Ugh. After an amazing Season 2, here they go back to their old ways and Tandy is once again an unbearable cringy moron, this time with the added characteristics of being oblivious about everything around him and becoming a "comedian" with horrible repetitive jokes. Yes, "I hardly knew her" is a classic and got many laughs out at the beginning, but damn, it's been overused to death!Ugh. Yes, "I hardly knew her" is a classic and got many laughs out at the beginning, but damn, it's been overused to death! Seriously, his behaviour is becoming borderline mentally retarded.

He's also predictable af. Everytime he comments to himself you know EXACTLY what he's going to do next and just prepare for the ensuing cringe.

Carol has somehow become even worse than Tandy. She's childish, bratty and horribly annoying. Every episode she finds problems and issues in normal situations and starts behaving like a teenager in puberty when things don't go her way.

It's amazing how this has become a show where I love the side-characters like Gail, Todd and Erica (Mike, where are you?) more than the main cast. Honesty, them and the great dramatic moments this show is good at creating is what's keeping me going.

Going into season 4 I'm hoping for the best.

Punchy brevity is where The Last Man On Earth shines and--in the premiere of season 3 at least--Forte and the gang prove that there’s still humor, life, and occasionally deft emotions left in the apocalypse, even if the eyebrows are fake.

There are a few ok moments in the premiere and surely some great ones to come (last season’s “Falling Slowly” duet was among the show’s best), and for the Last Man faithful that may be enough. For those on the fence, however, this feels like the right time to say goodbye.
