Summary: 1. Sonny and Cher open the show with a medley of "The Beat Goes On" and "It Don't Come Easy", followed by a monologue featuring banter from their nightclub act.
2. As the Bonos sing "Close To You," security guards keep Sonny away from Cher, who is wearing the 750-carat Star of Queensland, believed to be the world's largest black1.
