    Surprisingly good, and also surprisingly, it's not really dark or excessively creepy despite the subject matter. The main character stalker guy is actually decent in some ways.

    Edit: finished it and came back to bump up the score, as I really enjoyed this overall.

    Enjoyed it. Sorta mixture of Bates Motel and Dexter. Penn Badgley did an amazing job in bringing the character to life.

    great pilot, the series has a very interesting point that is the vision of Joe which leaves the series much more intense´, Penn Badgley plays a majestic role in this show, the photograph is a bit melancholy as the life of the Badgley character which leaves more sadisfatoria accompany you.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I didn't know what this was, so after a bit of a boring start the atmosphere started to pull me in. At first the main character seems so normal. And even after all the stalking I still found him relatable. They could have waited a bit longer with the violence, but I understand they need the audience to tune in next week. I will watch again even though I'm worried it will try to be the new Dexter.… Expand

    "You" is a psychological study of a psychopath. The story demonstrates how an individual might plausibly convince himself that murdering annoying and selfish people is morally justifiable – or, perhaps justified within the context of loving and protecting someone.

    The plots are intriguing and hold your attention. From an abnormal psychological disorder analysis, this particular    "You" is a psychological study of a psychopath. The story demonstrates how an individual might plausibly convince himself that murdering annoying and selfish people is morally justifiable – or, perhaps justified within the context of loving and protecting someone.

    The plots are intriguing and hold your attention. From an abnormal psychological disorder analysis, this particular mentally ill individual might not quite fit into what might be taught in a college introductory course in psychology. It is that inconsistency of abnormal psychological behaviors mixed with normal behaviors that make the story interesting.

    The psychopath’s dichotomy of behaviors plays out over the first season and culminates as the first season concludes.

    This is not a happy, feel-good story. It can be gut wrenching and difficult to watch.

    As a strange plot device, the psychopath has an inexplicable habit of keeping items that prove he has committed murder - which occasionally are discovered by others.

    You mixes together solid acting with a completely unrealistic story that for some reason is enthralling to a point where I felt a little bit dirty for enjoying it so much.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Initially I was quite apprehensive about You. I wasn't sure what its message would be as there are quite a few pieces of media that straight up glorify pretty toxic traits. The first few eps seemed to confirm this suspicion. However, around Peach's death, I realised the concept of this show and it elevated it to a new level. It's pretty clear that Joe is a psychopath but, in real life, it's often easy to think: how did people not notice such shocking behaviour. I particularly feel this when reading about serial killers like Ted Bundy. You demonstrates exactly how a) from the killer's perspective they genuinely believe they are normal and in the right and b) how difficult it is to genuinely spot patterns of abuse.

    From that point on I fully loved the show. Penn Badgley does a fantastic job showing the creepiness and scariness of Joe and the writing felt tighter. It does stretch believability at times about how people basically don't see Joe standing in plain sight lol but it's a contrivance I'm willing to forgive for such a strong plot.

    It's a neat gambit to use an unreliable narrator and tell the story from the antagonist's point of view and one that I look forward to them exploring further.    … Expand

    just finished. My thoughts? The trailer's a lil bit misleading,just sayin'. Horrorfic? Nah,no spooky entity lurking around under lights..so no worries. For the faint-hearted? Not so recommended. Kudos for the element of surprise towards the end though. And yes, season 2 is in the works.

    Once you get deep into the premiere, which with its incessant voiceovers plays more like a talking Viewmaster reel than an hour of television, you may find yourself hooked--and recognize some wry observations about human behavior at the root of this thriller.
