This game is great but some things are easy and another are very hard, like the monster coins... i can't collect them all and the anemies are easy to kill.

This game manages to be a lot of fun because of the variety and lots to do. There are lots of different kinds of enemies. You'll have a lot of items to collect too. To top it off, this game even has some great voice acting.

I was a a big fan of the show, so I of course freaked out when I heard a game was available to buy in the stores.I remember being a little kid, the age of 7 playing this game, and what I can say is that this game is fun, not just fun for kids, but for teens too. I know that sounds really silly of me to out down such a statement, but its true. I know that sounds really silly of me to out down such a statement, but its true. You see.........I had a PS2, when I was a kid and that is what I played it on. I enjoyed every waking minute of it. The game is just like the show, and that's exactly what I hoped and dreamed to play. Now recently I went to Tennessee to see my sister, and she took me to these stores. But this one store in particular, called "McKay" or "McKay's" is a store where they sell original and new cd's albums, books - 1st editions I say - audio books, Movies - which was my favorite isle, and old games going from N64 - GENESIS - EVERYTHING ELSE that can be bought at extremely low prices. I mean really low like 1 - 7 dollars for every item. Also this store is highly recommended for people who actually live in Tennessee to visit. I just have to say that you must hold your breath when you enter. So why am I rambling on.....well since Gamestop doesn't sell last generation games anymore, nor do they accept taking them from you anymore.....so I was friggin pissed. Well now that I was at this store I was able to look back at my childhood. And what did I see on the wall. A copy of Scooby-Doo! Night of 100 Frights - mint condition no scratches and for only $3. I was in shock. I bought that game, and now I'm playing it 9 years later. This game is fantastic. It is truly a Scooby Doo game, and it earns the title of being one of my favorite games........ever. I love it so much for awesome voice acting, sound effects, and crisp animation, and that great feeling of nostalgia. Also I have to be somewhere right now....so my review could have been written better. I have done better.

This game is awesome, so I'll give it a 10/10

I bought this game 3 years after it came out and recently went back to it after all this time. We will first start out with the story which i will take directly from Wikipedia: "Daphne's friend Holly calls the gang to the mysterious "Mystic Manor" to solve the mystery of her uncle's disappearance. He was a famous inventor who mysteriously vanished before he could reveal his new top-secret invention. Daphne, Fred and Velma agree to help but Scooby-Doo and Shaggy are reluctant. While the rest go into the mysterious Manor, Shaggy falls down a trap door in the floor, leaving Scooby alone outside. Scooby plays at the playground then runs into the Manor and finds Holly locked in a hallway, who says The Mastermind took the gang and left her there. Scooby returns to the courtyard outside the manor, where a mysterious groundskeeper (Don Knotts) gives him a shovel that enables him to dig up a key to enter the nearby fishing village. Upon exploring the village, Scooby finds one of the professor's many inventions, which are scattered throughout the game. Scooby returns to the manor and travels through the backyard and then fights his way to the roof top, where he encounters The Mastermind for the first time. He reveals that he is the one who resurrected all of Scooby's old foes, and that he also has Velma locked in a cage nearby. The Mastermind then brings the Black Knight Ghost back to fight Scooby and he departs. After Scooby defeats him, he saves Velma. However, after Velma reclaims her glasses, she begins to shriek as she thinks The Creeper is right behind her. A befuddled Scooby stays behind, as there is nobody chasing her. Scooby then ventures to the Graveyard where he finds more inventions and collects more Monster Tokens. He eventually saves Daphne from the Green Ghost, only to have her and Holly fall through a trap door. Scooby then goes on to the shipwrecks. There, Scooby reaches a pirate ship where he is greeted by Fred and the ghost of Redbeard. Scooby defeats Redbeard, then Fred and Scooby begin a conversation, but are interrupted by Velma, still seeing Creepers. Fred notices that the lenses in her glasses have The Creeper imprinted on them. Curious, Fred and Velma head to the Professor's secret lab. Shaggy then arrives and the two begin to eat, but Shaggy flees after he sees a ghost diver.

Scooby heads for the secret lab, and he discovers the gang waiting for him. They tell him the Mastermind has been using holograms the whole time - thus the recreated monsters and the Creepers on Velma's glasses. Fred devises a plan, but needs Scooby to distract the Mastermind so that it will succeed. Scooby reluctantly agrees and confronts the Mastermind, and after the final boss battle is complete, The Mastermind is then sucked up a strange tube that descends from the ceiling. The gang rushes back to the Manor's parlor.

Back in the Manor's parlor, they unmask the Mastermind. Shaggy initially believes that it's the mysterious groundskeeper but he then appears and rants about how 'it's always the spooky groundskeeper'. The gang then discover that the Mastermind is in fact the Professor himself. Velma, confused, says that the clues do not add up. "If you ask me, someone's playing a nasty trick – a trick of the light!" she announces. She holds her glasses up to a mirror to reveal Holly working the controls of a machine behind a wall. Shaggy is puzzled, as Holly is standing right next to him. He reaches for her, but when his arm goes through her, the gang realizes that Holly is a hologram - the real Holly was the Mastermind all along. Holly was in the Mastermind costume the entire time- she used one of the Professor's inventions to get back to the Mansion from the Secret Lab and put the Professor into the costume. Because Daphne kept Holly "up to date on all of their cases," it was fairly simple to recreate all of their old foes. Holly admits that she wanted Mystery Inc. to come, arrest her uncle as the Mastermind, and leave so she could take the credit for his hologram machine and become rich. Scooby and the gang successfully close another case while Shaggy goes to a table full of food only to find out that it is a hologram controlled by Scooby." Now that we have that out of the way what about the gameplay. The game is a basic platformer. You control Scooby-Doo whou can run and jump at the beginning of the game but as you play through you'll find the professor's many inventions which will upgrade scooby-doo's abilities and give him new ones. Scooby controls well enough he isn't too stiff or too slidey. The graphics while not the best the gamecube can doo (see what i did there) are good for a licensed game. Each area looks like something that would be in the original cartoon. The character models are good too. This game in my opinion is the best scooby doo game for eighth gen consoles and one of the best scooby games ever made. I give this game 8/10

First off, if you are looking for a super hard platformer, with brain wracking puzzles, this is NOT the game for you. Scooby Doo! Night of 100 Frights is a fun game with moderate graphics(for the time it was created), varying gameplay, and a fair plot! I enjoy the game for it's challenges and it's silly demeanor! There are some flaws but they are minimal, and often go by unnoticed! IfFirst off, if you are looking for a super hard platformer, with brain wracking puzzles, this is NOT the game for you. I will admit the game can be a bit hard to follow if you don't want to read tons of dialogue. The best feature is that it can be bought for very low prices at sites like Lukie Games. This game holds a place on the top of my shelf, and if you are on the fence about this purchase I would say go for it! Expand

STORY: after the opening, there isn't much story to speak of aside from a few cutscenes with the gang here and there, but, as it is a Scooby-Doo game, expect your usual Mystery Inc. hijinks.

STORY: after the opening, there isn't much story to speak of aside from a few cutscenes with the gang here and there, but, as it is a Scooby-Doo game, expect your usual Mystery Inc. hijinks.

GAMEPLAY: For the first half of the game, I had a lot of fun exploring, fighting a variety of monsters, and discovering new areas and new powerups. But in the second half of the game, my enjoyment quite dramatically lessened. As the well of discoverable areas started drying up, so did the game's hints of what do or where to go next. More than once I had to consult a guide to figure out where I should be, as the in-game map is just not very intuitive or helpful at all. The (oddly) fixed camera angles do not help, often obscuring doors or passages that would've otherwise been obvious, and makes seeing bottomless pits and upcoming enemies much harder than it needs to be. Other than that, it is your standard platforming game with a few puzzles here and there.

GRAPHICS: Heavy Iron continues its tradition of nearly perfectly translating the source material from cartoon to screen. Every texture and animation looks very much like the Scooby-Doo audiences have come to know and love over the years.

SOUND: the music, voice cast, and sound effects all sound like they were ripped straight from the show, and the game gets bonus points for including a laugh track depending on what Scooby is doing. However, Scooby himself loves to point out enemies by name and does so for every single one. Expect to hear "Roh no, it's a headless specter!" or variations of this many more times, long after it's already become massively irritating.

REPLAYABLITY: as a Metroidvania, this game's replay value is fair, pretty much bolstered by the nature of the game's design. There are collectible monster coins and Scooby snacks to find, some obvious, some very well-hidden. This surely squeezes a few more hours out of the game, though whether that's your idea of fun is up to you.

VERDICT: Night of 100 Frights is an okay platformer that is hurt by a few confusing design decisions, but massively helped by Heavy Iron's excellent use of the Scooby-Doo license. Though the later Battle for Bikini Bottom is a much better game, I recommend giving this a try at least once.

Probably or maybe the best scooby doo game yet. It is still flawed but the gameplay is fun and the graphics are good and everything averages to okay to good.

  1. A good action game that actually manages to make excellent use of its license.
  2. In the end the Scooby Doo license is well served.
  3. A rare gem that only uses the license as a tool to build a very good platform game.
