    I really thought that this show had the potential to be funny. The commercials looked hilarious. However, when I began watching the show, I quickly realized that it was filthy. The fact that young children act in this show is really disturbing! Who in their right mind would allow their kids to do this? I have a feeling the next stop for these kids will be the Dr. Phil show.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Why must all comedies nowadays be obscene? Seriously, is that a new rule? Within the first minute comes the first "joke" about genitalia, then more and more, and it involves children. Is it not possible to be funny without being filthy? It's saddening to see more and more shows like this. I can also tell you, almost all men will stop watching this show within 10 minutes because one of the "jokes" involve a little girl getting her first "time of the month" in a dirty public restroom. What were the writers thinking? .… Expand

    The first season was great. I really enjoyed it. Now, season 2 is disaster. It's disgusting, grouse and there are practically nothing to laugh about. I was so excited that Detour got renewed, but now i'm so disappointed and i'm not gonna continue watching. Such a pity. :(

    he Detour‘s welcomely serialized structure reveals a rhythmic predictability by episode 2, and not all of the lines land (particularly from the kids), but this is the kind of new-age, modern sitcom that feels fresh and exciting, even despite its obvious inspirations.

    The Detour is pretty consistently funny but the humor tends to be filled with sexual innuendo that some viewers will find offensive. For others, it will be just fine.
