Nov 13, 2019Better than any of the new movies they’ve put out the past few years! Plus I’m a huge fan of Pascal.
-
Nov 13, 2019generic, pointless tripe
Seriously, this is the best Disney could come up with after the infinite hype????????????????
LOL -
Nov 13, 2019One episode and I am sold! Good acting and great special effects. Pedro Pescal is awesome.
-
Nov 13, 2019Very well made. Beautifully shot, great cinematography but the storyline is severely lacking. All bliss no substance.
-
Nov 13, 2019Felt like a Sci Fi channel special. The scene where he tries to learn the mount, the random "yoda" type character, and combined with the short run time were all reasons to be concerned. Hopefully they go more in-depth with future episodes, perhaps 60 minute - 90 minutes would help them to explain their story in more detail and make sense of what story they are trying to tell.
-
Nov 13, 2019I don't see how this show can possibly work centered around a lead with no personality whatsoever.
Mandalorians were given an interesting backstory in the canon, but they are largely devoid of emotion. That's not a great foundation to anchor an entire series let alone one episode. Even with more character development and background it is really hard to see how this can work. -
Nov 13, 2019It's hella dope, great action and great ending (ep 1) - a must for any Star Wars fan.
-
Nov 13, 2019Nice photography, production value is visible. Entertaining and fun... keeps you hanging.
However it is too aggressive in content for newcomers to Star Wars Universe (no issue for me though).
Definitely will keep on watching. -
Nov 13, 2019Мені сподобалось! Я не є фанатом старих добрих Зоряних Воєн, але ця серія зайшла.
-
Nov 13, 2019Well done. Met my expectations, and I'm looking forward to more. Good mix of practical and cg fx. The environments feel gritty and bleak so far, which is great. The important characters are very well done, and I dig the representation of familiar species from the Star Wars film universe.

Nov 13, 2019This feels like a Series created by a marketing team, not by actual writers and directors.
They clearly put a lot of fancy Names in there to keep Fans happy, and i am pretty sure this will work out fine. But this series does not habe any Identity. -

Nov 13, 2019A very bad start, a mediocre first episode. I know this series it was made to manipulate blind people to subscribe to Disney+, but really that mediocre? It seems to have been done by Tnt

Nov 13, 2019Good start. Looks great. Fast-paced. Who was Nick Nolte? Got a Gremlins vibe at the end.
-
Nov 13, 2019Really enjoyed the first episode, felt like an old western! Still too early to tell if the plot will be good but fingers crossed.
-
Nov 13, 2019And this rubbish is what everyone was getting excited about? They may as well have arranged that Chuck Norris played The Mandalorian. Yeah...thanks Disney but no. Disney have cobbled all this generic rubbish together when they shouldn't have even bothered.

Nov 13, 2019Disney needs to pay Sergio Leone for ripping off his westerns with this uninspired episode. It's the cliche ridden Clint Eastwood stranger but with landspeeders, aliens and carbonite-frozen criminals. For once I'd like to see Disney come up with an original idea instead of this safe, mediocre garbage.
-
Nov 13, 2019Great TV. A return to form and sanity for the Disney Company, after giving in to radical political race and sex baiting. Its a smooth running, great looking, Space Western that gives great fan service, introduces fun characters and makes sense. The Bounty Droid is a better actor than Daisy Ridley.
-
Nov 12, 2019So far so good! The pacing is refreshing. The plot and character development, while not extravagant, is laying groundwork to build upon. As it should. The character design and effects are top notch. The sound effects and score is solid and effective.

Nov 12, 2019What a great opening of a series, like a breath of fresh air. My Third favorite Star Wars movie was Rouge One, as it was, at least for me, more true to what Star Wars is than any of the prequels were or as of that time (and since) sequels have been. This first ep had a Rouge One vibe, and I was diggin it. I gotta good feeling about this.

Nov 12, 2019its fun and interesting, cant wait for the next episode. but the main issue i have with the first episode is actually the main character, he is literally a different guy after meeting the droid, his personality just turn upside down from a silent type person to a very talkactive person.
-
Nov 12, 2019The first episode is really great I can't wait for the next episode. Great VFX, music, and casting.

Nov 12, 2019Hey Y'all. It's a Star Wars show. Its fun, fast paced, action packed, mysterious, and a little funny. It's capturing the glorious pulp serial magic that Star Wars was originally based on, but with the high budget treatment. Love it. Nostalgic elements for the mega fans without being cheeky or naval gazing.

Nov 12, 2019DISNEY SUCKS!!!!!
lame show... I guess they knew Boba Fett was already ruined as a character so they just invented a pointless new guy to wear his armor... the effects are crap and have neither the charm of the originals nor the flash of a big budget modern movie... Pascal can't act and is given nothing to work with anyway
DID I MENTION DISNEY SUCKS?! -

Nov 12, 2019Not sure why I even bothered, everything Disney has done with Star Wars has been a disappointment and this is no exception. Favreau is a journeyman director who brings nothing fresh to the table, and the plot is the same warmed-over "edgy hero who isn't actually edgy in fact he's a huge softie" that everyone saw coming from a mile away. Learn from my mistake and skip it
-
Nov 12, 2019This is what Star Wars is meant to be! A space opera / western all the way and that's not a bad thing!
-
Nov 12, 2019Crappy generic story, borrows heavily from genre cliches just like everything else Disney does. Pascal is completely forgettable and the FX are painfully TV-grade. If this is what the execs are counting on to carry the banner once the movies end, they are in for a world of hurt
-
Nov 12, 2019A good start to the season so far. I really enjoy the western feel to it along with learning a little more about Mandolorian tribes.
Works well with its 30 minute run-time and the "made-for-TV" feeling helps cement this as the continuation of Western TV shows from the 50's, 60's, and 70's. Looking forward to the rest of the season. -
Nov 12, 2019This was thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish. Even if you're not a diehard SW fan. My only gripe was it only lasted 39 minutes and I have to wait another week.
Other than this there's not much for me on D+. I'm just keeping it for the kids so they can watch their Frozen and Moana and Tangled. -
Nov 12, 2019Cons -
- Cheesy dialogue
- Generic personas
- Predictable
- Ridiculous action scenes
- Literally feels like every big budget hollywood project
Pros +
+ Visually impressive
+ Sets up interesting possibilities

Nov 12, 2019Really well done. The show has a good feel about it and the story is intriguing. Looking forward to seeing where it goes.
-
Nov 12, 2019Great EP 1. That's real Star Wars. Its far better than new trilogy. The Mandalorian is like Witcher but in Star Wars world. I hope that next episodes will be also great.
-
Nov 12, 2019What an awesome start to the first live-action Star Wars TV series that delivers on action, mystery and a Star Wars universe-changing surprise in the end that no one saw coming.
-
Nov 12, 2019It’s a Star Wars Samurai Jack. Loved the direction it’s heading and the character.
-
Nov 12, 2019This was well worth the $6.99 a month Netflix should be sweating. I love the darkness, but yet dry humor that this show brings. So far the first episode has me wanting more. The ending is definitely setting up things to come.
-
Nov 12, 2019It's like a spaghetti western set in the Star Wars universe. I know you're probably thinking, 'You mean it's a Firefly rip off?' Similar in concept, completely different in execution.
-
Nov 12, 2019This is what I've been waiting for. Star Wars as it should be. Can't wait to see what happens next!
-
Nov 12, 2019Refreshing take on Star Wars. Maintaining the atmosphere of old trilogy while at the same time bravely treading into the new territory. I love the pilot and want more. Now.
-
Nov 12, 2019So far, the tone they have set is excellent. You can really see the influences of Rogue One all throughout. As with most stories, they have to grab your attention right away if they want you to see it through. They have mine.
-
Nov 12, 2019Well it is just OK. It is a kind of a "safe" show and it is too short. You can not get invested in a live-action show in only 35 minutes
-
Nov 12, 2019BRILLIANT!!!! put Filoni and Favreau in charge of the star wars franchise for everything, they clearly understand star wars better than jj rj or evil kk ever could. perfect amount of old star wars stuff mixed with new. this i what filmakers need to learn should be roughly 70/30 old to new then slowly introduce new stuff...cant wait for episode 2 ...filoni favreau love you guys
-
Nov 12, 2019Completamente fantástica, captura toda la esencia de Star Wars. Una muy digna serie a la altura de lo que se merece Star Wars.
-
Nov 12, 2019the series that was brought to life by Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni is a master-class in Star Wars storytelling and Cinematography. The stylistic choices they employ in this show are not just there to pay homage, they are used because of their efficacy and to continue the tradition.
-
Nov 12, 2019Really well done. Feels like starwars. The score is a little underwhelming but overall I can’t wait to see what happens next.
-
Nov 12, 2019Got up at 6am to watch the first episode with other diehard SW fans. We thoroughly enjoyed it and laughed at all the right beats. The world building aspects is what impressed us the most. Obviously there were some pretty generic first episode scenes, but we absolutely are impatiently waiting for the next episode.
-
Nov 12, 2019This should be called, Texas Ranger, Space edition. It is riddled with stupid cowboy tropes and sad cameos of Carl Weathers and Werner Herzog here apparently for a pay check.
Isn't it ironic how Disney wants to revive a Star Wars franchise that is, basically, a story of scattered resistance against a monopolistic empire.

Where most of the films tie themselves in knots keeping up with the family travails of Skywalkers and Palpatines, The Mandalorian operates in relative solitude. ... Favreau keeps things just the right side of schmaltzy, while also creating a more textured universe than we are used to.
-
Amid the fan service, there is plot too. .. A series that has started in relatively low key fashion but seems certain to leave everyone, and not just Star Wars ultra-diehards, wanting more.
-
Its issues hew toward the fundamentals of direction, performance, and dialogue, more problems of basic filmmaking skill than miscalculated vision. Favreau started from a more specific, vivid place than in his jobs for Marvel or on Disney’s wretched Lion King remake. Unlike his nomadic antihero, however, he doesn’t take it much of anywhere.
