Can’t believe we have to watch a cartoon to know who these people are I knew they’d ruin this after the first season with taking off the helmet and bringing in characters from the cartoons who btw some of us Star Wars fans don’t watch cartoons anymore not to mention boring episodes so far who knows what else cringe there is to come. The storyline and dialogs are very weak. It is a shame that nobody cares and cool CGI and cute Yoda are enough to keep most audience engaged

It`s beyond me how Season 2 of the Mandalorian has received a 7.9 score. The script is terrible, the acting is abysmall, at times I feel uncomfortable watching the actors even try. It was too much to hope S02 will improve on S01. More of the same boring thoughtless action with as little plot as they could have possible written.
It's jarring how the show can ruin every decent moment it has with a silly joke or a gag.
The characters are paper thin. Baby Yoda is a little monster that will apparently eat anything including the eggs of an endangered species. The

The Empire is still a joke which doesn't make a lot sense. they have zero intimidation or deterrence.
It's hard to believe they pose any kind of a threat to anyone.

Mando get pummeled or shot repeatedly through out the show but it has zero affect on him. apparently beskar is the most awesome armor in the universe and the empire has beskar so why noone else makes armor from it is strange.

The custom design in this show is unimaginative. they spent no time thinking how things should function. not everything needs to makes complete sense but they keep trying to "explain" things in very silly ways.

Another thing that bugged me is how they use X-wings as the police cruiser of the SW universe and pilots are space cops.

On the plus side, it looks great.

The same lazy cartoonish economical copy and pasting of every cowboy trope and dialogue set in space.

Like season one it was 10% watchable. 1 episode is ok , others are cheap fillers. This season started just like first one , it does intrigue and it gonna be missable afterwards

Existence of this tv show entirely depends on the fact that Stormtroopers are worse fighters than very easy bots in counter strike. Season 2 is like a one huge meme about how bad aim Stormtroopers have.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I've been a huge Star Wars fan my whole life. I grew up watching the films, playing the games, and when I was 12, I read the Expanded Universe books (now called Legacy I think) and loved every word. Then I grew up. I realized that as much as I loved the books there was just no getting around the fact that many of them were very poorly written with about as much depth or believability to them as a modern day politician. Unfortunately even though I grew up, Star Wars hasn't, Star Wars is perpetually stuck being 12 years old. I really want to enjoy the Mandalorian. In a lot of ways I do, but there's just no getting around the fact that the story and plots are a mud puddle about an inch deep. Spoilers ahead. My summary of the Mandalorian both this season and last season is simply this. Good guys win, bad guys lose. Empire evil, Mandalorian and Co. good. There's no depth at all. Not a single good guy dies this season. Every single episode you can predict perfectly. The good guys need to do something that involves some Imperial facility, each of these facilities are heavily defended, and things look grim but somehow they'll figure out a way to prevail. 45 minutes later after slaughtering half the Imperial army without even getting their makeup dirty, you're left wondering how the Empire was ever feared at all considering how incompetent they are depicted in every single episode. Furthermore the show expounds on this shallow mud puddle by having even more shallow characters, and shallow villians. We get it, Rebels good, Empire bad. Yes we know. But now that we've established that let's consider that there can be Imperials that we relate to, or that have compelling stories. The good guys can have faults. Make the story interesting. Theres nothing more boring than rewatching each episode week in and week out. Each new episode is exactly the same as the last one.. There's no depth here, and simply put I'm not 12 anymore. This show desperately needs to let the bad guys win some. It needs the Empire depicted as a worthy foe. It needs struggle. Without struggle what's the point of victory? I give this show a 3 for production values, but until Star Wars grows up and stops using the same tropes over and over again, adds some depth and beliveability to its heroes and villians it will perpetually be regarded as nothing but a child's show. Far from resting on its laurels, though, if the balance of Season 2 can match the promise of this first episode, it's still easy to have a good feeling about this.

This first episode in the second season is a great example of how the series can work across scale—it can be intimate when it's two characters exchanging information in a vast open landscape, and it can also be massive with action scenes worthy of IMAX.
