Just stumbled upon this show on Netflix. Have to say in these times where comedy shows struggled to find new material, this show nails it. Acting ensemble (especially Robe Lowe and Sian Clifford) is very good. And the Unstable and weirdness of it all works like a charm. On a more deeper level, trying to find a way to struggle with our weirdness and unstableness is sometimes quite hard. A must see.

Rob character seems strikingly familiar to the one he played in parks and rec which isnt the worst idea

There’s soooo much weak content being churned out by Netflix and the other streaming factories. That’s why I grade on a curve. If you’re looking for a simple 10 episode comedy that’s easy to watch, check out Episide 1 because you’ll know if it’s for you. It’s not impactful but sometimes I like to just watch a well-acted show that’s not trying to be dark!

“Unstable” plays a little too conspicuously like a father-and-son bonding opportunity for Rob Lowe and John Owen Lowe, yielding a breezy Netflix comedy series that’s so lightweight it could easily just blow away.

Even without Rob and John Owen Lowe’s father-son dynamic, Unstable would be an above average workplace sitcom. But they are the main attraction, and their scenes together really make the show fun to watch.

A show that can’t often decide whether it’s about that fragmented father-son dynamic, or the eccentricities of tech billionaires, or something in between. To its credit, there’s at least some charm to be found in the show’s eccentric cast and sly verbal wit. Unfortunately, most of that happens when the Lowes are off-screen.
