The real appeal of a surfing game is the feel of the board responding to the waves, however, and Championship Surfing captures that beautifully.
  2. The feeling of surfing has never been realized so well, and the game itself is just a joy to play. If you're interested in a change of pace, consider picking this one up.
  3. While far from perfect, it is easily the best surfing game on the market, but more importantly, it's also a fun game.
  4. Buy it if you like your surfing with a healthy dollop of frustration.
  5. It also comes with a degree of difficulty that flirts with "Thrasher"-like degrees of insanity, but is offset by lots of gameplay modes, some dopey humor and decent (but not outstanding) graphics.
  6. There's nothing brutally wrong with Championship Surfer, but there isn't really enough to keep the non-surfer interested. It's just wave after wave after wave.

To use a popular term reserved for the most successful of vacuum cleaners... it sucked.
