I think, especially in contrast to Season 1, S2 is amazing and delightful. The haters miss that The Witcher world and mythos made the story special, not the reverse. The show perfectly protects and projects the gnarled gritty heart of why we love The Witcher, while remaining true to the overall arc. The true crime committed and shame is the haters unable to understand these cosmetic plot changes augment the authentic archetypal beauty behind the series. The arc of the narrative and it's form (short stories, novels, POVs) is disjointed in the books, and as we saw in season one that doesn't translate well to the screen. The superficial plot changes serve to incorporate the world in a way that serves the arc- or at worst is entertaining without hurting it. Sadly, haters miss out on this in order to nitpick. Also, let me say I've read the books more than a few times, to establish my cred to criticize the critics here. Expand

Season 2 is **** excellent. Don't listen to the negative reviews. Their arguments are all about how it's "different from the books" and nothing else. Yes, it's different, but it's amazingly good.

Great show!! Don't listen to the haters. Sure it doesn't follow the books exactly, but the show is fun none the less.

I love the first season, so I do the second. I smell bigger budget here (CGI, Effects, Costumes). I like that each espisode beside main story, has it's own side story. I like it a lot. Henry Cavil is the true Witcher ;)

Don't listen to the review bombers. Half of them are trolls who can't focus on deep story telling, and the other half are book purists who can't stand a single change from the source material. This show is excellent and I hope it gets many other seasons.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I know there is a lot of wokeness on the show casting selection, but to my surprise, was a lot better than the first, with only a main character (well two that might anger hardcore readers, in a way, I understand it, Yennefer for example, I will never understand, why they try to make her out of character likeable, when the Lannister proves, that you can be a bastard and beloved, and Eskel there's a lot of fun with him in both games and books and Now is gone forever, for some woke nobody Witcher who might replace him) from the original books and games been sacrifice.

I happy to report that the season just scratch the surface and might give more seasons come and yet give some bone to eat to the normies. The change from the script I liked more, at least the woke Characters are doing a lot more than the original characters on the first season, in general an excellent season to be honest with a good story been told from it, Henry kept his word... I do recommend though, that read the damn books and played the games, those media deserves to turn you into a show hater...

Miles better than season 1 writing and direction wise with a brilliant Yennefer standing out from an already great cast that has finally found its footing in this rich lore adaptation. Yes, it's different than the books but it is still a great story. Acting was ok.
I would give this season a 8, but to offset those morons with there zeros I'll give it a ten.

Overall, the 2nd season of "The Witcher" takes a very good step forward. The narrative structure is now clearer (although the first season also had a charm with it). The story was more understandable, the characters were real, and fighting scenes with monsters were on a whole other level. back then when they released the first season, I really enjoyed the music and I'm happy to see that they were able to do the same with this season.
also loved Dijkstra's and Lambert's actors and I was ok with VesEmir too. can't wait for next season

Just finished the books. The changes are initially weird but unwind themselves. The idea that they’re making The Witcher “woke” is hilarious. По началу не нравился каст йенифер и трисс, но по итогу глаза ко всему привыкают, и могу сказать что смотреть дальше не противно.

I've read the books, and I've just finished up Season 2, and I have to say I'm really impressed with both. Both are works of art in their own right. It is true that the show deviates from the books in a few areas, but I think that is the point of art. If you don't interpret and make it something new, nothing is gained. I thought the show was spectacularly acted, the plot was really engaging in new ways, and its inspired me to go back to the books because the world, the lore, and the characters are so interesting.

At the end of the day, the show is fantastic. I hope it inspires a new generation of readers to pick up Sapkowski's books, and CD Projekt Red's games. It's quite an amazing universe they've built, and I can't wait to see what they've got lined up next.

Watching the foundation get laid isn’t always exciting, but it does feel like showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich is building toward rousing sequences and cares about each of the characters equally. Whether you feel the same doesn’t really matter. “The Witcher” is in it for the long haul, and even if Season 2 feels longer than it should, you won’t regret the ride.

“The Witcher” constantly struggles to balance its dialogue-driven scenes with pushing the plot forward. It can be an exhausting show in terms of pace—every single episode feels longer than it actually is.
