I started watching True Blood this past weekend. I am at the end of season three right now. As a TV series in general, I have been enjoying True Blood, but mostly because it's one of the few, good, super natural / horror genres that were onI started watching True Blood this past weekend. As a TV series in general, I have been enjoying True Blood, but mostly because it's one of the few, good, super natural / horror genres that were on TV at the time.

With that being said, True Blood isn't without it's fair share of problems. Most of the characters are not simply stupid, but they are also generally unlikeable. I never found myself rooting for any particular character(s), while I often found myself wishing several of them dead. One interesting thing I've noticed is that most of the conflicts in the series are almost always directly the fault of at least one of the characters. Often times due to their aforementioned stupidity.

There are far too many sex scenes in the series that have no place in the show, other than to be a gratuitous sex scene. There is far too much conflict. Every season, characters hardly have more than a day to rest and relax before some other stupid, horrible thing happens to them. Do these characters seriously not get a day off once in awhile? It's a little exhasuting to go from conflict to conflict without any sort of downtime, like a nice slice of life episode. At the end of the day, I feel like this is really just a sexy, vampire "All My Children". I feel like they could have done a better job, but it isn't like they failed.… Expand
