It's by no means an original experience, but it still manages to entertain from start to finish. Army Men fans are going to love it.
-
Nintendo PowerThe backgrounds are beautifully rendered and the action runs nonstop. [May 2003, p.138]
-
Though it lacks any original mechanics, and has a somewhat shallow premise, Sarges War is very finely polished. So polished, in fact, that you may just slip up (grasp the pun?) as a gamer and ignore the game outright.
-
Game InformerFor all the improvement Sarge's War shows over its predecessors, it's still only average at best. [May 2003, p.86]
-
There are literally dozens of better third-person-perspective, run-and-gun shooters on the market right now.
-
Play MagazineThe game is still traeemark Army Men clunky, but you can look past the sloppier qualities - it still smacks of low-key production value - and enjoy the ceaseless combat for its base appeal. [June 2003, p.56]
