Little Battlers eXperience is a hell of a ride with its colourful visuals, animated cutscenes and over the top plot twists. It becomes a bit grindy and controls feel clunky at times but the awesome customization and variety totally make up for its shortcomings.

LBX: Little Battlers experience is an enjoyable and fully customisable fighting game on the Nintendo 3DS.

Almost as fun as Inazuma Eleven. Kids will enjoy it more, but any RPG lover will find many good things in it.

Strong RPG delivers on a great premise. Extensive customisation, let down by clunky menus.

It comes really late in Europe, but it's worth all of your consideration if you like the genre. The narration is sound, and the gameplay delivers loads of fun.

Looking for a hardcore experience isn’t going to be found here, but for anybody interested in an action-based RPG (that isn’t really an action-RPG), then LBX might be the thing. While the story might be a wash, the action and depth is done well enough to keep the experience engaging.

Little Battlers Experience is a good game. Although touching peaks of excellence regarding the collectible, the difficulty level is a bit too low. Fortunately, the overall charm of the experience encourages players to not prematurely abandon the adventure.

Little Battlers Experience is the first chapter of a series that we cannot wait to see available the Western market. It doesn't create anything new nor redefines the standard of the RPG genre, but it's a title that definitely deserves your attention.

It's a good RPG with exploration, characters and everything you wait for a company as Level 5.

Little Battlers eXperience is a too-simple JRPG, but it will delight anime fans. It shows its true potential in combat against other players.

LBX: Little Battlers Experience has an excellent core, I just wish that Level-5 swapped out a few of the materials to make the game truly worth owning.

Praise for Level-5, as it was about time to bring Little Battlers eXperience to the European market. Its fluid and fun combat, along with the degree of robot customization will bring many hours of fun, which could only benefit from an online multiplayer mode and from a more elaborate plot.

Taking an eclectic blend of different gaming elements, LBX: Little Battlers eXperience does a good job at introducing US gamers to this new world, while also being a great handheld option for kids.

If you have any interest in battling, robots, or battling robots, LBX is worth a look, but it's not really hooking me in the way Pokémon does and Yo-Kai Watch later this year has the potential to.

With solid presentation, combat, and customization, LBX: Little Battler’s eXperience is a satisfying game that is more involved than it seems. It’s not without its faults, including unwieldy, sometimes tedious design, but to write it off as just another kid’s RPG would do it a massive disservice. Level-5 has created an action-RPG that--even with its faults--is still an entertaining offering.

Little Battlers Experience has a predictable story, but thanks to awesome anime cutscenes it does come to life. It is a lot of fun to customize the minirobots outside and inside. Too bad this game can only be played locally, cause it would have been a great online multiplayer experience.

LBX is a good RPG, with tons of contents and very enjoyable. We've found its combat system quite limited but, apart from this, it does deserve a try.

A decent game for those with an action RPG itch, but how much you like to repeat tasks will determine how much enjoyment you derive from it.

It's a big, bad game for a supposedly Little Battlers eXperience, alas limited to a local multiplayer environment.

The storyline is immersive and genuinely well-delivered and will give gamers of all ages plenty to enjoy. The omission of online multiplayer is a huge downer though, and it stops this game from being something truly exceptional. There's a lot to love, but it'll be a largely solo eXperience.

There's a lot of game packed into this little package, but it takes a long time to get going. [Issue #17 – September/October 2015, p.69]

Despite the occasional clunkiness in battles, there is a well-developed battle system lurking beneath the surface that really just needed a bit more polish. Unfortunately, there's a lot of crippling little details between the battles, systems, and presentation that add up to a very lukewarm start for the series outside of Japan.

Only downside is on the new 3ds it doesn't use the nub for the camera which can get stuck once in a blue moon. Full Review »

LBX Scratches the itch that most mecha fans have had since there aren't any traditional Gundam games available on the 3DS stateside. The gameLBX Scratches the itch that most mecha fans have had since there aren't any traditional Gundam games available on the 3DS stateside. The game gives you a very satisfying variety of customization options in addition to lots of aesthetically pleasing robots to customize and battle. Combat is fun and pretty intuitive and while the IP it's based on is pretty generic it doesn't really detract from this spiritual successor to Medabots, Zoids, Custom Robo, And the arcade style Gundam games.

    Worth the price.
