The Mandalorian Season 2 is probably better than Season 1 in terms of quality and engagement meaning it's overall a great season and an excellent follow-up to the first. Din remains an excellent character with how he has to deal with plenty of danger yet still tackles through it all like a badass while continuously showing vulnerability and emotion. The rest of the characters, new and returning, are excellent in their roles given the amount of screen time they have and one returning character even comes back to remind us what it's like to be human and what we can do to redeem themselves. The fight scenes are admittedly lackluster with how stiff everybody moves, but its kind've to be expected given how Disney doesn't really like violence all that much and I suppose given with what they had to work with, at least it's not bad. But without a doubt the best thing about this Season isn't the story, characters, or the worlds, it's the entire journey with Din and Grogu (the baby Yoda). You see them learn to bond with one another slowly but surely that when Luke Skywalker comes to pick up the baby Yoda, this was two seasons worth of build up and it feels earned and satisfying. Overall, this season was a great one that was extremely enjoyable from top to bottom but given how Season 3 is apparently not that great from what I've heard, I can only hope I can sense SOME effort put into the next one. Insanely juvenile and lazy writing with zero stakes or compelling conflict.

Take the first season of The Mandalorian, remove those (few) flaws it had, for example the self-contained episodes for themselves. And you will have obtained the beautiful second season.

Mando loses all agency in this season, most of the time is spent doing contrived side-quests and blindly following the ideas of a bunch of female (of course) mandalorians that call all the shots (funnt how they even lost the male mandalorian extra without explanation). While it was fun to see Luke Skywalker being himself again it was too little, too late. Won't be back for S3. Expand

Para algunos, el primer episodio podría haber sido insípido, pero puedo decir que el futuro de este programa será genial, el CGI está en el punto, el aspecto mandaloreano es increíble. Definitivamente recomiendo esta serie.

Pure Star wars fun. Going back to the samurai and spaghetti western movies that inspired the first trilogy but with the expanded lore of the clone wars. Made me fall in love with star wars once again. The S02 episode "The Jedi" is such a gem that I could not even believe my eyes. Sure the best star wars spin off ever made to date.

The 2nd season of the Mandalorian was just exceptional, still one of my top 10 favorite shows of all time and definitely out performed the near perfect first season. The writing was just so stupendous. The character development was terrific especially with Mando and Cara. The visual effects are just astounding. The puppeteering of Grogu is outstanding, he just appears so alive. The acting was phenomenal especially from Pedro Pascal, Rosario Dawson, Giancarlo Esposito, Gina Carano, Bill Burr, Timothy Olpphant, Ming-Na Wen, Amy Sedaris, Katee Sackhoff, Temuera Morrison, Michael Biehn, Horatio Sanz, and Diana Lee Inosanto. The costumes are spectacular especially ones wore by Pedro Pascal, Misty Rosas, Rosario Dawson, Temuera Morrison, Gina Carano, Ming-Na Wen, Amy Sedaris, Katee Sackhoff, Timothy Olpphant, and Giancarlo Esposito. The makeup and hairstyling is remarkable especially on Rosario Dawson, Horatio Sanz, Amy Sedaris, Temuera Morrison, Ming-Na Wen, Katee Sackhoff, Giancarlo Esposito, Diana Lee Inosanto, Pedro Pascal, and Mercedes Varnado. The music is superb. The set designs are magnificent. The fight choreography and stunt work is awesome. The live-action debuts of Ahsoka and Bo-Katan were excellent and the return of Boba and Fennec was so cool. This was an A+ 2nd season, it was just perfect to me and cannot wait to see where they go from here. Expand

Cheesy, bad physics, injuries don’t make any sense, story is boring, combat is terrible. There are watchable parts and the end of the season is alright but this show is massively overrated

I'm really starting to go off The Mandalorian, maybe it's because I'm not a massive Star Wars fan from the get-go but it all feels so samey. However, this lack of innovation just makes the show feel so lacklustre. The stakes don't feel high, the story is hardly complex etc. I often think it's quite hard to make a truly bad action film/show but it is very easy to make a mediocre/average show. The Mandalorian definitely falls into this latter category. It's the same old Star Wars if you like the films (particularly the originals) I'll guess you'll like this; if you're looking for something new or refreshing (for example how another Disney property in WandaVision is shaping up to be) then this won't stratch that itch. The storyline and dialogs are very weak. It is a shame that nobody cares and cool CGI and cute Yoda are enough to keep most audience engaged

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I've been a huge Star Wars fan my whole life. I grew up watching the films, playing the games, and when I was 12, I read the Expanded Universe books (now called Legacy I think) and loved every word. Then I grew up. I realized that as much as I loved the books there was just no getting around the fact that many of them were very poorly written with about as much depth or believability to them as a modern day politician. Unfortunately even though I grew up, Star Wars hasn't, Star Wars is perpetually stuck being 12 years old. I really want to enjoy the Mandalorian. In a lot of ways I do, but there's just no getting around the fact that the story and plots are a mud puddle about an inch deep. Spoilers ahead. My summary of the Mandalorian both this season and last season is simply this. Good guys win, bad guys lose. Empire evil, Mandalorian and Co. good. There's no depth at all. Not a single good guy dies this season. Every single episode you can predict perfectly. The good guys need to do something that involves some Imperial facility, each of these facilities are heavily defended, and things look grim but somehow they'll figure out a way to prevail. 45 minutes later after slaughtering half the Imperial army without even getting their makeup dirty, you're left wondering how the Empire was ever feared at all considering how incompetent they are depicted in every single episode. Furthermore the show expounds on this shallow mud puddle by having even more shallow characters, and shallow villians. We get it, Rebels good, Empire bad. Yes we know. But now that we've established that let's consider that there can be Imperials that we relate to, or that have compelling stories. The good guys can have faults. Make the story interesting. Theres nothing more boring than rewatching each episode week in and week out. Each new episode is exactly the same as the last one.. There's no depth here, and simply put I'm not 12 anymore. This show desperately needs to let the bad guys win some. It needs the Empire depicted as a worthy foe. It needs struggle. Without struggle what's the point of victory? I give this show a 3 for production values, but until Star Wars grows up and stops using the same tropes over and over again, adds some depth and beliveability to its heroes and villians it will perpetually be regarded as nothing but a child's show. However it does not override all the issues, especially the metric tonne of plot holes and broken canon. As a writer, when you have to answer "because the plot needs it to" when asked "why did that happen?", you need to take a step back and let someone else have a round with the keyboard. Expand

This is so enjoyable from beginning till end. The episodic format feels like a classic tv-show, rounding up its own little adventure. But once again it slowly lays the foundations for a grand finale. The more pronounced fan-service is something I really enjoyed.

OK, Season 2 is even better than the first season:

More worlds, more aliens, more interesting stories, good characters, amazing specials effects (to highlight the scenary, this serie has cut down costs in production the spotlights)and make up, good perfomances and a great final in this season.

They blown my mind away with awesomeness and there is not a single weak episode. The final episode is some of the best Star Wars experience I had in many years. The strength of this season are again deep interesting characters you are invested in, fan service, excellent use of lore and worldbuilding atop on creating / building emotions. Season 1 was already pretty good and I had doubts that they can pull of another season this great. But I was wrong as they delivered episode after episode until the epic climax. They use old and new characters to full potential. It is sad that I cant spoil more but it is simply amazing what they build here. Near the end they announced 10 new Star Wars shows / series and The Mandalorian laid an excellent foundation. I would not rate a single episode lower than a 9/10. There is so much heart, soul and care in this. It uses again the “Show not tell” approach and has some of the best elements from Western, Samurai movies and Science Fiction. Remember that the main actor Pedro Pascal wears a helmet. His body language works that well that you don't miss a thing. Baby Yoda is still so cute but also a scoundrel ;-). There are many returning characters that I wont spoil. The new ones are as amazing or even more as the already great cast. I like how they create so much emotion, attachment and depth. Just 1 returning character gets so much development in just a single episode that I wanted a show for him or at least a continuation of his arc. Then there is the final episode which I already praised. I had again doubts that they can give us a satisfying conclusion while having high hopes. Again they deliver and surpassed my expectations as they already did before. Remark: There is another badass post-credits scene that will put a smile on your face. They exactly know how to do it. A single name here, fan service there, garnering with revelations and additions of familiar faces. I am hyped for season 3. Overall I will give standing ovations and my full respect for this show. They saved Star Wars and re-earned the respect of fans while creating new ones. I recommend all episodes. Expand

This first episode in the second season is a great example of how the series can work across scale—it can be intimate when it's two characters exchanging information in a vast open landscape, and it can also be massive with action scenes worthy of IMAX.
