This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Rio is a charming and fun romp through a samba themed movie. This setting allows for great color usage by the animators and this makes for a very vibrant and "warm," if you will, movie going experience. The movie also had it's funny moments and I couldn't help but love the characters. Go ahead and check it out. 2… Expand

The best movie I've seen. I loved it back in 2011 when it just came out, I went to cinema to watch it. It was my first cinema experience, and it was amazing. Recently I've rewatched it and, damm, it's still amazing!

Awesome animated movie ! Everything was fun : the songs, the characters, the animation, the landscape, everything ! I liked Jemaine Clement as the villain (the voice of Nigel), he was funny. It was great to watch an animated movie in Brazil (finally, an other country than U.S.A), it made itAwesome animated movie ! Rio pushes its limits to the max, and tries hard to please the audience, which it mostly succeeds at. It has a great cast, including George Lopez, Jesse Eisenburg, and Anne Hathaway. The movie is the definition of fun.

It's got great visuals (but that's not unusual, since it was made by Blue Sky Studios), catchy music and a voice cast with celebs we all know, and so, chances are, you'll like this movie.

Pleasant. The animation specially during the Carnivale sequences is excellent. The story is full of holes and doesn't sustain the film. Actually enjoyed Jesse Eisenberg's performance. The music was really the best part of the whole film.

Insipid. Painfully so. Cliche ridden. Inane. Ugh. Terrible. Even my eight year old found it lame. Hollywood always dupes me. I've given up on them.
