Beyond trite monologues about oppression and belonging, it remains unclear how each of the Touched relate to their powers, or their place in the world more broadly. ... The Nevers heaps layer upon layer of unnecessary plot atop its tidy premise. ... The Nevers’ dizzying character roster does its performers a disservice as well.

The Nevers is a huge mess, which has both far too much going on yet is also crushingly stupefying.

Disappointing and badly written with some really odd casting - never say never, unless it's about watching The Nevers - 1 star

There is some confusion as to why we justifiable individuals dislike this show; it's because it's bad.

There are far worse new shows that have a gotten much better reception (hello, Irregulars). I get it, we all hate Joss Whedon now. But, this show isn't horrible and there is a lot of cool potential here. And, the pilot alone had some amazing acting that is worth exploring further. Or is it the powerful women themes that are offending people? I don't know why this is inspiring so much knee jerk vitriol, but, personally, I am looking forward to seeing how things develop before I make any definitive judgments. Full Review »
