Throwing a Spanner in the works. Mega Man and Bass is half fun, and Half Irritating, the fun half is taking out the 8 robot masters, the irritating half is taking out the final castle, which is so cheap, that I very nearly rage-quit. The first level King 1 is ok, nothing too bad, I can beat it, King 2 is a nightmare with 4 boss fights, the first is extremely boring, the second, if you beatThrowing a Spanner in the works. Mega Man and Bass is half fun, and Half Irritating, the fun half is taking out the 8 robot masters, the irritating half is taking out the final castle, which is so cheap, that I very nearly rage-quit. The first level King 1 is ok, nothing too bad, I can beat it, King 2 is a nightmare with 4 boss fights, the first is extremely boring, the second, if you beat it you were lucky, the third is easy, and the fourth is just slightly easier than the second, and the third level is long but still fun. But apart from that the eight robot master levels are really fun, but make sure you prepare for the increased difficulty. Comparing the GBA port to the original Japanese SNES release, do anything you can to play the SNES release, you can't see anything in the GBA port due to the screen being super zoomed in, making for a less fun experience. Use an emulator if you have to, just play the SNES release. Expand

Subpar port for an amazing game. Lacks the speed and the image quality of the SNES version. Considering the power of the SNES and the GBA hardware, everyone would expect the GBA version would be better.

The SNES version is great for its level design, music and tight control. However, the GBA port suffered from restricted screen that significantly hindered stage hazard.

  1. Mega Man & Bass takes us back to the old gaming formula, away from the RPG elements that now dominate the series. It's a welcome blast from the past, the lost gem of the Mega Man GBA series.
  2. Hardcore Mega Man fans (or anyone else looking for a great, challenging action game) should seize this opportunity to take the blue bomber back to his old-school roots.

This game still has that "I know I can do it this time..." element that keeps players coming back, and when a game keeps you riveted to the system until you've completed the challenge, you know it's good.
