    It's not groundbreaking and it's not particularly clever, but I still find myself coming back every week.

    It's definitely playing off of my love for Lost, and it's more successful at it than "Under the Dome" did (man that was a bad show). Every episode leads to dozens of new questions, and each answer leads to more questions. However, WP doesn't hover on every questions for long. You    It's not groundbreaking and it's not particularly clever, but I still find myself coming back every week.

Every episode leads to dozens of new questions, and each answer leads to more questions. However, WP doesn't hover on every questions for long. You get satisfying answers a lot sooner than you'd think. The acting is great for the most part, but that leads me to the bad...

    Although the acting is good, they aren't given much to work with in terms of dialogue. Characters speak very plainly. There's no artfulness to the language. They try to draw it out, as if that makes it better, but you know what the character's point is before they make it - if that makes sense. Luckily the performances are usually enough to balance this out to make it bearable.

    If you like shows that induce a lot of speculation, fan theories, etc., then you'll probably enjoy the show. I'm all caught up as of now and from what I've seen I know I'll be sticking with the show - at least through the season.    … Expand

    Wow. I at first thought Wayward Pines would be a (Perhaps better) Twin Peaks knock off - but it is awesome, different, and unique. Starting in episode three the show;s story-line takes a twist that I didn't see coming....and the landscape keeps getting more bizarre after episode 5. Good acting but gotta give kudos to Nurse Pam....love to hate her!!!! Good writing. Can't wait to seeWow.     Vistos los primeros cinco capítulos, Wayward Pines me parece un gran entretenimiento, bastante adictivo. Y visto el quinto capítulo, absolutamente genial y revelador, los cinco capítulos restantes prometen. Que el episodio piloto no os eche para atrás, esta es una buena serie con momentos que no esperas.

    This show reminds me a lot of the 1960's TV series "The Prisoner". That being said, the show suffers a bit from it's lacking originality, it feels like the plot has been done before. Yet "Wayward Pines" has something intriguing and exciting to it. I doesn't get boring at any stage, making it surprisingly addictive. Even more surprising is that M.     I'm not sure you guys posting the low reviews realize that this show is based on a trilogy written by Blake Crouch, so it's not like Shyamalan is making it up as he goes. If you think it's predictable then you must be clairvoyant because when the truth was revealed in the books I was totally shocked.     Hitchcock meets "The Golden Age of TV". M Night Shyamalan has been influenced by Alfred Hitchcock in the way how he creates atmospheres and suspense. I understand why people hates Shyamalan, and I don't blame them, but I believe in come backs and new opportunities. What we are calling "The Golden Age of TV" today, has been a master class for everybody, including famous films directors. IHitchcock meets "The Golden Age of TV". I think is very interesting to see how Shyamalan creativity will work on TV, maybe it is the right place for him (I liked the homage to LOST and other tv shows with some shots) After watching many new pilots lately, this one worked pretty good. It gave enough information without creating a cheap drama or giving away many answers. The premise of the story is intriguing, even if it might sound familiar like a Twilight Zone episode. The acting and productions values as cinematography and production design are great and so the music. I liked that there are 2 points of views, inside Wayward Pines and outside of it. I believe Wayward Pines is a tv show that it could take us anywhere. Shyamalan's work also has had a social criticism; it would be interesting to see the meaning behind the mystery town.… Expand

    So far (2nd episode completed), so good! If you liked Twin Peaks, you'll like wayward pines. Matt Dillion is great in the lead. Tone and plot intriguing and very addictive. Great show!

    Although derivative it seems to be finding its own path. We have the governor from TWD, we have the inability to leave from The Dome and The Returned etc. What we do have that makes it worth watching is an excellent cast, although no one is not expendable, so the cast may change, and some unnerving twist and turns. Definitely worth the summer viewing.

He has a car wreck and wakes up in the strange town of Wayward Pines, Idaho. But this is no ordinary town. They have no contact with the outside world. There is no internet or TV. No phone calls get through to anyone beyond theThree episodes in (out of 10) and, I've gotta say, you have me sucked in "Wayward Pines". Secret Service Agent Ethan Burke is searching for two missing coworkers. He has a car wreck and wakes up in the strange town of Wayward Pines, Idaho. But this is no ordinary town. They have no contact with the outside world. There is no internet or TV. No phone calls get through to anyone beyond the city limits.

    The town is filled with bizarre inhabitants. Nurse Pam is super menacing (and so far is my favorite character). My second favorite is Pope (the ice cream eating sheriff). There are also rules that all citizens obey OR ELSE. They include (and I'm paraphrasing here): 1. Dont Talk About Your Past; 2. Dont Try To Leave; 3. Always Answer The Phone; 4. Enjoy Your Time In Wayward Pines.

    I dont want to go into detail since that would reveal the plot but all sorts of strangeness is going on. I have no idea what it all means. I'm also not sure who (if anyone) Ethan can trust in this town.

    Matt Dillon is excellent in the lead role of Ethan Burke. The rest of the cast is also great. The other standouts for me are Melissa Leo (Nurse Pam) and Terrence Howard (Sheriff Pope).

    So far, I'm really liking "Wayward Pines". It's living up to it's tag line of "expect the unexpected". However, I reserve the right to change my mind later. I've been burned far too many times by M Night Shyamalan. And yes I'm still upset about "The Village".    … Expand

    Wayward Pines is what M. Night Shaymalan used to be. Normally his movies ares synonymous with terrible, but this show is actually pretty good, very suspenseful. It is without a doubt the best new show of 2015 so far.

    Only one episode is out, and we all know most new shows take time for the director, and actors to get into their roles. Even the most classic shows I have seen usually follow that pattern. That being so the first episode seems to have been very well done. The quality of acting and direction seems really strong. That should be expected as they seem to have a top notch group of actors. And since you really don't know anything about what is really going on it makes it difficult to know exactly where this is going. And since you don't know where it's going it's hard to know how to grade it, just from the first show. So I give it a 7, as it is already better than most of the new shows I have seen.

    In truth it reminds me of a more serious "Wilfred". Basically when you first see that you realize the guy is crazy, and through drug induced stupors is talking to his neighbor's dog. Whom he feel's talks back and leads him to do crazy things. Then after about 4 seasons and through many bizarre twists, you eventually found out you were right. Wayward pines has already laid the foundation that this could be one of many psychotic events of the main character. A sinister government conspiracy to make wayward agent's disappear. One of those crazy out of control small towns everyone fears exist. Or a rogue agent imprisoning many agents/people for his own insidious plots. And those are just the possibilities I noticed.

    And all I can say is if they laid that many possibilities in the pilot episode this could be one very intriguing ride. It's almost impossible to judge for sure on the first episode, but with this great of an acting crew, and the first episode directed so well. This could be one great ride. Especially if the director is smart enough to film multiple endings and use the one people least expect in the end. But if it ends up being what you thought from the first episode you might just feel taken.    … Expand

    Wayward Pines (2015) provides an eerie atmosphere with great role characters and unexpected twists.
    It is one treat that is absolutely, definitely and undeniably worth the wait.

There's a rooted sense of dread when one is faced with unknown elements, the series plays with this isolation fright as Ethan Burke (Matt Dillon) is stripped bare from money and communication to outside world. Ethan wakes up after a car accident and finds himself in a foreign small town where the citizens are persistently unaccommodating. While the scenery might look normal, the town has the vibe of lurking secret in every corner. This is definitely no tourist attraction.

    Matt Dillon is a good leading actor, displaying confusion and occasional rage as he is lost in the bizarre city. Having no money, phone or decent help, his reactions are spot-on. At times he displays doubt of the reality as more questions pile up. Terrence Howard as Sheriff Pope looks decently antagonistic. Nothing more creepy when one is lost than unhelpful authority. Another notable performance is Mellisa Leo as Nurse Pam who is far from nurturing, goes beyond unhelpful and straight into perverse torturing nature.

    Wayward Pines looks quaint most of the time, yet the cinematography presents a lingering uneasiness. Its rural view mixed with edges of forest has some resemblances to Silent Hill. It has a particular dark contrast befitting of detective thriller which strangely enough feels welcoming to the audience. Pacing is pretty quick as it switches back and forth between Ethan's ordeal and his friends' investigation of his whereabouts.

    Mysteries are aplenty as it the show spreads them throughout the first episode. The show cleverly scatters hints for Ethan and the audiences to follow. They are presented with restraint and enough ambiguity to be unnerving yet not to the point of overbearing. These are enticing hooks for later episodes.

    Wayward Pines opens its door with cold unsettling ambiance and cool noir visual. The mystery thriller certainly offers a presentable invitation for a longer stay.    … Expand

    So far it has all the makings to of a very watchable series. The viewer has to pay attention or lose the full effect. Give it time, for now it has earned it.

    On the edge of my seat when I watch this! I love the director Zal Batmanglij who directs episodes 3 and 4. Creepy and fast-paced, By the end of episode 3, we are starting to get answers to the numerous questions the first 2 episodes posed.

    Good show I watched it on Hulu Plus when it was offered as the first episode, it has a dark mood to it but great acting especially from Matt Dillon, and Melissa Leo who plays a wicked nurse. I cant wait to see what happens as this story continues

    I have just read the book series and i found it incredible! So, i watched the tv series and i have to say WAYWARD PINES IS THE BEST MISTERY-THRILLER-SCIENCE FICTION TV SERIES OF ALL TIME! The characters are all well studied and the plot, even if different from the book's one, is amazing and addictive!

    M. Night Shyamalan Redemption. After The Last Airbender and After Earth fiascoes he returns to the psychological thrillers that make in notorious. I think this will be one of the great tv shows of 2015...I believe.

    This is by far the best new series on this year. Episode on may have been a bit too much(boring) for some people; but that was just the first episode. Please take the time to watch the first five episodes and then write a review.

    I loved this series.
    The characters in the movie are intense and you can feel what they feel, the story is pretty deep for all the characters and is really enjoyable and interesting.
    Compairing it with other series, this is one of those series that really catch you by the relation between characters and viewer that make this series exeptional. Wayward Pines, a great work from FOX and FX    I loved this series.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. HMM WOW i saw the entire show and finally i think this is great tv show but its perfect in the ending, finally not a fairy tale happy ending thing.i liked ethan burke statue in the ending :) :) hehe that was funny...
    but there are problems like:
    too many love thing like Ben and that girl ahh i already forgott her name..
    its sad Kate is still alive i mean what the hell she was???? a *** terminator?... she cant get a scratch!...
    i also disliked Theresa she totally didn't fit the whole wayward pines,
    ethan burke was too soft... later the entire show is just a action shooter movie unlike the first 2 best episode it was a mystery, and the ending was great, perfect.    … Expand

    This show has me hooked since episode 1. It's nothing new but the actors do a fantastic job. The story is somewhat dull at some moments, but still a great show and very entertaining.

    At first glance, you somewhat expect to loose interest real quick.     Finding out at the end that the seasons final episode was actually the series final, was a huge disappointment. I felt as if i was tricked,bamboozled...

    There are talks in bringing this show back for a second season, which personally i hope they do... as long as they continue with the working formula of the show up until now, which was to reveal interesting facts, but still muster enough character dialog and story dynamics to keep your focus on the screen.    … Expand

    It's TV designed for people who watch a lot of TV and know a lot of TV, and aren't necessarily coming into Wayward Pines to be stunned by its novelty but to see if a group of talented actors, writers, and filmmakers can stitch a crazy quilt of influences into something coherent and pleasurable. They do. But it takes a while.

    It’s not going anywhere you’d likely suspect, and the big reveal episodes have a lot of explaining to do, but this hyper-paranoid, time-twisting and addictive show is actually laying a foundation for something. How that something eventually plays out remains a question, but the ride there is an undeniable kick.
