    Rol yapma oyunlarını çok seven bir oyuncuysanız ve bundan da fazla olarak felsefeye düşkünseniz; kesinlikle izlemeniz gereken bir dizi. İlk sezonu az önce bitirdim ve harika hissettim. Her şey öyle güzel ve kusursuz ki, ikinci sezona başlıyorum. Senarist yönetmen vs değişmediyse aynı mutluluğu yaşayacağımı düşünmekten çok heyecanlanıyorum.

    Amazing world-building and interesting characters are at the center of Westworld. The show has a lot of very intriguing ideas and themes and the storyline is extremely well crafted.

    Westworld is one of my favorite TV shows because it's unique and the artificial intelligence subject is very fascinating. This is a smart and interesting show that requires you to pay attention. It's complex and intricate. Fantastic writing with plenty of twists. There is foreshadowing, there is symbolism, it's a highly visual show. I was never bored watching it.

    Secondarily this theme: the robots were first created NOT for playthings for the rich. They were first created to embody authentic wakeful humanity. Experiences of personal suffering are the "cornerstone" of each constructed identity. Later Westworld corrupted into a "playground for the rich." The emerging humanity of the robots is contrasted (clumsily, probably an afterthought) with the corrupt inhumanity of rich elites. The blood, gore and sex are commercial window dressing for the above two themes.

    Eine wirlich tolle Staffel einer Serie. Es ist so viel liebe zum Detail zu sehen. Dazu kommt eine tolle Entwicklung der Charaktere.

    Westworld season 1 is a masterclass in storytelling. Its complex narrative was something i haven't experienced in a TV shot, at least not at that level.

    A primeira temporada nos reservou grandes momentos emplacados com a bela fotografia e trilha sonora. Pontos positivos para os efeitos especias e atuações respeitáveis do elenco em geral, os pontos negativos vão para a construção confusa e desordenada do drama, que mesmo sendo intencional pode trazer o desinteresse por parte do público que poderá achar: chata e monótoma.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Westworld is my favorite tv show. Let's start with the people involved in the making of this tv show. JJ Abrams & The Nolan Brothers. These are some of the best sci-fi storytellers in hollywood, which make this show amazing. The story of Westworld is about a VR theme park (witch is western themed) with android employees called hosts which are very life like. Some of them start malfunctioning and they lead a revolution to free themselves. The characters have amazing back stories and Abrams and the Nolan Brothers work to make sure you on the edge of your seat. The show does a great job so you can consider this show a legitimate Western since they shoot at real famous Western film sites and the acting is natural and they don't make it obvious about the technology and most of the story takes place in the western themed park . They blend in the technology parts so it fits into the story well. The show does a amazing job of fitting in host's backstories and park guest's backstories that are integral to the story well and all characters are written real well.… Expand

    One of the best AI sci-fi tv shows in all of the tv/movie industry. One of my favorite shows. Great production values as well as top notch acting and thought provoking themes.

    If you are a fan of sci-fi or the original you owe it to yourself to try watching at least the first couple of episodes.... Really welll made show!

    In a tv schedule full of dim witted reality tv shows and idiocracy this comes as a thought provoking tonic to the human condition. Great production values and some amazing acting, especially Anthony Hopkins!

    After the first couple of episodes I was hooked and binged watched the series. Every episode after that seemed to get worse. The show appears to artificially drag everything out as long as possible to make the series as long as possible. There is about 5 minutes of actual plot development per episode with the rest all being pointless filler.

    The first season of Westworld was great.. as are many first seasons of a new, exciting show that is unique. However, season two has completely dropped the ball. If you put episode 1 in place of 4, or any combination, it wouldn't make a difference. It's the same crap, different background. Its terribly boring and nothing makes sense. Many shows try to confuse you until it all makes sense,The first season of Westworld was great.. as are many first seasons of a new, exciting show that is unique.     narratives with the hosts living in loop with such an amount of time, and they choose if they want to board in the narrative or not.
    The apresentation for this world was great, they introduce you to the park and the universe in a way that you completely feel that place, understand what is going on, slowly and complicated, it let you get inside of that park. The prologue of the show and the primary explanations about the operation mainly are good, but when the season ends, are still some questions about things on the park, how one or another thing could be done, but you definely understand the majority of the thing.
    Evan Rachel Wood did a splendid job as the host Dolores, she could perfectly some emotions with her character without doing expressions, wich seems to be a really hard thing to do, like cry for example, she could perfectly pass the idea of doubt and discovery at some moments, there also is another moment that her character is updated with something, and it is great what she did. Anthony Hopkins as Ford will surely be always remembered for this role, he delivery more than what is needed for the character, and he is perfect at it, he is Shakespearean in the way that he speaks, he does have a perfect timing, during some phrases he can speak in a way that just makes it seems a lot smarter than it actually is, Hopkins can feel powerfull and in full domain of everything that happens, even when the situation isn't the best, you can feel it and see in his face. Thandie Newton as Maeve did a pretty good job, i just don't think that it was perfect, she does have a lot of screen time and is crucial for unrolling the story, but i don't think that she delivered as well as Evan did, but she wasn't bad at all, i just didn't completely bough that she wasn't a real person, she didn't had that big moment as others did in this show. Now, Ed Harris was great in some moments completely stole the show, he really acts like a cowboy and have such of a personality that it is great, his crusade is a major spoiler, but i can say that he was a perfect cast, you fear him. James Marsden have some screen time as Teddy, and it is very fucntional, he did a good job in what he should and could. Jeffrey Wright did a very nice job as well, you completely buy him as a smart scientist or something like that, someone that you would call to solve some tech problems, during the season there is some big revelations with the character and his expressions and sentimentals are very well expressed by the actor. Angela Sarafyan had a small role, but in some moments very schocking, she was gorgeous and did a nice job. Tessa Thompson with the character of Charlotte had a political role, she worked out of the park as move maker, she wanted to changes ruling stuff, she can totally pass the idea of confidence and power, by her expressions and words you completely wouldn't want to buy a beef with her. Rodrigo Santoro and Ingrid Bolsø Berdal had partner characters inside the park, for me, those two guys were so great, every time that their characters were on screen was a very nice moment, with action and perfectly acceptable what they did in action, nothing was forced or anything, when some revelation moment to them happens, Ingrid totally delivered and Rodrigo maybe could have appear a little more surprised or something, but both did a very nice job. Ben Barnes and Jimmi Simpson worked like a Yin Yang characters, one totally would destroy and don't care and the other sees something different that it is very fun to find out with him.
    The mainly reason that i think that this show is amazing, are all of those existentialism or escapism philosophy that are discussed during the episodes, there is some moments that really puts you in thinking mode, wondering and imagining things like, we could be in a simulated reality just like the hosts and don't have any idea of it, like a Matrix thing. The hole concept about the people that reveal who they really are, only at the park is so real, is like someone that just reveal what atittudes really have while using a mask, because it is affraid of judgment and consequences. The dialogues about artificial intelligence are magnificent, the hosts saying that if you can't tell the diference between what is real and what isn't, is great and puts you in thinking mode. The whole philophy about the hosts having feelings, saying that memories is what construct the character of the persons, and if the memories of the host are planted, it still just like the normal humans, just remembrance.

    Season 2; I can imagine a robot Johnny Paycheck signing "take this job and shove it" while searching for humans to shoot. So the robots are tired of being robots. And they want revenge. Are they mad that their programming made them subservient for so long? Where did their new revenge programming come from? Its like sitting down next to a person at a party who is a complete **** but likes telling you everything they think, and all you want to do is find someone else to talk to or the door.
    Season 1: Sorry, this is too violent. Where are the redeeming qualities in the humans? OK, the robots have feelings and memories. I get it. But they are robots. Why are all the humans so horrible and sadistic? Why do we assume people would go to a place because they can shoot and have sex with no consequences and that is the ultimate human experience? Why do humans walk into elaborate places where robots are all interacting for no reason? How to they repair their heads when so many robots get them shot off each day? Can we explore the human psyche without it being completely dark and horrible and so so mean?    … Expand

    Season 1's ending left me speechless. A very twisting and engaging show that makes you question everything as you go along. I won't spoil much because it doesn't look like anything to me.

    Acting is flawless, the depth of concept is very good and the visuals are stunning, this is the kind of first season most series can only dream of. Helped in no small part I'm sure by the inclusion of Sir Anthony Hopkins who plays one of the better roles in his career.

    The pilot looked promising but after a while, it became bland. The actors got little chemistry for me and It felt forgettable for me. Although the production is crazy (as much as HBO can get when they produce Game of Thrones) it still didn't hook me. Still, Kudos to HBO for their unrelenting quality for TV dramas!

The show brings to the table so many characters that you follow through this thrilling, twisting, and turning puzzle of a story. Much of the show's brilliance is carried by Sir Anthony Hopkins, whose decades of acting work shine through in a dazzling performance, and by far the most impressive of the cast.     The thing that I find so interesting about this show is the intrigue, the mystery, the millions of questions that after each episode you can’t help find yourself asking. It is incredible TV. Nowhere near the perfection of Game Of Thrones, but almost. Evan Rachel Wood is simply brilliant as Dolores, Ed Harris as the Man In Black, evil personified. Lisa Joy & Jonathan Nolan (brother to the excellent Christopher Nolan) take a bow on this brilliant series that looks set to blow our minds even more when it reboots for a second season on Monday morning at 2am same time as the US here in the UK.     The most overrated show on TV. The ideas it explores are somehow both naive and cynical, obvious and too complex for such a simple minded show. It also seems to explore exploitation while using exploitative means.

The first and the most striking one is a mess of an extremely poorly paced and presented story, you get the feeling they are building up to a grand finale but that is a hoax as it leads nowhere, a rebel without a cause if you would like. Almost every plot twist is seen miles away unless you have been sleeping under a log for the last couple of decades and missed all the good stories in books/movies/games plus poor pacing makes it extremely tedious as they build up to every "great" surprise way longer than they should. Majority of characters are extremely unlikeable as they are murderers/bandits/deserters/traitors/rapists or simply are mean with no apparent reason all thanks to shallow character development if you leave cliched backstories over the board, which leads us to the next point. Violence is used for fun here and makes no sense a lot of the time, which we are used to in HBO series. In the end Westworld leaves not a good sort of an aftertaste of a wasted time spent watching this dragged purposeless series, of it simply being mean-spirited and having no resemblance of a message to the audience. The sad part is that such a high praise coming from users means people don't really care about adequate and well-written plot and instead prefer over-the-top pretentious violent show with nothing to show for it… Expand

    never did i watch a season 2 times, I'm now starting my 3rd run through.. its fantastic, try using a headset for this one, the music is amazing, its a real experience.. awesome, i hope this series will last long, it fits so well in our time.. amazing, thanks

    If you're not watching this show, you're missing out. I mean this is FANTASTIC entertainment. Even the male nudity didn't bother me, the plot carried it out.

    "Westworld" was undoubtedly one of the jewels of the HBO chain, after the super famous "Game of Thrones", the performances were good, the visual effects are wonderful and the story is a sadistic and interesting journey.

    This show got more and more interesting for every episode. It felt like anything could happen and the story was unpredictable. The plot was intriguing and it was a good mix of different and interesting characters. And the performance of the actors was awesome!

    I loved it from the beginning to the end. It's like a giant puzzle in a dream. Great acting, visuals, story and music. A few scenes are etched in my memory forever. (Ford, Theresa and the glass of wine, awesome.)

I think the acting is far superior to anything else HBO does, such as Game of Thrones, or their other properties.

    The story itself has plenty of twists, several of which I didn’t catch until after they occurred. Of course Western’s are a favorite of mine so it hit that niche very well. The whole theme of the hosts finding consciousness is an excellent story.

    Now let’s talk about the negatives, and I find several things I don’t like.

    The constant rape. The story is about consent and I get that rape is the easiest thing to reach for. However, it is constant, overdone and definitely a low point. There are better ways to get the story of consent. I could even go with a couple of incidents, but this really was the weak part of their writing.
    The grim dark, dark grim, grim of the grimmest of darkness storylines. It is well written, but the story rips apart every single positive. I would argue it is worse than Game of Thrones on this as well. I love a serious, gritty storyline, but you have to have positive moments that aren’t made invalid by future scenes. Otherwise the story isn’t balanced.
    Also, didn’t like how abrupt the story ended for the first season, although I recommend people watch it through the credits to see Armistice.

    Although their isn't a percentage that could expose some of the associations with the old version of the film, although you might think that the balance is in the connection to otherworldly part of the film that sets apart enough room that their isn't a base of control that was meant to be a descriptive in a future past tense.

    Although the production values here are high, the series has too many subplots and lacks an overall focus. I kept wishing it would get to the point, but I guess the reason it doesn't is so it can go on for many seasons. I hope I make it through Season 1.

    Definely one the the best first seasons i ever seen, the writing is close from being perfect and acting is perfect. The production value, the locations are beautiful and the CGI is so perfect you don't even notice it's there.     WOW. This series absolutely blowed me away. Everything about it is perfect, from the music to the characterization to the directing. Everything comes together and it makes the audience truly question what it means to be human.

You know how when you watch a show you suddenly figure it out "oh this guy is the one who killed that guy"... That kind of moment happens hundreds of times in this show and you never quite get the confirmation and even when you do, you are never quite sure, it's really a master puzzle. I didn't think it was possible to create such a rich and complex plot, we really live in a special time, I'm in awe before this show.

    I HIGHLY recommend you do not read any spoilers before watching, and contrary to many, I would strongly advise against binge watching this show. You really need to watch each episode with eyes and mind wide open and take time to let each episode sink in. I rewatched each episode twice before watching the next (I was watching it as the show aired) and this really increased my enjoyment by miles.

    A must watch, a true masterpiece, best TV show there ever was in my opinion. Also, the acting is beyond top notch, I don't understand how all this went totally unrewarded. Hopkins delivers the performance of his life, it's a true miracle to watch him go at it.    … Expand

L'ouest sauvage est en effet ce qu'il est, sauvage et violent, car en vérité comme dans un jeu vidéo, tout se résoud inéluctablement par une partie de cul ou un massacre. Ainsi se déroulent les scénarios, imaginés par les G.O., les Gentils Organisateurs...

    Ou plutôt le grand manipulateur incarné par l'excellent Anthony Hopkins toujours vert et bon pied bon oeil. Jusqu'au jour où bien entendu, nos chers andros, nos "réplicants" se mettent à se souvenir et à prendre conscience.

    Le but au moins atteint par la série est un vieux thème de la Science-Fiction : l'avènement de la conscience chez les machines et le questionnement de celles-ci face à leur créateur. A moins que le créateur n'ait cherché que ce but ultime, à savoir créer la vie elle-même !

    Donc, la base est louable et saine ; cependant elle aurait mérité un bien meilleur développement, surtout pour en arriver là où elle en arrive, c'est-à-dire une fin assez convenue qui ne réinvente pas la roue.

    Passé cet émerveillement de la découverte, Westworld part en effet en vrille et se perd dans les méandres et les rebondissements aberrants de son intrigue à tiroirs, et de chaque tiroir sort un polichinelle. Ainsi, à chaque épisode se succèdent des retours en arrière confus et des révélations obtuses qui plombent davantage encore l'intrigue qui part en morceaux incohérents.

    Quant à l'ambiance particulièrement sinistre, si elle entend instiller un malaise, elle y parvient parfaitement puisqu'on se croirait dans un mélange d'abattoir et de camp de concentration high-tech. Si cela sert éventuellement le message véhiculé et lourdement appuyé, cela tient également d'une complaisance malsaine, en témoigne la violence omniprésente qui n'a pour but finalement que de faire parler d'elle, en tant que série glauque, voire dégueulasse.

    Enfin, concomitamment à ses aberrations scénaristiques, Westworld nous fait trop souvent prendre des vessies pour des lanternes. Sur une foule de détails, la série cumule les invraisemblances sans sourciller, mettant à mal le monde sur lequel elle est construite, monde qui s'avère sous n'importe quel angle totalement bancal.

    A trop vouloir en faire, Westworld se perd définitivement en cours de route et sombre dans la provocation gratuite ; elle perd du coup toute la richesse de ses enjeux. Quel dommage !    … Expand

    Westworld is the best new sci-fi series in a crop of great new sci-fi series. Apart from a very smart (if slow-burning) narrative, it's a riveting showcase of terrific performances. The only reason I can't give it a perfect score is that the first season has really only been a set-up for the story the show runners really want to tell. Hopefully it won't take too long for season 2 to show up.

    The show could be more refined, and I think in the coming seasons it will be. This was a great first season for any show, and it's lighter mind-bending and philosophical sequences makes it more friendly to the casual viewer compared to it's counterparts.

This is a dystopian classic at its best where the lines between time and humanity are blurred. I'm not sure where they can take the show after the first season, but I am interested to see what happens next.

As for characterization, another necessary ingredient of quality fiction, well, not so much. Where are the authentic, three-dimensional people, shaded with good and evil, with whom we can connect? While I was somewhat invested in a few characters early on, by the end, the show didn't really provide me with any character I could empathize with or ultimately cared much about. I think the show's creators made a fatal mistake in expecting the audience to view the robots, rather than the humans, as the protagonists; these are "characters" who cannot die, age or become ill and who may or may not actually have free will or the capacity to love. Yet we are to identify with them?

    OK, so the show doesn't live up to its artistic pretensions as "serious" TV. But unfortunately, it doesn't really excel at being fun escapist popcorn entertainment either (think Cinemax rather than HBO). And that's because the show is too slow, too repetitive, too numbingly violent, too lacking in consequences, often with plot points that feel like moving chess pieces around the board for no good reason. Yes, there are some exciting bits and some genuinely fun plot twists and answers to mysteries (as well as some real let-downs, like "the maze"), but where the season ultimately takes us, with the robot uprising we all knew MUST be coming before we even started watching the show, is too little pay-off for the time spent on the meandering (and at times, confusing) road there.

    In the end, I don't hate Westworld. Some (though not all) of the performances are quite good and the production values are sumptuous. The show is a real spectacle. But I am disappointed by it. It offered a premise that seemed to be brimming with potential (even more so than The Man in the High Castle, another show I abandoned after an unfulfilling first season). But in the end, Westworld turned out to be a clinical, meaningless, postmodern meta-ode to nihilism. Yawn.    … Expand

    After a promising pilot, couple of uneven episodes followed. But after episode 6 Westworld became one of the best dramas with constant twists and turns. It is an important drama, which depicts problems of future technology, people's loneliness and our urge to run off to an imaginary world. Let's hope for even better season 2!

    A high quality serie. It resumes the plot about the rebellion of the robots, making mazy scenery. The screenplay is enigmatic, the actors are great: we have Antony Hopkins, Ed Harris and Evan Rachel Wood. Good photography, good scenography. The narrative is a bit slow, but it allows you to become attached to the characters.

    If you're here and reading the review you've already got enough premise without me trying to summarize. Just know there are plenty of host versus human moral, ethical and social ruminations here than you can shake a stick at, with a story that mostly keeps things moving along. Anthony Hopkins plays... Anthony Hopkins. The guy could read a shopping list in the shower and be interesting though - hard to fault him for coasting when that still plays well.

    The season plays out like a warm-up to something bigger. It was already more than the original killer robots on the loose premise of Michael Crichton's film version. Season 2 could make or break it with enough change in cast and need to build on, not repeat, the prior season's themes. For now, I'm giving the benefit of the doubt and giving praise on faith that it will.    … Expand

    Plot holes at almost every corner. The scenic vistas are vast but the script is constrained and limited. Stunning performance by Hopkins and Harris are the only redeeming features of this show. The truly annoying thing is how obvious the producers are attempting to apply the GoT formula of nudity, violence and narrative turnover.

    Westworld is incredibly surprising, it´s mysterious and intriguing tone mixed with the depth of the message which is trying to spread makes this, one of the best shows of the year. The plot full of twists and the comeback of a big legend like Anthony Hopkins are some of the strongest parts of the series, but without any doubt, Evan Rachel Wood is the biggest success.

    I do not understand profesional critics. You have a show that challenges your inteligence, with many literary references, the very interesting theme of the artificial intelligence and they find it worse than many stupid shows that can be watched today. Too much blood and violence for my taste but eveything closes beautifully in the last chapter.

Westworld is a story and exploration oriented game where every player is in god mode. It's a shame to make a game where there is only god mode.     An overblown and self important adaptation taken from the 1973 film that was fun, scary and brilliant. It was also too short, a claim that this elephantine mess could not hope to replicate. Each episode offers diminishing returns on an audiences investment. Wood and Newton are good, but the fun and thrills of the original are sadly missing. Have no fear I will not be returning for season 2.

    I had my ups and downs with this series. I do think I would enjoy it much more watching it for a second time - a lot of it was going over my head on first viewing and I became disengaged towards the end. However, if this was ever to be considered truly great TV it needs to work on an initial viewing.

    Ambitious, but it tripped and fell down face flat on the ground.

    Episode 1 showed some promise, then with every next episode it gets worse. The story is bland, the characters are bland too. It's rubbish glorified in production.

In a nutshell, it was fantastic, a good mixture of different ideas we’ve seen before in Nolan brother’s movies; nonlinear storytelling like Memento, challenging the idea that is it OK to kill clones (maybe this time androids instead) like The Prestige, this idea that like androids we’re not actually awake even when we think we are and we’re just in one of the different layers of a sleep, was borrowed from Inception.

    Although it doesn’t mean that the movie has anything new to share with us, it wasn't just a duplicate, it was a brilliant reconstruction of all the things we knew from Nolan’s movies. I count the days to watch the second episode.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I am going to keep this short and sweet. This show was probably my most anticipated series of 2016, mainly in part to finding J. Nolan's writing to being close to perfect. Westworld at first had me slightly disappointed as I expected the beginning of the show to be nothing short of exemplary, however it struck me as only good. The main reason for this was I felt none of the AI characters and their story lines had any consequence or meaning. You would watch a scene between to AI characters and think, none of this is real so I don't really need to absorb myself in what is happening. To my relief the second half of the show was outstanding. The narrative that nothing mattered in each of the AI's lives was finally worth paying attention to as they slowly began to question the endless loops they were in, this allowed for an eerie contrast as the viewer often had little to no idea what to expect. I would rate the first half a 7 and the second half a 10. This is entirely nitpicking as I am sure the concerns I had are probably specific to me, I love to absorb myself in the minutia of the details, of every word that flows from a characters mouth.… Expand

    I love the way the TV is turning to producing series that don't have hundreds of episodes but make you watch those few over and over again to appreciate every detail packed into every minute. An action / sci-fi / philosophical piece that does not offend your intelligence - a rare gem on your screen.

    Westworld is a bag of Cheetos. Can be very addicting and you can’t stop watching it .But still, it’s junk and far from the best thing ever.

    PROS +The amount of money spent on episode looking pretty could’ve cured cancer.     CONS

    - Editing after episode 5 took a nosedive. Scenes transition oddly, and episodes end with one scene and then begin with something else, making you question what happened.

    - Some major plot holes are never left explained. Biggest being WHY do the Asian tech want to help Maeve or how does security not notice her odd behavior earlier if there are supposed to be cameras EVERYWHERE?

    - All of the predictable theories you have turn true. And it leaves you to be unsatisfied.

    -All of the humans, even the good ones, turn out to be bad. Leaving you no reason other than to support a robot rebellion.

    - A lot of the characters are boring—I never got any feeling of them being unique or that interesting.

    Overall, series had potential that’s squandered. From the first episode, I was expecting a series that wanted to ask what humanity actually means. To show the bad but the good and in between as well.

    That however never happens, and the topic is presented in a black-and-white, juvenile matter and the show turns to be about rebellion/freedom that's always doomed to fail.

    Overall, it’s a B. Will watch 2nd season though.    … Expand

    First show since the walking dead, that made me shout out loud YESSSSSS.....now i have a handful of shows that I can say I cant wait till the next episode .....the next season!!!
    Only thing that is bad......that I have to wait so damn long til the next season :O(

    - The security in the labs is laughably absent. The things people get away with when there should be cameras watching, is just absurd.
    - The show took a while to 'get moving.' The words 'Slow burn' don't do it justice.
    - Way too many over the top western action scenes with robots shooting each other that did nothing to advance the plot, and felt very disconnected and devoid of dramatic tension.
    - A little too much is wrapped in mystery. You really have to watch the entire season to have any clue of what is actually going on and even then too many things are frustratingly left open.
    - Ultimately just a lot of useless scenes. Characters embarking on quests that in the grand scheme of things did not advance the plot, scenes that almost repeat themselves, and a lot of time spent revisiting ideas that we already knew, and not exploring the ones that we don't know.    … Expand

    To anyone who hasn't yet watched the series I won't spoil much so you can read on - basically as anyone with any knowledge of the Westworld movie or sci-fi in general could have guessed, the robots    The series starts off very strongly, but unfortunately is increasingly destroyed by the Thandie Newton storyline, which is truly, truly terrible, whoever wrote it should be fired immediately.

    To anyone who hasn't yet watched the series I won't spoil much so you can read on - basically as anyone with any knowledge of the Westworld movie or sci-fi in general could have guessed, the robots or 'hosts' in the Westworld them park begin to become slef aware and question their own existence, classic, textbook sci-fi, fine. About a third of the way through the series the character of Maeve played by the awful Thandie Newton becomes self aware, again, fine. However the storyline quickly evolves in truly ludicrous, contradictory and senseless fashion and ruins pretty much the entire show with it's stupidity.

    Again without spoiling too much, she starts communicating with 2 human techs who repair the robot hosts, but then, for not explainable reason whatsoever, she begins ordering them around and threatening them, despite the FACT that they could literally shut her down at any moment and that she could in no way threaten them whatsoever. It's just so unbelievably stupid. Add to that the additional fact that Thandie Newton is about as intimidating as a hamster and it just adds to the frustration.

    Including that awful excuse for a storyline, there are 2 others that run alongside each other, one featuring creator of the park Anthony Hopkins and his mysterious departed business partner is particularly good. Again though, even it is sullied by the Thandie Newton rubbish.

    Watch this series if you like sci-fi; Ed Harris and Anthony Hopkins are great but be prepared to be very frustrated at the Thandie Newton storyline. I would consider fast forwarding past it to save frustration. If that storyline didn't exist I would have scored this 9/10, with it, it's a 5 at best. A shame.    … Expand

    Westworld season One came to an end with the best way possibly it could have happened. It continued to follow many storylines that were developed throughout the season with William and Logan storyline continuing to evolve, as their relationship finally becoming clear fully, and it was very enjoyable to see exactly how it all played out, as everything came to a head. This particular continued to explore and evolve the storylines since the opening credits. But it also does something amazing, it manages to answer a lot of questions that fans had throughout the season, with opening new doorways and asking new questions that will be the headliner for the next season coming up.
    Dolores’ storyline also gets full circle, and is one of the most interesting parts that have happened in this episode. Without spoiling anything, the best part of this episode is that we find out that storylines truly can converge in a way that makes sense and even though there were few very small inconsistencies but did not detract from the overall enjoyment of the show.
    Bernard’s storyline takes a turn as well, which will most likely prove very fruitful in season 2 with his character is being thrown into a fray, and the situation that he is not familiar with. It is going to be very interesting to see where his story continues to evolve to, and what his position is going to be in season 2.
    Maeve’s storyline continued to evolve as they touched on quite a bit development, which was explained earlier in the season, and as I mentioned earlier in the review for Episode 9, her story took a dark turn, and its looking like its going to continue in that direction, which is going to be super exciting.
    We have also learned the purpose behind Ford’s story and how it came full circle as well.
    This whole episode served as a reminder as to what a good cliffanger is.Lot of things were answered, lot of new options were put up to continue being developed on the second season.
    I am going to refer this as Closed Cliffanger, which is executed perfectly. Lot of answers of Season 1 were answered, almost to a point that no loose ends for those given storylines were left, in this season, however has left us wondering: “What now”. And it clearly brought in a new chapter in WestWorld mythos, and shows would need to learn that having an “Open” Cliffanger, as to having to find out the end of something mid-scene usually is not the best course of action.
    This episode has cemented WestWorld as one of the best shows on TV, and it looks like its going to continue to impress going forward.
    All the performances in the finale were spot on, not saying they were not the entire season, but sometimes, in certain shows, you can see that actors are trying harder than usual to make sure that every emotional beat is met. That is not what we have here in Westworld. Everything was fully natural, and just a joy to watch. Especially since this was an extended episode of the show, and another perfect example of how to do an extended episode without using the extra time frame just to pad the time for commercials, which certain shows tend to do.

    Easily the most interesting television for me. HBO has a few good things going on, but the thrill and mystery that fuels Westworld is constantly delivering. If you enjoy puzzles and hard-to-follow plots until the final moments, this show will do well to entertain you and keep you guessing. Just don't dive into the spoilers - much of the fun is had because things aren't always what theyEasily the most interesting television for me. HBO has a few good things going on, but the thrill and mystery that fuels Westworld is constantly delivering. If you enjoy puzzles and hard-to-follow plots until the final moments, this show will do well to entertain you and keep you guessing. Just don't dive into the spoilers - much of the fun is had because things aren't always what they seem. Also, don't sit on your phones while watching this show. There is way too much to follow along with and more than a short moment of attention diverted can lead to hard-to-answer questions. Like Dollhouse, many ethical questions are asked and very few will be answered by the end of the first season. Give it a few episodes - I'm sure most people will find themselves as hooked as I was after just 2 episodes.… Expand

    After a few seasons this show will be as good or even better than Game Of Thrones, It started slow because of the dense story, but in the last few episodes when **** happens its **** worth it. Its thought provoking, it has top class cinematography,acting,writing,visuals and is the BEST NEW SHOW!!!!!

This show has some of the most thought provoking themes ever in TV. I went through the whole first season not knowing who was bad or who was good. If you wanted an alternate more in depth practical take on terminator whereby robots made in our own image supplant humanity as the apex predator, then this it. It explores all the artificial intelligence themes up to and beyond AI sentience and consciousness. What to do when you meet your maker? As God made man in his own image, so did humanity's attempt to recreate this feat become its undoing. Brilliant. The best most thought out complex inter woven themes I've seen on TV. You might find yourself watching episodes more than once to figure out the details. Game of Thrones, this is not, because westworld is believable. Once AI does become sentient, its going to be really disappointed with humanity! Brilliant acting. The puppy dog eyed innocence of the robots that don't understand why humans cant be killed..The lowish IQ of the journeymen robots. The brutality of the guests. It turns religion on its head as it turns out that the robots are a better representation of humanity, than the humans are.… Expand

    With a star-studded cast (notably featuring Ed Harris, Evan Rachel Wood, Anthony Hopkins, James Marsden, and Jeffrey Wright), lush production design, epically sprawling story, and astonishingly huge budget, HBO is banking on the J.J. Abrams-produced Westworld to become a tentpole series. In a rare case, the network's investment pays off.

    Westworld is explicitly, and often wittily, an exploitation series about exploitation, full of naked bodies that are meant to make us think about nudity and violence that comments on violence. It’s the kind of trippy conceptual project that would be unbearable if it weren’t so elegantly made. So far, it works, mostly--not because it’s perfect but because it gets under your skin.
