    Where is all the excessive hate coming from? There are far worse new shows that have a gotten much better reception (hello, Irregulars). I get it, we all hate Joss Whedon now. But, this show isn't horrible and there is a lot of cool potential here. And, the pilot alone had some amazing acting that is worth exploring further. Or is it the powerful women themes that are offending people?Where is all the excessive hate coming from? There are far worse new shows that have a gotten much better reception (hello, Irregulars). I get it, we all hate Joss Whedon now. But, this show isn't horrible and there is a lot of cool potential here. And, the pilot alone had some amazing acting that is worth exploring further. Or is it the powerful women themes that are offending people? I don't know why this is inspiring so much knee jerk vitriol, but, personally, I am looking forward to seeing how things develop before I make any definitive judgments.… Expand

    I liked it a lot. It had a high quality feel to it and I just dig Victorian age anything. If I had to compare it to something recent it reminded me of The Irregulars. Even though this is actually entertaining and interesting.
    I know it's by Wedon and he can do no good these days, but give it a shot. You might like it.

    Although apprehensive at first, it kept me interested enough to finish the episode. It carries a similar theme as the "irregulars" and seemingly a current trend focus from our British friends. The shows main focal point is on the "touched" people, which has yet to be fully explained as to how they came about. The episode left me a tad confused as to what the shows end goal actually isAlthough apprehensive at first, it kept me interested enough to finish the episode. That said, there is some inclination given as to how the "touched" came to be but it's extremely vague. At this point, I'm of the opinion that it's a wait and see kind of show.… Expand

    I liked it. It was the kinda of gonzo period scifi victorian fantasy I didn't know I needed. Joss looms heavily over the entire production (particularly dug the girl fight). I wonder how they'll push through without his particular vision. Imagine being an actor/actress signing up for a Joss Whedon TV project, only to have the absolute poopstorm hit him and then he's audi. What a letI liked it.     Starts and ends with a bang! The action sequences are thoroughly thought out, and executed to the letter. It displays an expensive scenery and cinematography; the cast were also brilliant. Sometimes the plot and characterization may become convoluted, but they always find a way of bringing resolution.
    Definitely awaiting the second part to the first season coming in 2022!

    That the many characters and interwoven stories didn’t become confusing was a triumph, and the moments where touched “turns” were displayed were subtle enough not to distract from the main narrative. Skilful, too, were the understated social messages that still ring as true today as they did in the Victorian era – women with unchecked power are a threat to the status quo and abnormality is to be feared.

    If you can keep track of who’s who and what’s what amid the confusion and the corsets, there’s a lot of fun in the adventures of these extraordinary women.

    The enthusiasm comes at the expense of developing any of the characters beyond their immediate impact. The dynamic between the two leads is promising. Despite their advantages, they must still put up with being young women in a male-dominated world. But the relationship is hardly given space to breathe amid all the plotting and exposition.
