They have clearly run out of ideas, out politics first, have backwards character development

Season 1 and 2 we're fantastic. Then Netflix does the typical Netflix move and makes the show more about showing how woke they are than focusing on a good storyline.

They could have left out Ellen page transitioning out of the show but the show brings it up constantly. Feels like a politics show. Waited a year for this. Shame. She could still play vanya with it

A main character rapes another, for the sole purpose of showing how 'edgy' that character has become. Absolute trash.

Ugh, this season was crap. Enough said. The first season were so good I don’t get how they messed up the story so badly. Sad to see it crash like this.

Worst season ever seen just demolished whole serie, don't know what's the point of making so many changes in all the characters even changing their voice from one chapter to another lol, big crap.

    Congratulations!

Pretty disappointing season. Had huge hopes that this would finish off on a good note but its a mess of a season. At times I was thinking what is the families goal here. And just when we are coming up to the final episode we get two filler episodes randomly, drawing out this series in a very peculiar way.

Season one and two were excellent but this is awful. There were moments I thought were very good but overall the season comes across as low budget and was filmed during the height of a pandemic. There is about fifteen different characters in the ten or so episode season. Maybe a maximum of seven or so people in a scene (including extras).

I'll give this a FOUR and that's a fair score.

This one was painful to watch. After two gold standard seasons the drop in quality and writing has impacted the show. Here is my pro and con list of this season:

    Pro:

    Cons:
    - CGI. Whilst there are great VFX throughout this season, the bad outweighed the good.
    - Poor plot coherence and worse group dialogue between multiple characters.
    - Terrible performances from sparrow academy cast.
    - Allison's character arc.
    - Diego character arc.
    - Continuity oversights.

There are more and I absolutely can elaborate, but I will post a more in-depth review when I've finished writing it.

This season is completely crazy, the characters are becoming more and more of a joke, random transgenderism propaganda thrown in for the hell of it is the icing on the cake of this failure. Utter cringe.

This is horrible. It's like this season was directed by someone who directed filler arcs in a bad anime. So many fillers, all the actual story might fit into a single episode. Old characters became boring, dialogues are bad, new characters are all annoying. All the wits, mystery, charisma - it all just gone. This is one of the biggest downfalls for tv shows I've watched.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Oof, this season is cringy. And incredibly misleading. The trailer made you think it was going to be a battle against the Sparrow Academy. NOPE. Just an awkward march through endless talking and getting absolutely nothing done. By the end, there are far more questions than answers. Expand

Season three however is an awkward joyless uneven ride pushed by stiff performances and exhausting arcs. It's very disappointing seeing how much it has regressed in quality from the cgi, performances & writing . It does little to make you care about the characters problems or even revere the great qorld ending threat it poses .

The third season of Umbrella Academy was amazing. However, Allison's character arc was awful, Emmy Raver-Lampman's acting was subpar for the type of "badass I don't care about anything" actress she tried to be.

An absolute joy to watch from start to finish. The dynamics, the settings, the camerawork, what an awesome production this season was, opening more doors for future narratives and character build-ups, solving casting troubles in a respectful and credible way. What a beautiful ride this season was, it flushed my Obi-Wan disappointed entirely away. This is how you make art with television.

I liked this season of the umbrella academy (outside of Allison) and I do think its building itself to a great 4th and final season. I enjoyed the plot of this season but I do feel that a) the sparrow academy were wasted and b) Allison's character turn was a bit grating. There's still lots to like about the show but I will be glad if it ends sooner rather than later. Although it is true that the new adventure of the Hargreeves brothers is not as good as the previous one, the new season of The Umbrella Academy is spectacular on any side of the umbrella

The Umbrella Academy never met a time traveling wrinkle it didn’t like, and for season three, there’s a lot of fallout to sort through. But with strong characters both old and new, there’s plenty of reason to see it through.
