Pokemon Battle Trozei

A decent Pokémon spin-off for all ages, sold at the right price but shamefully missing an online component.

It's fun for spend some time in lines without caring about some story, but it does not go much further than that.

The game offers a lot of puzzle pleasure and gives you a real challenge collecting all the Pokémon. Despite of a few minor disappointments, like the lack of character voices, the game is absolutely worth the price.

The standard match-three gameplay is layered with strategy that uses to the main series’ established rock-paper-scissor combat system, but the UI’s lack of information leaves those without an encyclopedic knowledge of Pokemon games at a disadvantage.

Pokémon Battle Trozei is a fun take on the Match-3 genre that rewards quick reflexes, strategic thinking, and Pokémon knowledge.

A fast-paced and fun puzzle game with over 700 Pokémon to collect and stages to master. Too bad for the lack of online multiplayer and some minor issues.

A strong match-three game for your 3DS, Pokemon Link: Battle! may look pretty standard, but its faster pace and Pokemon-themed gameplay set it aside from the crowd.

It’s a one-note game at times, but it sure beats another Pokémon game bringing back the style of Yoshi’s Cookie.

Pokémon Link: Battle! is a fun addition to the enormous Pokémon series, this time to its puzzle front. While it can get repetitive quickly, this game is mostly oriented towards short gaming bouts, as well as to local multiplayer sessions. The lack of an online component is a mystery, though. Fans of the Pokémon series and of puzzle games alike will find good reasons to put their hands on this.

Pokemon Battle Trozei is fun while it lasts, but the lack of depth will ensure that it won't last long.

I’m a firm believer that a puzzle game needs to stand apart from whatever license or theme it has slapped on it. The game is the mechanic, after all. This is a case where characters are really the only really appealing thing there is. Games like Puzzle & Dragons have successfully juggled a similar mechanic and character-collection elements, proving that it can be done – and done well. Pokémon Battle Trozei is too superficial to remain interesting in the long term.

Cute and cool puzzle game, too bad it doesn't have an online mode.

What makes Pokémon Link: Battle an interesting game is precisely the nature of its concept. Within the "spin offs" this one is the most appealing, even though this is a sequel and not an original production.

This game is aimed at young Pokémon fans. If you're older, there are better puzzles on 3DS.
