A little more of pace and action in the first episode it would have been nice. Everything else was perfect.

From casting, set designs, writing, OST, etc, HBO hit it out of the park. Everyone feels like the characters they are portraying without replacing their VAs from the video games. Don’t believe the “anti-woke” mobs of incels who are upset that this show is being well received.

The Last of Us is a faithful adaptations that anyone can enjoy, even if you have no experience playing the games.

Xbox user are so desperate with "0" reviews kkkkkk... Just like the Game, this first episode was a lesson in how to make an adaptation. Even though some characters are quite different physically from the game, the actors are very talented and bring that "affliction" from the the first game.
    Awesome!

The best adaptation of a video game with no shadown of doubt. Truly a master piece.

It dragged so long! I don't recognise the two main stars as Joel and Ellie. They are completely different. They have changed so much that this is the Last of Us in name only.

You could see the money spent on this, and the acting and actors were good, the problem was that it was similar in many ways to The Walking Dead - the collapse of society, fascist government, small groups trying to survive, they mentioned slavers and raiders etc.

There was not a great deal of originality in those terms in the story, it was just well made - and it was I don't dispute

No doubt if there had been no TWD this would have been fantastic, but there has been, and that has definitely chipped away at this as a TV release.

this show is ok. It is not groundbreaking masterpiece or horrible velma level garbage, but it made me like tlou games less. It made me realize how much of a burden gameplay really is in TLOU games. It is sad because I really like story of tlou games, but now when I look back where is no need to play tlou games when show exists. This makes me really sad honestly.

Can't wait for other episodes. This was a well-done tribute to the game, with plenty of the original things that made it one of the best story games out there, with also new things to look forward to in the future. Pedro is killing it as Joel!

First of all. The Series is extremly good.
Is Bella Ramsey badly cast? Yes! And not because she doesn't look like Ellie, Sarah's actress doesn't either, but Bella's face, I'm sorry to say, kind of takes me out of any immersion. She doesn't even necessarily act badly, but it bothers me. But that's my personal opinion. Nico Parker shows for me there

Nico Parker shows for me there exactly how it should be, looks different? **** Doesn't matter. Perfect acting (raisin scene).
Bella on the other hand, I don't feel it.
But that is absolutely the only thing I have to criticize.
Because the rest is the hammer. it is very close to the narrative of the original (So far, of course, changes theringegen I share later). Joel is played great as well as tess. Marlene should be clear to all fans.
So bottom line: Does Bella bother me? Yes, Nevertheless, the series is so good that I really bock on the next episode have!

It is an adaptation, so it is not meant to be a copy paste of the game.
In term of casting, Gabriel Luna felt to me like a perfect match as Tommy when he appeared on screen. Bella and Pedro feels different, but it is clearly meant to be. Bella Ramsey was 18 y-o during the shoot, so there is this feeling that she is old as Ellie but in the second game.

This first episode is very successful in term of acting as Joel and Ellie are as indifferent to each other as they are at the beginning of the game. Looking forward to see how this indifference will turn into the father-daughter connection, the central piece of the game.
The camera viewing, sometimes purposely identical as in the game, is very well done, just as it should be and not excessive.
With all the past failure of game adaptions seen on screen, this show confirms that the involvement and direction of the original game creator is absolutely necessary in order to recreate, at least partially, the feeling experienced when playing the original game.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I love the games, both of them, I thought the last of us part 2 was great. But I did not enjoy the first episode, I was actually a little bored. Everything after Sarah's death was a bit mind numbingly boring. The best part of the show was Sarah, she did a great job, but everything else kinda just sucked.

I rather just play the game again.

Amazing cast, amazing story, so well written and a story amazingly told. Is incredible to see the videogame come to life in such amazing detail. Pedro and Bella are amazing as Joel and Ellie. Can’t wait to see the rest of the episodes!

Is it exactly perfect, how I would do it, casting the actors I would chose? No. But as far as video game adaptations go it is far and away the best there has ever been. 10/10, extremely well done.

Good stuff. Episode one was a great and subtle initiation to the series. I have not played the game, but I can see how this story pulls you in. I love the origin of the virus, it's very original compared to other "zombie" series. Looking forward to the rest of the season.

By leaning just enough on the source material but not so much as to lose sight of the mission, which is to deliver a gut-wrenchingly emotional and poignant story, The Last of Us is not just the perfect adaptation; it’s an adaptation that has the potential to transcend even the original game.
