    A good idea ruined by a design team that tried to get too cute. This game would have been a classic if they worked the upgrade system on your craft's gunnery into your planetside firearm, and gave you, the character stats and upgradeables as well.

    An intriguing idea on paper, but the shooter and RPG elements just don't mesh that well. If the shooter side had more exciting, thumb-blistering action, it would have compensated for the rest of this dull package.

Unfortunately for Sigma Star Saga, neither the dungeon crawling nor the battle sequences are even remotely compelling - which is unfortunate, the storyline seems like it's very enjoyable. The repetition is what really kills this game for me; level design in the battle sequences is practically non-existant, and the dungeon crawling is just plain unremarkable and sluggish to play.
