    The Good Place,” from “Parks and Recreation” creator Michael Schur, is the true heir to “Lost,” right down to the flashbacks, half-baked philosophy and Colorforms-simple metaphors.

    The Good Place, needs some work. ... If there’s a purgatory for mediocre comedies that are built on wobbly premises, then that’s where this should go. A viewer will spend too much time grappling with the show’s intent (what might it be saying about the various ideas and beliefs people have about the afterlife?) and not enough time laughing.

    While there are probably some actually interesting ethical quandaries that could be addressed with a wry satire in The Good Place, the show rests on half-baked notions that seem like they would be much better suited elsewhere than a network comedy.

    Last night I watched the first two episodes with my family and we have all agreed that we are hooked! Although I liked Kristen Bell inLast night I watched the first two episodes with my family and we have all agreed that we are hooked! Although I liked Kristen Bell in Veronica Mars and have enjoyed her in other shows and movies, I wasn't sure if she would be able to pull off being the lead character. Wow was I surprised at how funny and likeable her character is despite the fact that on earth she wasn't a very good person. I'm very intrigued to discover the mystery behind the mistake that led to her arrival in the Good Place. I thought all the characters were great and acting was top notch. I must also share that it is so refreshing having a unique television show on the air that isn't about cops, or lawyers, or crime scene investigators.… Full Review »

The premise is already growing tired and the characters are just kind of boring. The best you get out of The Good Place is one or two mild chuckles per episode.
