Shallow. This show is beautifully shot--clean but not directed as if the director is trying to steal the show. Yet, in my opinion, the director is the star of this pilot. This is because writing is poor. We have spent on real time with these character, yet we are supposed to feel something for them. Why should get care the he about about to leave if we do not yet understand the depths ofShallow. This show is beautifully shot--clean but not directed as if the director is trying to steal the show. Why should get care the he about about to leave if we do not yet understand the depths of their relationship nor do she ultimately. It seems like we came in too late on this story and I do not yet understand why it is more important that we start at this point in the narrative. All the characters seem to be underlining plot instead of living in these stories. Oddly, the only character seem to want to say something more is the central con villain hero if you will--I am not ready to know the names of these people. Maybe it is the acting job that is being done or maybe the creators cares much more about this character at this point and it shows--in any case, even he is not enough to warrant more than two episodes of trail for me. I love the universe that they created and the view is great but I need some more than someone that just look really good. Expand

Eh. Not good, not horrible. I watched for Enos and Krause, who have turned in such strong performances in other shows. But Enos doesn't shine as a heroine from Planet Rhimes, and Krause is oddly wooden--too much botox maybe? Like many, I love stories about con artists and was hoping for something more like Leverage or Hustle (i.e. with charm and ingenuity), but this show seems mainly aboutEh. Not good, not horrible. (Halfway through the pilot, I was already sick of the split-screen mirror-imaged cityscapes.) Can't imagine sticking with this series when there are so many good ones to watch. Expand

It’s heightened reality at its finest as Vaughan and her associates (Elvy Yost, Jay Hayden and Rollins) proceed to track down the con artists who hacked them and stop them before too much damage is done.

Despite the presence of Krause, Enos and Walger--all of whom have been standouts in modern TV classics--The Catch is barely worth investigating.

In many regards, The Catch certainly achieves its goals, but when the lives of every person on-screen revolve around one character and viewers are left wondering how a private investigation firm can afford a huge futuristic office with an enormous staff, it takes away from some of the fantasy.
