Nov 13, 2017We finally received a compilation of the best minigames in Mario Party history. While the game itself suffers the lack of other content, each minigame is as great as you remember and the Download Play function makes it a great option for multiplayer experiences.
-
Dec 21, 2017This top 100 of all Mario Party games is surprisingly fun. It offers a singleplayer mode and a lot of diversity in the minigames. Even Amiibo are supported. Sadly the game has no online option though. Definitely a fun bunch of games to enjoy for hours.
-
Nov 20, 2017Although Mario Party: The Top 100 contains an impressive amount of mini-games that are still super-fun to play, the modes to enjoy the mini-games within are unfortunately lacking. That being said, if you're looking for a comprehensive Mario Party experience that you can enjoy with a few friends on the go then this is one collection that you should definitely not overlook.
-
Jan 2, 2018Mario Party: The Top 100 is a nice mini-game collection, which quickly runs out of steam despite the large selection.
-
Dec 29, 2017Mario Party: The Top 100 is an awesome opportunity for new players to know the past of this series, even when the lack of the board game shows strong differences in playability.
-
CD-ActionApr 3, 2018A lot of included mini-games are genuinely fun, but those based on blind luck are completely useless. [03/2018, p.73]
-
Dec 22, 2017Mario Party: The Top 100 is an interesting game, especially to play with your friends.
-
Dec 21, 2017The most savvy players will surely appreciate a playful offer like the one offered by The Top 100, never really difficult and graphically satisfying. Older players, on the other hand, would do better to look for something else to fill their evenings with friends.
-
Nov 19, 2017While it can make for an enjoyable title for younger players who can easily grab some friends and compete in short spans of time, Mario Party: The Top 100 doesn’t have quite enough to keep players coming back to it in the way any other main line entry has been able to over all these years.
-
Dec 21, 2017Mario Party: The Top 100 is a pretty nice compilation of mini games but those are not enough to keep players entertained for a long time. Unfortunately the lack of multiplayer online modes trash away all the good things: no friends, no party.
-
Dec 21, 2017Mario Party: The Top 100 is a game that, even though it has 100 of the best minigames of the saga, it feels very short. Very uninspired game mode and very little content make this game incapable of standing on the same level as Nintendo has been this year.
-
Dec 21, 2017Mario Party: The Top 100 wants to prove that minigames can stand by themselves, but fails in doing so; its minigames, lacking the classic party mode, become boring after a while, and the game is only truly recommandable to those who have three friends ready to join them in this far from perfect blast from the past.
-
Dec 21, 2017Mario Party: The Top 100 values quantity over quality, with a huge array of different events tied by a very basic connection. The overall result is basically an opportunity to regret how good and passionate the old chapters were.
-
Dec 21, 2017This game is a fun collection of the most popular minigames in Mario Party history, but the content of the game is too little to really make it an interesting replay.
-
Nov 29, 2017Mario Party Top 100 is a great look back on the history of mini games from the franchise, and I can’t fault it for that. It really brought back a lot of great memories and I appreciate that. Those that never played the games prior can have an interesting look at some of the more fun and insane mini games Nintendo has concocted over the years, but it’s a really obscure view of what made the Mario Party games fun overall. Even though the mini games were a blast, the other half is missing, and it’s just not a party without them.
-
Dec 21, 2017100 varied mini-games, visual improvements and the inclusion of a single player campaign. Unfortunately, the absence of the classic boards of the saga and the almost non-existent replayability in the single-player mode undermine the overall experience.
-
Nov 16, 2017Mario Party: The Top 100 is an attempt to recapture the favorite mini-games of our youth and offer it in portable form. While the games themselves play well and the ones they selected are all top notch, without having any solid structure or unlockables, the game quickly loses interest and goes from being the latest party game to being the best time killer you could possibly get on the 3DS.
-
Jan 19, 2018A game that could have been lots of things. It could have been a tribute to a great franchise that is about to celebrate its 10th anniversary. It could have been a place of reference for active multiplayer gaming that offers pure fun. Instead, it is a collection of mini-games that can be compared to a trip down the memory lane – an opportunity to relive good gaming moments, which is marked by lack of elements that can give this title its proper place into the Mario Party fandom.

Nintendo Force MagazineJan 7, 2018Mario Party: The Top 100 has its joyous moments, but it can't top 2016's Star Rush. [Issue #31 – January/February 2018, p. 34E]
-
Dec 21, 2017The Top 100 is a good tribute to the series, but a disappointing Mario Party. It lacks modes and the depth of a proper entry, although it's quite enjoyable and does deliver a bunch of hours of fun.
-
Dec 21, 2017Mario Party: The Top 100 is a blessing and a disappointment at the same time. If the game should be praised for bringing some of the best minigames of the Mario Party series to the 3DS and features a long lifespan with very good control systems, it also focuses a lot less on the multiplayer component and feels like it lost some of its "party game" qualities.
-
Dec 21, 2017Mario Party: The Top 100 is a collection of the best mini-games featured on the previous chapters of the series. It should be a sort of definitive Mario Party game, but at the end of the day Is just a more of the same, and it lacks of any kind of depth. At least, it is possible to enjoy most of the game modes in multiplayer up to 4 players with only one copy of the game, adding great value to a game that maybe shouldn’t be sold at full price.
-
Dec 21, 2017Mario Party: The Top 100 is a game made with great diligence. Its party game nature, however, fails to take off and express itself fully, especially if you've played a lot of the mini-games re-proposed. Although it's a sort of mecum vate of the Nintendo saga, the game is very derived and essential, slipping too soon into oblivion.
-
Dec 21, 2017On top of quantity, Mario Party: The Top 100 gathers quality minigames that were wisely chosen, nicely updated and carefully ported to the portable console, although this nostalgic selection also results from the eventual compatibility with the original controls, consequently creating a few issues. Worse, the main modes are too simplistic and almost void of content. Whether those underline a lack of inspiration or development time, such shortcomings prevent this compilation from expressing its potential further than brief multiplayer sessions.
-
Nov 20, 2017There is a lot to love in the way Nd Cube brought back 100 beloved minigames from the Mario Party series, but this package falls short in the content used to deliver those bite-sized delights. Mario Party: The Top 100 may hold the record for the most minigames, but it certainly has the least amount of content and the lowest replayability. The game set out to compile a collection of the best minigames in the series; that goal was accomplished with great results. That makes the initial time spent with Mario Party: The Top 100 an awesome walk through nostalgia lane - unfortunately the rest is a rushed project; with that in mind it fails to live up to its full potential.
-
Nov 14, 2017Mario Party: The Top 100 is a pretty bare-bones experience, one that has little to offer for those who aren't interested in local multiplayer.
-
Nov 14, 2017Mario Party the Top 100 is a missed opportunity. The idea of bringing together the best of the series in a game was good but it has been poorly executed with lack of motivation to return to play. The almost complete absence of the classic board game fun is an incomprehensible decision.
-
Dec 27, 2017Mario Party has offered us many treats over the years and it is fun to choose when you are playing them. However, there is not much room for motivation to play through, and it is not too easy to play this game with others, making it less of a party than it would be on a tv console.
-
Jan 1, 2018I do hope they bring Mario Party to Switch soon, but until then, this honestly isn’t a very good replacement. Not worth it unless it’s a gift for a younger gamer, or you happen to get together with friends and 3DS consoles often.
-
Dec 22, 2017Mario Party: The Top 100 is sadly mediocre. What should be a wonderful commemoration of the friendship-breaking party experience turns into a bland rehash of different minigames from the series. While this is still fun with friends, it’s probably better to just grab an older Mario Party and dig in there.
-
Dec 21, 2017Even Mario Party die-hards will struggle to find much to enjoy in this rudimentary compilation. There are occasional glimmers of nostalgic genius, but they are few and far between when compared to the plainness of the side modes, brevity of the single-player campaign, and length of the list of dud mini-games on offer. It's a fun distraction for a couple of hours, but Mario Party: The Top 100 lacks the replayability of a mainline Mario Party title, making it a hard sell in the face of its more complete-feeling siblings.
-
Nov 29, 2017It takes more than fun mini games to make a good Mario Party game. It’s also about carefully crafting a meaningful game experience that allows you to screw over your friends in the most skilled, fair way possible (with a dash of luck, obvs). Hopefully Nintendo can keep the series alive and perfect the spirit of Mario Party for the Switch, but for now I think Mario Party games are officially dead for the 3DS.
-
Nov 23, 2017It is a shame to see the series fizzle out like this on 3DS. At this point, I just want Nintendo to bring the game over to the Switch with Mario Party 11, as that may be the breath of fresh air this series desperately needs to stay relevant. If that doesn’t work out, then it may be time for Nintendo and Nd Cube to finally put this once great series to rest.
-
Nov 16, 2017Mario Party: The Top 100 was such a strong idea, but it unfortunately falls flat as an actual full-priced Mario Party title.
-
Nov 13, 2017Unfortunately, like many of Nintendo’s attempts to capitalize on nostalgia, Mario Party: The Top 100 feels like a party Nintendo threw for themselves and blew the entire budget on banners, cake, and confetti. They forgot to spend on the one thing that makes a party worthwhile: the entertainment.
-
Nov 13, 2017Unfortunately, I just don’t see how Mario Party is supposed to be enjoyable playing solo on a handheld when there isn’t even a fully fleshed out board games to play on. It’s just a series of 1min mini-games that award you 1-3 stars feeling very much like this should have been a mobile game. The mini-games are fun, but the model in which they’re presented to players feels very out of place on the 3DS. This might be a good pick-up for families with a few kids at home but I can’t recommend it to fans of the series or an older audience that have so many better titles to choose from on this platform.
-
Nov 13, 2017For a full-priced game, The Top 100 feels rather shallow with its content. I was able to finish the entire game, playing every single mini-game, finishing single player mode, and checking out the other modes, in around three hours. And while the joy of Mario Party is typically in playing the boards and games over and over, there’s really no incentive to do that here since the only available board is pathetically underwhelming, and playing the games in rapid succession is tiresome. The Top 100 isn’t a terrible game, but it’s an experience that rings hollow when it could have been so much more.
-
Dec 21, 2017The Top 100 does a good job of collecting and remastering a large number of minigames from across the entire series, but neglects to tie them together in any meaningful way. By focusing almost wholly on the minigames, the game tends to become a relentless slog of loading in and out of overly simplistic challenges over and over again.
-
Dec 21, 2017As is often the case with looking back on the past, Mario Party The Top 100 makes you remember that things were never really as good as you remember.
-
Dec 12, 2017Ultimately, Mario Party: The Top 100 is not an awful game. The multiplayer is fun if you can find people to play with, but even then it overstays its welcome rather quickly. The modes are shallow, the only Mario Party style board is tiny and non-interactive, and the minigame selection leaves something to be desired.
