A great pick up and play game, and the Quick Start mode means you can have a fast twenty minute game if you want, or get stuck into Campaign or multiplayer instead.
-
It's literally hours of fun, and I am as serious as I can be about that. Worms 3D takes a classic game that I have always enjoyed, added the 3D part yet completely kept the gameplay intact perfectly.
-
TotalGames.netWhether it's better than the old 2D games will come more down to personal preference, but it's a welcome twist on the old formula that opens up far more tactical options than ever before.
-
Team 17 has taken almost all of what made the original games fun and plopped it into 3D. It isnt quite as much fun as the two-dimensional games, but Worms 3D is certainly the best strategy title on the GameCube.
-
Worms 3Ds major problem is that it is in 3D. The uninspired camera and technical oversights, such as the inability to use multiple controllers, prevent the game from receiving an especially high score. However, the game does offer loads of fun if you can get past the flaws.
-
It may be the single cutest way possible to empty an Uzi into your friends' heads.
-
Despite the criticisms, Team 17 has still managed to pull off an impressive evolution of a much-loved series. The core game has remained barely unchanged, but the 3D engine introduces a lot of unexpected elements to get used to, both good and bad.
-
Just as addictive as its predecessors, but features more thoughtful challenges and conquests. [Mar 2004, p.97]
-
It's not so much a major 3D advancement or a 3D reinvention of the series as it is a nice 3D sequel, with some little technical qualms that may occasionally prove to be frustrating.
-
Worms 3D may not succeed completely when it boils down to the measure of its technical parts, but the entire experience proves to be an immeasurably amusing and incredibly entertaining (as well as humorous) way to kill some time.
-
Worms 3D's new engine isn't a necessary improvement on the classic and enduring 2D game, but the upgrade works, even if it makes the controls a little more cumbersome. It still has the tone, humour and playability that is synonymous with Worms.
-
The old-timers out there may find that though the transition to 3D is novel, it doesn't really have much impact on the overall experience.
