Those who already own the release on consoles have no reason to double dip unless they want to play it on the go, but for those who prefer the portable experience, Mega Man Legacy Collection is a winner on 3DS.

Mega Man Legacy Collection is a great package with a lot of content and stuff to do - for newcomers it's worth acknowledging that each game is very challenging, and could be too much for someone who isn't used to the steep learning curve.

If you have ever been interested in playing the games that got Mega Man his start, this is a solid addition to any library.

Mega Man has never been known as a walk in the park when it came to difficulty and this port tries its best to stay true to the original feel. Fans new and old should most certainly check out this collection. I highly recommend it.

Mega Man Legacy Collection for the Nintendo 3DS is the perfect way of enjoying six of the greatest games of all times. The extra content that is included in this compilation makes is it a must have for everyone.

Sure, Mega Man Legacy Collection could've added more games, or had an option to expand the screen to full size (and what's with the full price tag?). That said, it's still a rich package filled with gaming history, between the six original games, the museum, the music player and the NES Remix mode. If you're even slightly devoted to the Blue Bomber, you owe it to yourself to pick this up.

It’s difficult and unforgiving, but reaping the rewards at the end of each level is satisfying, making this one retro collection you’ll want to get stuck in to.

As a compilation, Legacy Collection thankfully makes an effort to be more than a sloppy pile of regurgitated code from decades ago.

Although there isn’t much more to the 3DS version than there was to the original releases six months ago, Mega Man Legacy Collection nevertheless remains the definitive compilation of the NES originals, bolstered by wonderfully accurate emulation and a nifty host of nostalgic extras—not to mention a great value.

To date, the Megaman Legacy Collection is the definitive way of playing the first six Megaman games. Loving attention to detail, collection of additional resources, and a challenge mode that should keep longtime players and new fans engaged for a long time.

It's a piece of history, but nothing surprising or a complete collection. Still, very enjoyable if you want to relieve these classics.

Mega Man Legacy Collection on the 3DS is a great collection of games and extras, but players who already have the Virtual Console games might be hard pressed to spend $30 on 54 challenges that have little replayability without any online functionality and leaderboards. It also doesn’t help that they left out the widescreen option from the console/PC versions. If you can get past that, you’ll find a lot of classic NES enjoyment within this collection.

Mega Man Legacy Collection is an invitation to explore the first six Mega Man games and it succeeds at striking a chord both with longtime Mega Man fans and with those less familiar with the series. As good as this compilation is, it could only be improved by fixing frame rate drops in certain busy areas and with more content, especially more games of the Mega Man series which could have easily been included in this title.

Mega Man Legacy Collection brings the first six titles to new audiences; even so, we expected much more from this compilation with a few interesting extras like challenge mode.

Mega Man Legacy Collection for Nintendo 3DS is still a faithful port of six classic Blue Bomber adventures, but the lack of system-specific features and limited options in comparison to its home console brethren make it hard to recommend over previous releases.

Mega Man Legacy Collection is, at its core, a competent collection of six classic titles that every platforming fan - or, indeed, every gamer - should play at some point. However, it doesn't go much further than that.

Given the Mega Man's recent treatment, I can't help but be a little disappointed to see another incomplete collection, this time omitting almost half the series. Three of the final four entries are more than worthy of being included in any kind of Mega Man archive, and we might as well throw the putrid Mega Man 8 in there. I realize that the NES era was the focus of this particular collection, but leaving out some of the series's best entries is a glaring mistake. I will always love the games gathered here, but I can't help but feel a little shortchanged.

With unforgiving difficulty, it's ultimately an experience that only hardcore fans will enjoy.
