I think the hardest thing is that it's a total retake of the game, and don't care about the race issues or the gay stuff other people are whinging about, for me it's just that Joel and Ellie are just too different as characters, Joel seems quite sedate, quiet and less bad ass.. And because of that there doesn't feel to be the building connection between the two from total distrust to eventual love.. Its like in this weird middle gray area where Joel just.. Tolerates everything she does.

In the scene where she shoots the guy.. Joel goes mad at her for shooting in the game and it led to a while where they didn't talk.. Until Joel eventually conceded that it was "him or me".. And the trust began to form..

In the series he's just totally fine with it..

Bottom line is, this isn't the game.. Its not going to be the game and if you're a huge fan of the game you either need to see past the differences, or stop watching and just go play the game instead as its quite clear now that it's more about small things per episode people who love the source material understand.. Rather than giving a faithful adaptation to the the games fans.… Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Bella Ramsay mostly carries this episode, while the environment shines as a character again. The postapocalyptic, the way it is moving by in the road-adventure scenes, is often powerfully evoking stories of what went on before. The train partly fallen on the destroyed bridge, overturned ships in the river, a truck wedged into the mouth of a tunnel. Looking for shelter and the odd coziness of staying in abandoned places. They get the mood right, the world as it is depicted rarely appears implausible.

When Ellie earns carrying the gun she took from Bill and Frank's it makes sense, a moment in her growing relationship with Joel that is, in the harsh context of this world of survivors, believable. A strong cliffhanger with the powerful presence of Henry and Sam as they are introduced. There are some weaker scenes and performances aside from the protagonists', but overall, my complaints are few. Thankful for the slow pacing that allows the character and story development room. Once more, really looking forward to the next episode.… Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Après ce 3e épisode plus que moyen (note : 4 pour moi), ce 4e nous fait un peu repartir dans le bon sens ! Bien sûr la série prend quelques libertés vu qu'elle a raté des choses dans l'épisode précédent... Mais cela n'est pas dérangeant !
Après avoir vu des survivants gentils et solitaires, cet épisode nous montre l'autre facette des survivants avec ces chasseurs, même si on en a pas vu grand chose pour le moment, on y voit tout de même Kathleen tuer une de ces connaissances de sang froid et certains de son groupe attaquer gratuitement Joel et Ellie...
Ce qui fait un bon contraste avec l'épisode précédent. Je trouve tout de même que cet épisode aurait pu être mieux, on aurait pu en apprendre plus sur ce groupe, mais malheureusement cet épisode est très court ! 45min... c'est le plus court épisode alors qu'on a eu le 1er épisode à 1h30, 3e à 1h20 et le 2nd à 55min...
Je trouve qu'ils auraient pu plus l'étoffer, et plus montrer ces chasseurs qui chassent, voir même plus d'affrontement avec Joel et Ellie !

Malgré ces défauts, c'est un bon épisode, et on passe un bon moment devant !

J'avais noté le 1er épisode 9, le 2nd 8, et le 3e j'ai mis 4... Celui ci est indéniablement mieux que le 3e avec moins de défauts, mais n'est pas au niveau des 2 premiers épisodes ! Il mérite donc 5, 6 ou 7, pour il mérite un 6, j'ai hésité avec 7, mais il n'est pas exempt de défauts, il es trop court... Et même si à ce moment de l'histoire ne pas voir d'infectés n'est pas dérangeant, avec la cumulation de leurs absences commence à peser !

(par chance on a eu un teasing avec ce béton craquelé qui bouge d'une créature qui approche ! Peut être enfin des infectés dans le prochain épisode !)… Expand

Back to what this series should be about. Bravo. After the last episode I’m glad we got more than 15 minutes to explore the Ellie/Joel dynamic.

Not so good episode as 1-2 but definitely deserves attention. Its not good enough for recovering after 3rd episode, authority of whole series was damaged heavily.

There's something off with the pacing of this show so far. It's been pretty solid, but after a contemplative, slow episode last week, we were expecting a lift in pace. Despite some early action, the episode features a lot of talking and tends to drag. Call this 'character building', but still, on entertainment value and keeping me hooked it loses more momentum after last week's debacle. We get introduced to a new girl-boss in charge of a local resistance movement, played by the annoying girl from 2 & A Half Men. The most interesting parts are foreshadowing and a cliffhanger. If you didnt watch this weeks, better to hold off and watch it back to back with next's.

It wasn't a bad episode, it was good, just a transition episode that doesn't catch the high water mark of the first two episodes.… Expand

Overall, this was another excellent episode. Absolutely fun to watch. Of course, the usual characters are still attacking this series even though none of the stuff they hate is in this one. For NON-incel losers, however and especially fans of the game, you will see very much what is in the game, including one scene that is literally verbatim (and incidentally, it's one of my favorite in the game; the "How does he walk with that thing" scene). This episode is pure gold. There is some excitement, a bit of terror and anxiety, and nicely paced evolution of Joel and Ellie's relationship. In fact they did the latter EXTREMELY well, and frankly, it drew me in even more to both characters. Another tidbit for gamers: the voice actor who plays Tommy has a few lines (he's the grizzled guy with Kathlene). .
Overall, this is a freaking 10. Character development is among the best you're going to see in cinema. It's peak television, and you're missing out if you aren't watching this.… Expand

Really loves this episode. The relationship between Elli and Joel displayed very well. I only wish it was a brighter. Sometimes it’s hard to see when they film in darkness.

The end of the episode when Ellie finally gets Joel to laugh is probably my favorite scene in the series so far. Was great to see Joel get some action in and to see Ellie show some emotion after shooting the dude to save Joel. Pretty much the only part of the episode I did not think was good/great was the actress playing Kathleen. She sounds wooden when giving her lines and it is really distracting. Also, it sucked that the episode was only 45 minutes. Overall, great episode.… Expand

The pacing is off. I feel no connection with the show and the connection with ellie is not there. This is why movies and shows based off games is a bad idea. Game is way better. This show is a total fail.

Týždeň prešiel a máme tu znova ďalší diel Seriálu The Last Of Us, tentoraz opäť s nič nehovoriacim názvom Please Hold On My Hand. Čakal som všetko, po predošlej epizóde, ktorá vyslovene sprznila herný lore do takej miery, že sa ani nedržalaTýždeň prešiel a máme tu znova ďalší diel Seriálu The Last Of Us, tentoraz opäť s nič nehovoriacim názvom Please Hold On My Hand. Čakal som všetko, po predošlej epizóde, ktorá vyslovene sprznila herný lore do takej miery, že sa ani nedržala hernej predlohy. Ale to čo som dostal bol v podstate nejaký mišmaš niečoho, čo sa udiali z malej časti v hre ale opäť pozmenené a zakomponovali do toho aj nepodstatnú dvojku z hry, ktorá aj tak zgegne. V tomto diely ich uvidíme až na samotnom konci, kde sam sa pridal ku kmeňu Čikariou a obaja sa prekvapujúco čierny, čo ma troška zarazilo. Keďže v podstate vieme už pomalý celý casting hlavných aj vedlajších postáv, tak som od Druckmana čakal, že by kľudne nepodstatnú dvojku henryho a sama(mimochodom pár postáv, ktorý je pre mňa vyslovene odpudzujúci z hry) mohli zahrať trebárs Arnold Swarzenegger a Danny De Vito. Ale o tom potom.

Táto epizóda je naštastie tá z najkratších doposiaľ, neudeje sa v nej nič podstatného okrem pár celkom podarených vtipov založených na slovných hračkách. Počas úvodných 25 minút sa neudeje absolútne nič podstatné alebo zaujímavé, je až zarážajúce ako okato režisér naťahuje časovú minutáž nepodstatnými zábermi na celkom nepodarené CGI okolitého prostredia. Neviem čo sa stalo s autami na dialnici a na parkoviskách keď sú po takmer 30 rokoch od apokalypsy všetky pokryté machom a vodnými riasami ako keby boli ponorené vo vode na niekoľko rokov. Ale to je len taký malý miniatúrny nedostatok.

Každopádne po týchto nudných, zdĺhavých a tiahlych úvodných 25 minútach sa dočkáme konečne aj nejakej aj keď nie úplne hodnovernej akcie kratšej z majoritnej časti ako keby vystrihnutej z hry ale v podstate menšom a opäť pozmenenom merítku. Štvrtá epizóda v podstate kladie sledujúcim viacej otázok ako odpovedí, hlavne kto je to tá Kathleen, ktorá vyzerá že by neubehla ani 50 metrov a prečo je z Jeffreyho Pierca, predstavitela Tommyho jej pobočník, teda nejakej paramiltiaristickej skupinky, ktorá sa zmoznila karanténnej zóny Pittsburg. Kto bol ten lekár, ktoré Kathleen chladnokrvne odstrelila ako väzňa a prečo pátrajú po Henrym a Samovi. Ako som už písal, celá epizóda nemá dobré tempo a po záverečných titulkoch máte viacej otázok ako odpovedí.

Taktiež pasáž v podzemí tej budovy kde prebývali Henry so Samom kde sa hýbala tá asfaltová podlaha, to garantujem, že je zase nejaký fantasmagorický výmysel režiséra za pomoci druckmana kde zistíme, že mungo klíčky nielenže komunikujú na kilometrové vzdialenosti ale dokonca dokážu infikovaný aj za pomocou podzemných tunelov cestovať na vzdialené miesta. Buď alebo to bude zase nejaká trápna úchylárna kde sa dozvieme, že to je nejaký vedecký experiment, ktorý bol zatvorený v podzemí a teraz je nasratý na celý svet.

Uvidíme, som si takmer istý, že nebudem ďaleko od pravdy. Celý tento diel, je rovnako nepodstatný a nič nehovoriaci ako ten diel predošlí ale dávam určite o pol boda viacej ako záverečné hodnotenie za celkom podarené a neotrepané vtipy z hry, aj keď ich prednes by mohol byť troška živejší a prirodzenejší ale tak čo čakať od Bella Ramsay, ktorá ani sama nevie či chce byť radšej ona či ono alebo on.

Pesnička na záver som si vôbec nie som istý či nespieval práve Ashley Johnson, teda originálny hlas Ellie z hry. Každopáne pesnička sa volá True Faith a je pôvodne od kapely New order and táto verzia je prespievaná od Kestner, speváčky menom Anna-Lynne Williams. Pesnička sa objavila v prespievanej verzie od Ashley Johnson v jednom z CGI trailerov tlou part 2. Velmi pekná pesnička podotýkam, to ale nezachraní fakt, že seriál sa stále hľadá, či už v kvalite, príbehu, scénary alebo dialógoch, interakciách medzi postavami a hlavne akciou, ktorá chýba seriálu ako soľ. Smutné, že z takým rozpočtom aký seriál mal, sa zmohli akurát tak dvoch chupatých chalošovo ako si jazyčkujú orálne otvory a pestujú jahôdky.

Loved it this should have been episode 3. The Joel and Ellie scenes are great and I'm interested in finding out more about Kathleen's group.
