  1. A must-play for anyone who loves the movie. The Resident Evil-style gameplay – where everything is slower and stiffer – is likely to feel weird and clunky at first. But give it time and you'll see that this control style only adds to what is already a creepy experience.

Performances by the movie cast (gotta love Skull's wisdom) and this is pretty much E-rated paradise. [Sept 2006, p.59]

Something of a rarity - a licensed game that's actually fun. It's no "Resident Evil" but it'll keep the young ones entertained for a while, even if it's a rather short while. [Oct 2006, p.92]
  4. Monster House looks good and sounds good, and combined with THQ's attention to the film, the game has atmosphere in spades. That's the real selling point of the title.

The game also has some minor boss fights, as well as a final boss fight which is very easy once you know the pattern.

However, it still has some flaws. By the time you reach the middle of the campaign the game becomes a wave-based run and gun. The developers also added some QTE sequences to artificially elongate the length of the game. I'm sure these were added du to time constraints.

Mind you, this game can be beaten in about 4-5 hours. To compensate for this, the developers added "Thou Art Dead", the arcade game that appears in the movie. I think this is a nice touch.

All in all, if you want to kill an afternoon and happen to find this game for cheap, I say it's worth playing.

Monster House is good but flawed cause it ripoffs other games and uses this in this game. Not to much to say cause I explained it all.
