We work in Kham, the easternmost of the three traditional Tibetan provinces. Its rugged landscape spans the Chinese provinces of Sichuan, Yunnan, Qinghai, and the Tibetan Autonomous Region. Most of the Tibetans who live here are farmers and nomads, and are tied to a predominantly subsistence economy.
