    SNK vs. Capcom Card Fighters DS is an often entertaining game, which makes its shoddy production and localization especially disappointing.

    I tried so hard to like Card Fighters DS, but I feel it's a good card game stuck inside of a bad video game. The source material was there, and it had potential to be lots of fun, but the method of earning cards is repetitive, you are stuck in a static location throughout the game, and it is basically impossible to complete the game until SNK redistributes new cartridges.

    The worst flaw, however, is the game-crashing bug that occurs when you talk to a certain character later in the game. How SNK Playmore let this game ship with such a glaring flaw is beyond me.

    It is broken in the literal sense of not working as sold and, as such, must be scored appropriately. That the game underneath the bodged localisation is also, figuratively, a broken shell of what it once was and absolutely nowhere near as good as it should have been, is more than anything, deeply, deeply sad.

    A good idea not perfected.
    One of the biggest games is problems is balance which this game lacks.

    The game requires lots of grinding. I liked the game for the story which seems like a redeeming factor but honestly there's better card games out there.
    It does offer a good soundtrack and story but the game itself is either too easy or unbalanced.
    Not to mention sometimes when climbing the tower you will run into a "how do I progress" type of moment.
    The card artwork for many cards comes in really nicely too.
    If only an actual fighting game from Capcom and SNK actually came out but for right now, this is like a look into what cross-over games we can get.

    BUT it's really not as bad as these other reviews say. I was actually surprised by the low scores! I personally enjoy it, but I realize it's not the best. At all. I know this will sound blasphemous, but at times it reminds me of Pokemon: The Trading Card Game. (Forces system parallel to element system in PTCG)
    All in all. Its decent. I have fun with it, but often feel at a loss in progression and put it down for later.

Not even for free I will get this game. I prefer to play street fighter 1 (arcade version) and King of fighters 94 (neo geo) instead of this foolish peoples' game. If you think is cool, awesome, exciting, etc. Then you are not smart enough to buy what is worth it. I prefer to play my old neopocket game SNK Vs Capcom - Match of The Millennium. SNK VS CAPCOM MATCH OF THE MILLENNIUM IS A VERY OLD FIGTHING GAME AND IS MORE FUN THAN THE DUMB CARD GAME THEY CREATED.
    NEXT CAPCOM VS SNK BETTER BE A FIGHTING GAME WITH ALL THE CHARACTERS FOR THE NINTENDO DS AS AN APOLOGIES INSULTING THE INTELLIGENCE OF US THE CUSTOMERS. IF YOU BOUGHT THIS GAME YOU ARE ALREADY THE LAUGHING STOCK OF THE WHOLE CAPCOM AND SNK COMPANY.    … Full Review »
