  1. A great game that you can’t go wrong with. But unless you’re prepared to play the multi-player modes for months on end with your buddies, (remember there is no online play), then you’d be advised to rent this.
  2. It's not without a few problems here and there, but if you liked the console MechAssault games, or are just looking for a solid mech action title on the DS, MechAssault: Phantom War won't disappoint you.

While technical limitations hold the game back from greatness, when you look past the downgraded visuals there's a lot to like. [Oct. 2006, p.114]

Nonetheless, the action is well-balanced and production values(especially an unprecedented amount of voiceover)are top-notch. [Nov. 2006, p.85]

It's never spectacular but always solid in every department and certainly worth a look for fans of the genre. Full Review »

In many ways, this game reminds me of the bane of my gaming existence, Goldeneye: Rogue Agent for DS.

    It's:
    - Based off a popular shooter
    - Control is mainly stylus-based
    - A massive disappointment

The DS stylus is a good piece of hardware. But it's not for action games like this.

If you're looking for an awesome sequel to the MechAssault series, this isn't it.
