  1. For a licensed game, I think they've done a very good job of creating a unique game experience that stays in step with the source material while creating a new enough experience to make the game fun. Plus the Allspark Wars function is awesome!
  2. In the end, loyalty to the movie plot is what weighs Transformers: Autobots down. Still, Autobots is the version to buy for REAL Transformers fans.
  3. This game has so many features. It gives you over 30 vehicles to unlock, sub-missions, the Allspark Wars on Wi-Fi, and a solid multiplayer mode. However, the game is extremely short, seemingly rushed, not that nice to look at, and finding a glitch or five is not hard in the least.

When it comes to fighting as the robot or the vehicle, Transformers DS falls flat. The action and its technique really needs a bit of a tune-up, especially in the "defense" department, and the glitches that pop up from time to time are really hard to ignore.
  5. Smashing other robots and transforming into different vehicles is generally fun, but the game is short and the missions are often uninspiring.

This is a game specifically for fans, and even then I'd mention specifically fans of the new Transformers... or Peter Cullen.
  7. The best video game adaptation to date of the live action Transformers movie. The bad news is that it’s still not saying much.

(yeah, for those who play war for cybertron, no choppers, right?) and c) a changible vehicale form! this deserves a 10 out of 10 just because it's the best transformers game around. should i go on with multiplayer? (Only game in which you can have most joining players and charecter (including color change!)) Expand

While this game follows the movie’s plot, it has been altered to accommodate the inclusion of the protagonist who was not present in the actual movie. It is pretty compelling and the protagonist has an actual arc. He was a show off and wanted to prove his worth to the other Autobots. By the end of the game, he learns to not behave in such a way. This was due to him causing Bumblebee to be captured by Sector 7. The gameplay is identical to the Decepticons version. Same vehicles, same combat and almost the same locations except the Arctic which is exclusive to the Autobots version. The game has phenomenal voice acting unlike any other DS game. Despite the nostalgia I have for this game, I’ve come to realize that this game is slightly lesser to the Decepticons since this game follows the movie more closely rather than the Decepticons which has its own unique story. Even with that in mind, it’s still a great game any Transformers fan should check out even 15 years later. A solid 9/10 Expand

Now, I did play it a lot when I was a kid, but even without the nostalgia goggles, it is a very fun game. The missions are fun and have great replayability, the combat system is fairly good, and I probably spent quite a bit of time customizing my character. Not to mention it had a freeplay mode that I probably spent hours on. The only real downside in my opinion is the graphics, which aren't the most detailed in the world. Overall, I would definitely recommend this game. Expand

If you at least liked the first Transformers film from Micheal Bay, I think you'll find some serious fun out of this one. While this game follows the movie’s plot, it actually alters to accommodate the inclusion of your own Autobot character, who is not within the movie.

You can choose from many different vehicle forms upon scanning them AND change up their color palette, and free to roam open worlds for you to do as you see fit including fight random Decepticons.
There were a few challlenges and hard missions within the game, but it was overall very fun and I would recommend this game, Decepticon version included. (Matter of fact, out of this game, Revenge of the Fallen, and Dark of the Moon, I'd put this game at the top of the list.)
The only real downsides I see are the graphics aren't great, and post-game there isn't all that much to do.
