-
Sep 3, 2022THis wasn't good. It was bady made and badly acted and I didn't enjoy wathing it.
-
Sep 3, 2022Poor casting choices. Could be a good tv series, but followed on the imposed standards. Also creators are racists - I didnt find any asian character

Sep 3, 2022Dumb, boring for long stretches, most characters are unlikeable and the dialog is cringe worthy. Was hoping for so much more.
-
Sep 3, 2022The episodes are so lame. So not tolkiens work. Amazon did a bad job. No season 2.
-

-
Sep 3, 2022Better than could've been expected. Gorgeous and well written overall. It feels mostly fully formed already and should really continue to gel.
-
Sep 3, 2022On this series just names are related with Profesor Tolkien nothing else. This is so bad
-

-
Sep 2, 2022Beware! Dangerously high levels of wokeness! They should put that as warning label. Otherwise it does feel like generic fantasy with LoTR named slapped on it.
-

-
Sep 3, 2022This is a total disrespect for the beautiful universe that has been created for many years. A spit in the face to the fans. A classic attempt to make money from the studio that filmed this.
-
Sep 3, 2022This is not a good series, seriously. This is the second time i try to write a review, and I´ll summarise what i wrote before: great ost, great photography, poor script and worse rhythm.
-
Sep 3, 2022
-
Sep 3, 2022Mediocre generic fantasy with awful writing that use Tolkien's name to lure the unwary. A billion dollars? I can't imagine where all that money went.
-
Sep 3, 2022If my eyes could puke they would, I couldn't even get through the first episode it was so bad. I feel like my childhood has been attacked and brutally murdered by this SJW crap.
-
Sep 3, 2022I find the show quite dull and boring, very hard to feel invested in the characters as a lot of the acting seems very wooden. The story doesn't flow, it seems disjointed and the pacing also seems off, very difficult to remain engaged.
-
Sep 3, 2022The casting was weird (high king looks like the high accountant), the story was all over the place, I still don't know what's going on, etc etc. looks fine but doesn't have any substance, and visuals can only carry so much. maybe it'll get better for now it's bad and stop changing the stories and pushing agendas on people this is a fantasy world.
-
Sep 3, 2022This is infuriatingly bad. It is an utter insult to Tolkien, his works, his beliefs, morals and his fans! Political virtue signalling creating this disgrace! This treats Tolkiens works especially the Silmarillion with utter contempt as these hacks try to 'improve' one of if not the greatest linguist and fantasy writer in history! It's outrageous!
-
-

-
Sep 3, 2022This was a disappointment. You'd think with all the money they spent they'd have better performances to go with the cgi? And the writing is awful. Thery did Tolkien a disservice making this. That is all.
-
Sep 3, 2022Not commenting on whether it's woke or why they used black actors in a European fantasy counterpart, but I just foubnd this show to be shallow and boring. I've read the appendix and imo Amazon are doing a poor job adapting it. It's a shame.

-
Sep 3, 2022I didn't like it. The acting and writing were sub standard. Several characters were unlikeable.
-
Sep 3, 2022Really enjoyed it. Gorgeous visuals, courage to slow burn and build gradually. Clever adaptation. Lavish design. Wanting MORE!!!
-
Sep 3, 2022
-
Sep 3, 2022Stupid and empty dialogues, ridiculous costumes (artificial wear, raggedness) as well as hairstyles, all this looks like in the Witcher from Netflix, unnatural. The casting is just awful, just the freak show. Well, as always in our time, an obvious agenda, a strong and intelligent woman GG, stupid and cowardly men.
-
Sep 3, 20225.5/10 as a fantasy series, 0/10 as a LotR series. Since they decided to use the LotR name but betray that name, it gets a big fat 0.
Also, Galadriel deserves a better actor. She shouldn't be killing trolls in one hit. And the Harfoot are ridiculous and boring. -

-
Sep 3, 2022Poor, very poor, to the point of being unwatchable. Graphics good in places - not unexpected given the money thrown at it but the wooden script, terrible acting (especially some of those corny accents), insipid pacing and deviation from original Works makes this a howler.
-
Sep 3, 2022This show is amazing. Everything is top-notch!
-
Sep 3, 2022An unfortunate film, where Tolkien's originality is not respected. She expected a minimum of respect for her characters, even the map of Middle Earth is wrong, there is no Belerian, an empowered Galadriel, when she did not need a sword to fight, the power of magic and her mind were enough. Corrupted characters abuse inclusion. A failure
-
Sep 3, 2022It's very boring show. Characters are not interesting, only the dwarves from Khazad dum keep the production level. Dialogues and story? So dumb. Oh and main character, go Galadriel! She is terrible
-
Sep 3, 2022This is happening when somebody who is not a Tolien fun creates something like that. Its pure evil to destroy such a masterpiece with woke culture. Even the actings is so bad and fight scenes. One thing that is good here are only the places. They look good.

Sep 3, 2022This is NOT a Lord of the Rings, this is NOT a Tolkien - this is NOT of anything good at all.
-
Sep 3, 2022THANK YOU AMAZON! I didn't realize how much I really missed watching the shenanigans of Middle Earth until last night! I LOVED IT and the visuals were absolutely stunning! Gimli was right; seeing Khazad Dum in all its glory was amazing and the scenery at the entrance to Valinor was breathtaking! I'm excited to see more and I'm definitely here for all five seasons!

Sep 3, 2022Amazon is censoring IMDb and all the reviews under 6* are vanished. This has nothing to do with fighting review bombing — it’s corporate greed censoring the common folk like me to express free speech. Ugly company ran by an ugly man. Tolkien would turn in the grave to see on what hands his masterpiece got into.

-
Sep 3, 2022Dear Amazon, I do not understand how you managed to spend hundreds of millions on that "garbage" that I saw today. Good computer graphics in some scenes and with that all good things end.
-
Sep 3, 2022The "weird" cast choice disappointed me. The actors act like it's a school performance.
In addition to the beautiful computer graphics of the show, there is nothing to surprise the viewer.
Conclusion: a weak remake made from good books. -
Sep 3, 20220% book. **** this disaster. I can recommend House of the Dragon, it's absolutely different, better tv serial. Showrunners should follow the example from H&D if they want to continue their work

Sep 3, 2022This series is an insult to Tolkien's work, and for all lore fans. I'm very disappointed.
-
-
Sep 3, 2022They really thought they could twist a work as beloved as Tolkien's to push their propaganda and not get backlash. Their arrogance knows no bounds.
-

-
Sep 3, 2022My enthusiasm for this show began to die when they cast Lenny Henry, but I went into this with an open mind regardless and boy was I disappointed. I didn't even bother finish watching. How can a show that has had so much money spent on it have such poor performances, poor writing and bizarre casting decisions? This is woke, bend the knee trash.

-
Sep 3, 2022So far is mediocre. The only good thing is the production. You can see the money invested in
-
Sep 3, 2022I would like to ask the creators a question. Who did you shoot THIS for? Definitely not for Tolkin fans...or just fans of good movies....
-
Sep 3, 2022This serie will be remembered as one of the greatest scam of all time. The only consolation we can find in the contemplation of this disaster is the certitude that not everything can be bought (for now).
-
Sep 3, 2022The efforts in CGI in the very first episodes makes me want for more. I'm really eager to watch the following episodes. 100% recommended.
-
Sep 3, 2022Was it perfect? No. But these hyper negative reviews are ridiculous. It was a solid beginning that needed to set up a multi-season storyline. The visuals were amazing and the acting was solid. It was a little dense and hard to follow all the characters, but still enjoyable. I loved the books, loved the movies, and I'm sure this will be a great show too.
-
Sep 3, 2022Really lame. Bad acting, bad writing and a boring story. Tolkien deserves better.
-
Sep 3, 2022It's incredibly badass.Give it a chance.
-
Sep 3, 2022I really enjoyed the first two episodes while I was downing a few bottles of red wine. The visual scenery was a burst of vibrancy and sparked my imagination. I could imagine the smells, sounds and sensations of all the environments. From the earthy moss of the harfoot village to the autumn forest scent of that elf place where they got crowned
-
Sep 3, 2022The first two episodes are excellent! Don’t miss it!
-
Sep 3, 2022
-
Sep 3, 2022This TV show doesn't respect the original Tolkiens writings.
It should not be called LOTR. -
Sep 3, 20221 is good mark for this. Better than The Witcher, but it's still awful **** Of course, Amazon could have bought many reviewers, but even if they paid me, I would not rate this series well, it simply is not right.
-
Sep 3, 2022It is a visually beautiful show, it is in process and you have to give time, to see how the story unfolds. But it is completely enjoyable. It should not be considered a literal adaptation of Tolkien's work, but rather, a work inspired by it. The error was marketing to clarify too late the restrictions on use of the material.

-
Sep 3, 2022Totally non-canon story, where even according to the lore most of the characters are blond white people, but in reality you see for yourself. Why shoot for trends and ruin such a great movie?
-
Sep 3, 2022Brilliant start to the season for The Rings of Power. Lush, transcendent visuals with particularly compelling performances from Morfydd Clark (Galadriel), Ismael Cruz Córdova (Arondir) and Markella Kavenagh (Nori).
-
Sep 3, 2022Amazing show, I hope people understand how difficult is to create the world of Silmarilion and after that into TV series.
-
Sep 3, 2022
-
Sep 3, 2022Awful
This show should have never been made. Thankfully we have the books and the original films to fall back on.
Evil cannot create it can only corrupt and destroy. -

-
Sep 3, 2022If you don't care lore. It is good to watch. But I like it. I don't think that we should judge it with 2 episodes.
-
Sep 3, 2022I really hope Grandpa Tolkien doesn't see this. This is blasphemy and a mockery of my favorite series.
-
Sep 3, 2022Waste of my time il re-read the books instead All they wanted to do was virtue signals and destroy the storie to fit they're agenda
-
Sep 3, 2022
-
Sep 3, 2022This show feels like original LOTR movie trilogy but in a modern way as for 2022 should be. It has everything needed: plot as supposed, many threads, fantastic music, terrific CGI, amazing views and beautiful heros. Cant wait next episodes! Ignore all those pathetic haters and racists opinions! Very recommended must see!!!
-
Sep 3, 2022Amazing show
As a fan of Tolkien I was pleased to see something new about Middle-Earth -
Sep 3, 2022Amazing fan fiction and fine return to Middle-Earth
I read all Tolkien Books and watched Jackson’s films (by the way, I think they are no less fanfics than The Rings of Power) and I enjoyed them as much as enjoy this series -

Sep 3, 2022What an absolutely terrible, disrespectful **** show. We all knew this series was going to be awful, but this series is actually worse than i myself, and many, many others had expected. What a phenomenal piece of **** this show is. The only reason i have given it a 2 is because of the special effects, everything else, literally everything else is just **** awful.

Adar’s début drips with signifiers. ... When Adar informs Arondir in Episode 4 that he has been told many lies, some that “run so deep even the rocks and roads now believe them,” it is still a thrill. Tolkien succeeded in creating a mythic world, one that has now grown vast enough through acts of typological repetition and imitation to conquer television, too.
-
With war brewing and the forging of the rings seemingly still far off, the first half of The Rings of Power’s first season constitutes little more than stage-setting for the struggle to come. Given the lack of quests and central commanding figures, it often makes for less-than-gripping drama. However, given that there are four more seasons already planned, and potentially dozens of new characters to be introduced, the slow and throat-clearing build is possibly a good sign.
-
The Rings of Power is a reminder of what drew many of us to epic fantasy in the first place: wonder. ... This series set in an ancient realm displays one dazzling and painterly landscape after another. Power also doesn't skimp on action. [12 - 25 Sep 2022, p.10]
