grow by opening chests such as the “Super Magical Chest” which guarantees a plethora of cards and a rather large chance of a legendary in comparison to say a golden chest. This then allows you to upgrade your cards and/or use new ones you got from the chest to battle people that most likely do not have the same cards and card levels as you, giving you the ultimate advantage. This may seem like blatant P2W but this person will not always be here. The person will climb in trophies until they’re at a stalemate where they cannot progress because they’re at the point in which they need to play to get cards, or spend more money. Very few times have I been in a game where my opponent(s) had cards that were way above my levels. My point is is that you don’t have to pay to be good at the game, albeit it does take patience to grow. For the pay-to-gain aspect, I have docked 1 point from 10.

    The unbalanced cards argument I completely disagree with. Sure there have been instances where a card was clearly OP (overpowered), but they were nerfed (changed in a way to make them not as good, but still a viable card to use). Every card has its own use, and it heavily depends on the components of your opponent's deck to fill those uses. Sometimes you will just be bested, your deck might be the deck your opponent counters well and sometimes you’ll have a deck that destroys your opponent. Luck does play a part. The speed in which Supercell updates the game tackles any instance of unbalanced cards.

    The matchmaking in Clash Royale is based on your trophies. Your trophies determine who you battle and what arena you’re in. People have complained that sometimes (though rarely in my experience) you will face someone who is higher level with higher level cards. This happens because the higher level player has dropped trophies on purpose and I do think that there should be prevention to this because on one hand there’s losing, on the other is purposefully dropping trophies to face people you can easily destroy. Matchmaking speeds are almost instant as people (me included) are unable to cancel the search for battle because of how quick it is. For this reason I docked 1 point from 10.

    Consistent updates
    Wonderful audio ques
    Constant gameplay (no waiting for troops to train/energy)

    Negatives:
    Possible exploit to cause unfair matchmaking (-1 point)
    Pay-to-gain (-1 points)
    Untapped potential

    Clash Royale is a fun game and has the potential to be perfect but the game is run by a bunch of idiots who don`t take community feedback. Many cards in this game are broken and need to be fixed immediately. The matchmaking system is also horrible and you`ll get matched up with people who have higher card levels than you do.

    I thought this game was going to be a failure, which in some cases it is.

    This game is fun for new comers, but it get's boring after a while. You should play this if you are bored and have nothing else to do.

The worst thing about this game is that it is clearly a PAY TO WIN!     The game is really fun, probably the most enjoyable gameplay of all the mobile games.

    But at some point, it's really hard to progress and upgrade cards, although it's not as hard as it was 4-5 years ago.

    Ladder is pure pay to win, but tournaments and the stuff thats locked on tournament level is fun to play.

    It's a shame that the p2w ruins a big part of the experience

    one of the best competitive games for the phone the only problem with it is the pay to win aspect,if your are begining on the game its almost imposible to have an account really big with out paying for cards, so very a good idea for a game with some type of moba environment but just the pay to win its not enjoyable for me.

    As someone who started playing the game in 2016, I can't say it's not good. It has its flaws, and the state of the game after the latest update is really bad, but back in the prime this game was gold.

    Probably one of the most pay-to-win games out there, once you buy coins and open chests, you already have an advantage. Hopefully, Supercell will fix this in the future, however, this game is dead because of Pokémon GO, so no one cares kek.

    Well made game that's WAY too grindy for my tastes. It has a subtle pay to win mechanic That I'm not too fond of. I gave it a full month and deleted the app.

    I'm not going to say "Don't play it" anyone is free to play what they want. But you've been warned of what you're going to find as soon as you start to level up.    … Expand

    The art, strategy, and pacing aspects of the game are great, but its business model sucks. To see any real benefit, players need to spend $20, $50, or $100 and there's no upper limit to the spending.

    It is a shame that an actually fun game is accompanied by such a predatory structure.

    -Matchmaking is outright broken,for all intents and purposes,it is the clash of clans search finder,however in clash you can choose who you can battle,you can't here.Which means you get played against people that have FAR better cards then you do.
    -Game is completely unbalanced with a lot of cards,if you don't have these specific cards you will simply lose when you face against someone who does,such as the skeleton army,which can wipe out 3-4 cards with little effort
    -Game is pay to win,I already mentioned this so I won't go into detail
    -You essentially can only play a worthwhile battle every 3 hours,maybe more,since chests take a long time to open
    -There is no way to discard unwanted chests,lets say you only want to open gold chests,not silver ones.To bad,you can't get rid of the silver chests.
    -Map are small,you get 8 maps,all are the same just re-textured,a river in the middle,with two bridges and the two players on both sides.That's all you get when you battle,make a variety with maps,to allow for different strategies!
    -The card count is limited,it may seem extensive at first,but card game hearthstone has over 400 cards,Royale has 49,49!.

    This game is really a four out of ten,but the fact that you can pay money and immediately become max level,along with they shove buying gems in your face with the chest timers just make me have to take off a point.Free-To-Play model problems    … Expand

    Clash Royale is generally fun in terms of its proud and original real-time multiplayer game play. But the rest of the game is annoyingly imbalanced -- and will probably become way worse as the game gets older, just like Clash of Clans. Must be a Supercell thing.

    it makes me question people when a game like brawl stars with characters with personality and developers who care about their players, and Clash Royale where its monetization & balance is even worse than Brawl Stars, the recent updates to both games is night and day to see which development team care about their players.

    The game contains some good ideas, but the Pay-To-Win is too abusive. But it's only my opinion, and anyone can have his opinion. I've loved this game first, but when you are Area 2/3 you see you must pay to win.

    In the first months an interesting game. The players soon gets to the paywall...hovering about 4000 trophies. The game is in the later stages simple pay to win. Terribly unbalanced and still introducing new cards - which are mostly in the beginning quite OP and need to be later nerfed.

    Hard levels make you buy IAP, and even to get past a certain point, you need to barge your Facebook friends, or buy $5 in in app purchases.

They only focus on getting new players and don’t keep their old ones. Finally god damn overpowered card ruin this game. The elite barbs should be 7 elixir they are just as powerful as the pekka. Freeze spell lasts to long. Valkyrie has to much health I would recommend toning that down a little since the best thing that counters large health troops is goblins/skarmy and of course they can barely touch her. Last thing is the infernos, they charge up faster then inferno dragons and towers do in clash of clans clan capital, they should charge up to the next level after 5 seconds not like the 2 seconds they have now.… Expand

    Supercells greed look like this:

    Design a very strong card ppl must have to have a chance. Act like they are surprised over how good the card is even though the forum is full of threads of it and I only **** the threads that is not only complaining but try to solve it.

    When enough ppl spent their money rinse and repeat. As I said before you could still play without those cards because there was counters and not all played them because you needed skill too but now the card is just so powerful so you dont need any tactics.

    I want to warn ppl that dont spend any money before they fix it.

    Also they are into bad manner players and bullying. you cant turn the emotes off and it is 90 bullys and bad manners that use the system and many players had said this but thay dont care.

    Read som reviews that clearly are written by themselves.

    Ppl claim they are topplayers they played for free.

    I am not at the very top but have 6-7k trophies. PLayed since the start and have in total 7 maxlevel cards where none of course is a legendary and if you check the top no one have anything else then maxlevel cards and its jus impossible like pppl claim and I just don't think they even know where the top is =)    … Expand

Get a princess, ice wizard, sparky, miner, that rotten rolling log, and you're good to go. This is one of the usual mobile game "scams" where they deliberately make you feel a loser if you don't buy ingame items, so you'd spend more on this crap than you would on an AAA+ game.     Royale’s latest update has now had a month to bed-in, and it’s a welcome change. The two-tier battle pass has been slimmed down to one – the free version now considerably more generous – and the shards needed to buy evolutions are easier to come by. A fix for the game’s creaking clan wars system is presumably in the works, but this already feels like a big step in the right direction.

    Clash Royale tweaks the formula of its predecessor and delivers an incredibly addictive and well-balance experience. Yes, there are in-app purchases, but even if you choose not to pay, you can still enjoy the latest game by Supercell.
