Waste of time. Cinematography, screenwriting, lighting and editing is awfull. Poor actors/actresses have to play their part and do what is told. It is good.....though when you turn your brains on, some moments, actually lot of them are terrible, also its kinda devoid of canon( mean that Lauren H and series itself stated it was based on books)

1.Толерантность это когда прекрасные создания леса (Эльф, Дриады) - это чернокожие, нет, конечно, в мире ведьмака появились Темные Эльфы.
1.1 Кастинг, я ничего не имею против Геральта, Цири, Тиссаи и Мышовура, но другие главные герои это что-то с чем-то
2.То что историю ведьмака можно переписывать, но при этом говорить, что все снято по сюжету книги: История про Золотого дракона, про главу Меньшее зло, про смерть Мышовура (который не должен умереть) огромное спасибо это было ужасно.
3.Атмосфера она была в сериях, особенно в первых, но дальше что-то уже не то.
4.Нет хронологии, вот нам людям, кто читал серию книг, то понятно что происходило и когда. Но другим то нет
Подводя итог хочется заметить, что большинство, кто не читал книги проглотили это, и именно из-за этого мне, как фанату серии, очень грустно, я понимаю, что бюджет возможно был ограничен, но зачем портить историю вот этой толерастией и не ответственным отношением к сюжету.… Expand

The show is alright not that good I can't bring myself to enjoy the show, but somehow, There are things very unacceptable, they Hollywood the series or Americanized I would say, To diversity but unnecessary, The director seems to mess around with the timeline by putting Geralt in the past and Yen way in the past and Ciri in the future, and someone merge Ciri timeline with Geralt timeline, They put random black people in Middle Age European want to mess with the series but let's be real here everyone who is the fan of Witcher yall want a redhead Triss (But the book is reddish hair and chestnut) and good looking Yennefer right (with excellent acting skills ofc), Maybe we should turn Geralt black too. The show is super cheap CGI and costumes are pretty **** Henry Cavil did a wonderful job, but the rest didn't do that great, Feel bad for Henry, I think Netflix spend all their money on him or something… Expand

There are many really stupid phrases that can only be understood in the context of the endless chatter of the gamers in front of the video game screen. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I haven't read any of the books. I played a couple hours of Witcher 3. So to me this show is a bit confusing at times. It's entertaining though. I think Superman does a good job playing the Witcher overall. Yennefer is the best character by far at this point. She is much better then I thought she was going to be. Her storyline is interesting. The monster fights in this show are cool. A couple of the fight scenes felt realistic and are brutal. The only thing that took me out of this show was some of the forced feminist bs.. To start this show has a Queen in charge who is Queen Calanthe. She is the worst character in the show by far. At the beginning they show her in battle. Sorry but it's laughable that a old Queen is actually fighting. She does jump out a window and kills herself so. Unfortunately they show her in a flashback scene fighting again... This flashback scene in episode 4 about Pavetta was so confusing to me. I had to go on YouTube and figure out what was happening. This will confuse people who haven't read the books or played the games. It's the origin story on how Ciri became Geralts child of surprise, Pavetta is in love with a knight who is cursed and causes him to look like a hedgehog.. This flashback scene is poorly set up for people like myself who don't know these characters. Episode 5 was great. It kind of reminded me of the show Supernatural. Episode 6 starts out kind of woke with these two black women Taia and Vaia. They kill a man trying to steal Geralts horse. They are Borch Three Jackdaws bodyguards or something. You can tell this show is ran by women lol Anyways he wants Geralt to join his team to hunt dragons. He agrees because Yennefer is also going with another team. Jackdaws and his two female bodyguards fall off a mountain on the way. But they return at the end of the episode. Jackdaws is in the form of a gold dragon. This was actually pretty cool. He knew Geralt would help protect them from the dragon hunt. This show is like a mix between Elder Scrolls,Supernatural and GOT. The relationship between Geralt and Yennefer is a strong point in this show. I like that Geralt tells her that she's important to him because his nights used to be restless but now he can sleep. She really makes him happy. Although I thought rest was one of his wishes from the previous episode. Episoďe 7 shows the full events of the end of episode 1. Episode 8 was good overall. Kind of reminded me of Harry Potter. But it might as well be called Yennefer. She is the best character and has the most screen time. Her **** were massive in episode 8. I'm not complaining about that. And her powers are cool. She used this fire attack and killed a tone of guys in ballsack armor. Ya the ballsack armor looks so bad.. This show has a extremely diverse cast. At times it does feel forced because it is. It's going to piss some people off. This is a show made by far left feminist. Can't I get away from this??? I'm really getting sick of it... I just watched Star Wars... You would think Hollywood would learn by now... Everything has to be woke and diverse. Even when it hurts the story and characters... I will say this show does have a couple good episodes. And some of the diverse characters are good. But it makes the show feel off at times. Mimi Ndiweni who plays Fringilla is a great example of this. She really felt out of place in the last episode. Bad casting job. It's not a great show. It's not terrible. Хотите пропагандировать толерантность, ок я не против, но придумайте что-то новое, оригинальные сюжеты, а не просто менять расу уже существующих персонажей. Что дальше, король Артур - индус, Геркулес - азиат? Поэтому у людей и горит, потому что это все нелепо. The show may be not perfect in every detail (e.g. Nilfgaard armor, or actress that plays Triss Merrygold), but it is definitely a wonderful recreation of Anrzej Sapkowski's books. Henry Cavill does not play Gwralt - he is Geralt! I can't imagine now anyone, who would be a better actor for that role. Anya Chalotra and Freya Allan make great Yennefer and Ciri as well! Before The Witcher came out, I was afraid that Joey Batey would be a bad Jaskier, but surprisingly he is my second favorite! TL/DR: Show has it's flaws, but it is a must-watch!… Expand

И естественно адаптация под Американского зрителя в первую очередь из-за большего объема рынка. И естественно адаптация нужна потому, что если дословно идти за первоисточником-умрете от скуки, несовременности и странности рассказов из первых двух книг. Да, многое не канон, не рассказывают толком о Ведьмаках и истории Континента, да много взято из головы (история Йен, Мышавура, Кагыра и слабака Вильгефорца) и сделано это ради увеличение хронометража. Да, встречается мист каст. Но это шоу, если относится к нему как к шоу и закрыть глаза на то, на что действительно необходимо их закрыть, получилось оно зрелищным и красивым.… Expand

The story is jam packed, which wouldn't be a bad thing if it were polished, but instead they throw at you stuff that lacks any foundation whatsoever. It feels shallow, there's no depth to the world they're trying to build. Racial diversity is great unless it's forced and that's how it is about everything in this TV show. It could all look good if it were in the right place and at the right time, but instead you're led to believe that the population that's at its lowest point, slitting each other throats for petty differences has somehow managed to overcome racial prejudices and even go woke by today's standards. It's silly and it doesn't sell. The second episode was promising, it introduces the lead female character Yennefer we see in the trailer, which is a deformed young woman who's beaten and bullied around, but who's later discovered by mages to have the ability to control magic in a profound way (also seen in the trailer). I was like, oh hell, finally a real strong female character we've all been waiting for, one who'll despite her deformities and flaws bring the world to heel and prove that physical looks and sex are not the most important factors for a female character. But no, few episodes later she is literally (SPOILER AHEAD) turned by magic into a Slavic Cinderella and it's all Mary Sue from that point on. What a waste... I never played the game, but I hope it's better than this.… Expand

It looks absolutely cheap and funny. Seems like all budget was spent on Henry Cavill’s salary or on something else. Absolute lack of atmosphere, presented in books, strong and unjustified differences in appearance of some characters.

#notmywitcher I'm sure the cast and the crew did their best but it didn't align with my expectations. I'm one of those people that feel disappointed after watching the show, I feel like this is mostly due to my personal bias towards a more#notmywitcher I'm sure the cast and the crew did their best but it didn't align with my expectations. I'm one of those people that feel disappointed after watching the show, I feel like this is mostly due to my personal bias towards a more rough, medieval European based, Slavic in nature version of the story. I've read the books back in high school and they have resonated with me well, unfortunately, it means that I came to the show having a strong vision of what it 'should' be. This is probably the worst pre-condition to have. It made me think that everything with the show is wrong, I haven't felt anything and I was pissed most of the time, nitpicking on every single detail.

Overall the show had this strong feeling of being a theatrical performance, which I couldn't stand... it's like something was always off, the backgrounds seemed fake, the sets were built too perfect without showing much of the wear, the lighting was too perfect and therefore felt fake - like one would expect in a theatre. I consider this as a flaw regardless of my personal preferences, the whole show had this feeling of being a cheap knockoff. If it had a 'big' budget it must have been burnt without producing the results that were expected. Any comparison to the GOT is just a sad joke. If you look at the final trailer or what's being played on Netflix when you select the show it's all based on a quick succession of fast action shots that lasts less than 1 sec. and they look good when shown like that, but when you let them play in full length during the episodes they lose everything... In conclusion, I would rather see the whole budget of this show being redirected to producing a fully CGI version based on the Wild Hunt's intro. Wish you all the best for season2.… Expand

Очень сильно похоже на польские версии Ведьмака, но к ним претензий быть не может, они изначально низкобюджетные, любительские, но Нетфликс... не ожидал что им вообще всё равно что выкатывать. My boyfriend hasn't read the books, so he was confused by the plot, he couldn't understand what's going on. Why the show shows us the fall of Cintra, Heralt's adventures and Yennefer's youth at the same time and there is no indications that all that happened in the different times, there are decades between these events. And in the next episode we see a story about Pavetta and Urcheon of Erlenwald...
The cast isn't perfect. I like Henry Cavill as Herald, he looks not like Heralt from the books, but like Heralt from the games and he is so beautiful man … Expand

2 of the 3 female "leads" are miscast, Cavill is... different, his performance improves in season 2.
I'd wager that if 'flix hadn't forked out millions for the rights and this wasn't The Witcher it would have been cancelled after 1 season.

Season 2 is better but not by much. More awful acting and atrocious dialogue. Dozens of intertwining stories get lost in the ether by bad writing and producing.

And the casting is something else entirely. I don't profess to having encyclopedic knowledge of every bit actor in Europe by any means, but if they've got the word "actor" on their CV Netflix has found them and put them in this show. I don't think I've recognised a single face apart from Cavill's and that Tormund from GoT. I've seen pornstars with better acting ability than this cast

The CGI in both seasons looks like something from the early days of Sharknado. And the sets look like, yes, rejects from Game of Thrones.

The Witcher TV show is wasted opportunity. The reality is it should have followed the games as much as the books. Watching the behind the scenes vignettes and the show runner thinks they are doing a bang-up job. They're not, The Witcher sucks and the only barely redeeming feature is Cavill as Geralt.… Expand

This show even as an independent work is bad - there is not even a hint of realism and logic and the visual component is not pleasing to the eye. But this is a show based on the book, so to say that it is bad show is to praise it. The series is terrible.
The characters are bad, there is not a single match for the book character. Races and kingdoms are poorly represented, magic looks like a laughing stock, the troops of all states look squalid, and witchers look like idiots. Almost all men are exposed as cretins, but women do not lag behind in the stupidity of their actions and judgments.
The plot is disgusting - in the first season there was still an attempt to show the events of the book, but in the season 2 authors decided to tell something of their own, distorting the original source. It came out awful.
What can I say about this show? Lauren Hissrich, writers and other directors - mediocrity, which should be throw away from the series. Netflix, hands off Witcher!… Expand
