Sep 23, 2010Although it can sometimes feel like jokes are repeated, the show is a shining example of geek culture, full of funny comic, movie and video game references that young people, like me, will lap up.

May 21, 2013The big bang theory is one of the funniest sitcoms since NBC's Friends. It does not have much story but it is certainly the funniest t.v shows on CBS, beating "How I Met Your Mother" & "Two and a half men" by a huge margin in its number of viewers. The first season might seem a bit slow but in the second season the writing becomes much better.
-
AlfredoO.Nov 10, 2007The thing about this show, is that all of us geeks can identify with it and laugh.

-
JamesUApr 30, 2009This is a wonderfully written comedy, if you understand the science behind it.

-
AlexanderJ.Feb 6, 2008Funny. I like the fact that you actually have to pay attention to what the characters are saying. Jokes for people with an IQ larger than their shoe size

-
KellyH.Nov 19, 2007I have several physicist friends. The show makes me laugh . The portrayal of the physicists life styles is humorously accurate. Keep the episodes coming, I'm hooked.
-
-
KimberlySMay 17, 2009This show rocks. As a self proclaimed nerd, I relate to many of the jokes. The writing and casting for this show is amazing. Although I like each of the characters, Sheldon steals the show.

-
Nov 15, 2013If you're a Jersey Shore fan, stay away from this sitcom. This one deals with a mature and intelligent audience that knows how to laugh at themselves.

MM.Oct 15, 2007This show is aimed for the above-average crowd, if your in to cars, babes, action and hard abs, skip this because you wont understand it. Besides being misunderstood, this is a fantastic new sitcom.

-
Dec 19, 2010The first and second season demonstrates how even a geeky, nerdy, and sex-desperate bunch of guys can be hella fun. The Big Bang Theory shows more promise than any other sitcoms out there right now. The show gave Jim Parsons a chance to show off his unlikable but likable at the same time, face. What a great show!
-
JohnG.Oct 10, 2007Great humor which points out the differences between the people in our society who take on higher pursuits and the rest of us. Very intelligent comedy.
-
-
JustinMApr 10, 2010Intelligent, science jokes are a welcome break from the typical mindless plebeian jokes seen on virtually every other sitcom now and in the past, beside perhaps Frasier - in fact, thinking on it, The Big Bang Theory is a less pretentious Frasier for the science inclined.

Jan 22, 2012This show shows the appetite of the masses is for junk food.Just a lame show with canned laughter which makes it even worse. Bring back Archie Bunker or the Honeymooners.. They were funny..
-
May 8, 2012The first series gets off to a shaky start, but as the series gets deeper into the lives of the characters, you get to know them a lot more which helps with the humour in the sitcom.
-
May 30, 2014Bazinga!
This show is hilarious and the cast really make a HUGE difference. Everyone loves Sheldon and his classic pranks, plus Penny(Kaley Cuoco) is hot.
The Big Bang Theory is intellectual, as well as funny. -
SusSSep 2, 2009Funniest new show in many years! Well written! Well cast!

-
Dec 3, 2010When compared to such sitcoms as 'Friends', this refreshing piece of work may not seem so emotionally gripping, however 'The Big Bang Theory' has enough originality, side-splitting jokes, and bravery in surprising the viewer in a humorous fashion.

MikeU.May 19, 2008The funniest comedy in a long time! You have to be a little nerdy to get some of the jokes, so this show is kind of targeted toward nerds. Still, there are quite a few jokes that most people will still get. In conclusion, this is a really good comedy and they really should make a season 2.
-
-
TomasFeb 7, 2009Probably the best show there is.

-
NickyBFeb 20, 2010Absolutely awesome, watched the pilot and was hooked, made my bf watch it and we are seriously ADDICTED!!!every episode just gets better and better....VIVA BIG BANG!!! P.S. To those banging on the stereotype card: Maybe you should consider that a show like this actually makes people see a different side of those so-called-stereotypes or maybe its just me that see it that way.

-
MarialyceG.Oct 31, 2007This show is hilarious. Yes, they are nerds. Yes, she is dingy. Their characters play off wonderfully with each other. Sheldon is one of the best straight men that I have seen in a long time. I think everyone will get in touch with their "inner nerd" watching this show.
-
-
ShannaAOct 3, 2007I love this type of "super smarty pants" comedy! Only, I hope they keep the comedy fresh and not always reliant on stereo-typical nerd references. I would also love to see more exploration into the complexity of the nerd characters' vulnerable, sensitive sides when they learn they don

-
-
dm.Oct 6, 2007i loved it. don't see this as being a hit on "geeks or others that may be picked on". I have a child who has seen many years of geekdom and not so nice people around him. We made it through with laughter and with the help of a very pretty and nice young girl who befriended him. Life may not be as funny as sitcoms but maybe sitcoms can help others to see more interaction is possible.
-

SteveV.Oct 11, 2008Clever show! Some jokes are easily seen coming, but it's not about reinventing the wheel. It's a show about a few geeks, and it REALLY does the job well. VERY funny! Hell, even my girlfriend (who's not a geek) loves it!
-
-
SaraJan 29, 2008I literally laugh out loud every time I watch this. I find Sheldon to be a Gen X version of Niles Crane -- but still pretty unique in his own right.
-
-
GordonS.Feb 28, 2008You guys voting 0 and 1 please get a life!! I am a nerd (uk version) and I laughed my wotsits off - first 2 episodes are fantastic with plenty of LOL moments. Watched it with my son who peed his pants as well - Nerds will be the biggest fans of this show - it will be a big hit here...

-
-
JamesNSep 22, 2009This is one of the best comedies in a long time. The cast is amazing together and they even admit to having some "geeky" qualities. The Chicage Tribune is clearly reviewed by a "popular" person who cannot relate to the story line. While those of use who toed the "popular/unpopular" line or were immersed in subjects that clearly made us geeks see the complete brilliance of this show.

-
BobF.Oct 12, 2007Wonderful show. Best sitcom since "The odd Couple". It is obvious that most of the reviewers cant remember the odd couple and really cant focus long enough to appreciate the intelligent and witty dialogue. It would take an IQ of more than a house cat to really appreciate this show. Those who dont get it turn off the TV and go text message someone or call your BFF Jill. Idiocracy!!!
-
-
RyanC.Dec 12, 2007If you get the jokes like I do (WoW references, social awkwardness, the Doppler costume!) this is one of the best new shows of the season. If you don't, like my wife, you'll laugh at some parts but will never catch on to the real treasures in the subtle references.
-

Awards & Rankings
-
It may not be a creative breakthrough, but it's lots funnier than the universal equation would predict.
-
Standard setup? Sure. Standard execution? For the most part.
-
The show might even have been engaging, if the one-liners came less frequently and the characters had a little more dimension. As it is, Sheldon and Leonard are merely laughable, if sweet, and they are even less fleshed out than the characters on "Two and a Half Men."
